Okay, from reading spoilers and such, what I gathered said that Slusho and Tagruato and T.I.D.O WAVE are NOT mentioned at all. So part of this thread is to ask, "Where did the monster come from?" This all depends though because if the spoilers are fake this can be disregarded.

ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION (SPOILER):
SLUSHO IS NEVER MENTIONED IN THE MOVIE.
If you examine the end video where Rob is on a train with his girlfriend, they are at Coney Island. He takes a shot of the ocean and unless you look really hard, you would miss this (I did, but my dad didn't).
Something falls from the sky and crashes into the ocean. This is where the monster came from, so it is indeed an alien.

from the Tangruato.jp
Hatsui Satellite Works for the Futura Visions of success for Tagruato's Bold Futura subsidiary are no longer limited by gravity. In its first month orbiting Earth, the satellite "Hatsui" has been at peak performance—busily collecting data and securing samples. The satellite signals the first effort by Futura's space program, and is heralded company-wide as a huge success. Images taken by it's cutting edge TagFutura KrystaLens were described by CEO Ganu Yoshida as, "a revelation in imagery." Grinning big, he added, "This equipment will open eyes to worlds never before imagined. It is a bright, united future for all of us." And he meant it. In their latest gesture to reach out to fellow man, Tagruato used the Hatsui satellite to try to identify a rogue piece that is thought to have fallen off of the Japanese Government's "ChimpanzIII" satellite. Although Hatsui’s work has not yet been able to confirm the identity of the fallen piece, Tagruato scientists and engineers are busily trying to track and recover the fragment. According to Hatsui data, it disappeared into the Atlantic Ocean late last week.
Bold Futura's Head Aeronautical Engineer Wada Arinori proudly touted the watchdog effort as the first of many. Hunched happily over a computer, he beamed, "In my 11 years for Tagruato, I see us grow in power, and also in caring. Such teamwork effort is huge stride."
Future plans for the Bold Futura space program are still under wraps. Although with the success of Hatsui and ample funds dedicated to development and galactic research, it is certain to be big. Added Yoshida, "Our first step into space was a triumphant one. Our next will be unforgettable."
hmm... lol

JJ Abrams said that the monster IS NOT an alien of any kind, but that it is a creature that has lived on the bottom of the ocean in a dormant state.

The piece of the satellite could have disturbed the monster, since it was already in the ocean but in a dormant state. The monster itself was probably created by something with the deep sea nectar and what Tagruato was doing in the ocean, and came out of the ocean because of the disturbance. Someone theorized at one point that the satellite piece could have hit the Chuai station, causing its destruction, but based on where we saw the piece fall in the movie, I don't think that's the case. Plus, all of the news stations that did reports about the Chuai station probably would have known about the piece falling if it had hit the station, and they would have mentioned it. So it can be assumed that the Chuai station was destroyed by the monster after it was disturbed and became restless.
