Rules and Guidelines
I know how much that every one despises rules, but they are needed to keep order on the site. That and prevent thy guild crew from going completely insane.
Applying
1. You may apply with up to six characters. If for any reason you need to operate more than six, which I sincerely doubt, accommodations may be arranged. Remember, a dragon and it's rider classify as one character due to the shared mind.
2. Before you roleplay your character you MUST MUST MUST have a character application posted. This is done in the Role Call forum, and nowhere else unless specified.
3. Your character may begin with a single pet. This pet can be any of the four lower colors of flitter, or a wher. Queen flitters will be more strictly regulated to prevent overpopulation. Note that having a flitter will not affect your character's chances of impressing a dragon, but having a wher will.
OOC/General
1. Respect EVERYONE on the site.
2. If a Captain or Crew member tells you something, listen, they have helped to put the site together and have every right to be shown respect.
3. There is no number 3.
4. Don't flame or spam the boards, please. Keep all completely off-topic threads to the OoC forum.
5. If you wish to advertise, PM Lumiere Meridienne with a banner for your game or guild, which will be added to the guild's front page.
6. STAY ACTIVE! You must log in AND post once every two weeks. If you can't post IC then at least post something OOC. Boredom attacks everyone and we'd hate to see you not putting it to good use on here! We're serious RPers here, but Man does not survive on IC alone.
7. On the fifteenth of each month, members with a post count of five or less will be deleted from the guild. If you believe this deletion unfair, notify any crew member with the reason and membership will be reinstated if applicable.
8. ABSOLUTELY NO CHAT SPEAK! Unless it's "lol" or something like that--and that's only allowed in OOC. But none of this bull that looks funny like "Wut r u doin' 2nite?" Type it out properly or one of our dragons will have to take you on a one way trip between,
In Character
1. READ POSTS BEFORE YOU REPLY!!! This is a biggie, particularly in multi-character posts. You may not think someone else's post will make a difference to your character, but guess what! You could be wrong! The other thing, going hand-in-hand with this, is that in multi-character posts, you are NOT just responding to the NPC or whoever is "running" the thread--you are also interacting WITH ALL OTHER CHARACTERS INVOLVED in the thread. So read EVERYONE'S posts--skimming is okay as long as you get the gist of what is said in the post and can respond to it if necessary.
2. No power playing, this one is a BIG no-no. Actions will be taken to prevent this problem, and if you persist, that one-way ticket Between is still available.
3. Limited god-moding is acceptable. Your crew has generally been roleplaying for years, and understands that after several weeks of playing together, a rough estimation of a familiar characters response can be gathered. However, try to always leave room open for the other character to react.
4. For the love of Faranth herself no 'perfect' characters. No Mary Sues or whatever the one for the guys is (Gary Stu or somesuch). Characters have quirks and flaws and other such things. If we don't like your char, you WILL be told and I expect no complaints on this...or a dragon shall be ordered to eat you, and they really don't want to, I promise.
5. Fighting and killing is something that happens. Not necessarily at the weyr, but elsewhere. If you wish to kill off a character or something like that, then message the Captain or Crew member so that we might be able to remove your character from the pages.
6. Post length. How fun and exciting? Anyways, for this I will request that you post a minimum of five sentences. It's easy to do. I don't want you sitting there and doing nothing. Description is a good thing and we'd like to see you TRY to include it.
7. Mature Content. Umm, well, Gaia has a policy of keeping things PG-13, and as the current trends in society make the PG-13 rating ever more adult you are asked to post a warning (mature content, MC, Mature, Violent) or something of the like on posts that may seem more mature than a normal post. And just for the obnoxious ones, anyone wishing to act out their characters response to a mating flight is invited to do so OFFSITE!
8. If you wish to plan a conversational series of posts or something along those lines with another character or two via email or IM, please be sure to edit the conversation into a postable format and post it. If you don't, continuity will be sorely interrupted, and we don't want that.

isn't that what Gaia is all about anyway.
