NAME OF LOCATION - Bakrus

DESCRIPTION - The planet of Bakrus was given a Cardassian name due to the planet's color, which is not unlike the color of Cardassian ship hulls. Unlike other planets that have been recently discovered, this planet is a very very harsh place to live. The planet was once a sturdy M Class planet, however a massive climate shift began several centuries ago that has been steadily raising the temperature on a global scale. The planet is believed to be on its way to becoming an N Class planet. But, in the meantime the heat and dryness has the effect of the entire surface of the planet being a harsh desert-like environment with little water or plant life.

LOCATION - Located in Sector G-12

PEOPLE - This planet is home to a remote Federation Research station located on the surface and below ground where much of the astronomical data of the unexplored sectors of the Beta Quadrant are cataloged and researched. Almost the entire facility was created in a little less than two months using the natural rock to create the walls of the underground structure, while the above ground facility was pieced together by a series of pre-built modules that were connected together to create the bulk of the facility.

CLIMATE - Hot, dry, and unforgiving are words that are best used to describe this planet's climate. There is little water above ground except for the occasional oasis where groundwater flows to the surface. However, there is much water underground. This water is used to hydrate the researchers in the facility below ground, and to provide water for the hydroponics facility. Near the poles, the temperature drops low enough that the desert-like environment turns into something more akin to a frozen Antarctica-like desert, and is in fact more dry than any other area on the planet as almost all the water is frozen in show, or in thick sheets of ice.

RESOURCES - Dilithium exists on the surface of Bakrus, and even more lies beneath the surface of the planet, locked up in rocks and caves. This are as yet unclaimed and unused resource, however the Federation may consider creating a facility here to extract the precious mineral for use as a refueling station for their ships.

ASTRONOMICAL DATA -
Bakrus is the third in a system of seven planets. However, the other planets in the system are relatively insignificant, and offer no real advantages or disadvantages in combat.

Tene'cha spends a few minutes cursing Jacob in every language he knew. he should have known the man was cunning and devious, though, he had to admit, he would make a good romulan...
Taking stock, Tene'cha says to the crew, after looking at the sun, then looking at his comm device, orienting on the federation outpost, saying, "Let's get the shelters up, and stay here until the sun drops, then head for the outpost, we have to get word to the federation of Jacob's escape, and that he is in control of a firehawk.."
Tene'cha worked beside his crew, getting the shelters raised, and the rest of the supplies paked into travel sized bundles.
once that was done, he made sure the rest of the crew got into the shelters, before he too got under cover, and out of the punishing sun, waiting for when the sun begins to drop..

It took a couple hours, but eventually the sun dipped lower in the sky, and the hot temperatures began to drop off. However, it was a little known fact that hot air, especially in the desert, was often dry air, and dry air held heat very poorly. This ultimately meant that Tene'cha and his crew would be dealing with very cold temperatures in a matter of about four or five hours...

It was all a part of the extreme desert environment. Blazing hot temperatures during the day, and freezing at night.

As soon as the sun begins to dip, Tene'cha orders his crew to pack up, having some knowledge of deserts, he has his crew have whatever they can find to keep themselves warm ready to use.
They begin to trek towards the station, alternating between a light jog and a walk, to try to get to the station as quickly as possible.

after several hours of travelling by foot, Tene'cha ordered a stop, already having taken a break to get the cold weather gear on.
Checking his comm device, he tries to raise the station, saying, "This is Tene'cha, captain of the SS Star Falcon to the federation station, Come in please."
Tene'cha has his crew rest, and have a meal as he waits for any replies.

The USS Behemoth dropped out of warp and began moving slowly towards the planet, and then began orbiting.
Bakrus research station this is the USS Behemoth. We have come as per request to assist in studies of the nearby pulsar.
The behemoth's crew behind the scenes were all doing everything they could to prepare for the arrival of a guest aboard the vessel.

Picking up the signal from the Behemoth on his comm device, Tene'cha quickly sends, "This is Tene'cha, captain of the Star Falcon, to USS Behemoth, urgent message, come in please."

Sir, we're reciving a transmission from someone called Tene'cha, audio only.
Our scientist perhaps?
No... it's originating a great distance from the outpost.
Patch it through...
Aye captain.
This is captain david of the USS Behemoth, we read you.

When Captain David responded, Tene'cha sends, "This is Tene'cha, I have an urgent message that needs to be transmitted to the Ragnarok, full priority. The Star falcon had been transporting a dangerous prisoner to the Penal Colony in the Hades System, when he escaped, taking control of the Star Falcon and leaving myself and the rest of my crew stranded on this rock. extreme caution must be taken, as he is very cunning, and in control of a Firehawk light cruiser. Tene'cha out."
Tene'cha hopes Captain David will trasmit his message, as his comm device does not have the range to reach DS-12..
PostPosted: Fri Feb 15, 2008 8:49 pm

As soon as communications ceased david ordered a priority 1 channel be opened to D.S. 12
Deep space 12 this is the USS Behemoth, we've recived a transmission stating that a federation prisoner was being transported to the penal colony in the hades system. This prisoner has broken free and stolen a firehawk light romulan cruiser called the Star Falcon near Bakrus... No registry available at this time.
David only hoped they wouldn't have to see this cruiser soon. When he suddenly remembered the men on the surface.
Captain Tene'cha this is the USS Behemoth's captain david speaking, we've alerted ds 12 to the situation. Judging by the situation you're stranded, would you like us to transport you to the federation reseach station nearby?

After Captain David asked if he would like transport, Tene'cha sends, "That would be greatly appreciated. numbers and coordinates for our location are being sent to you now."
Tene'cha sends the Behemoth the number of crew, and the transport coordinates where he and his crew were waiting.
After he had sent that, Tene'cha says, "Thank you for sending the message. we are awaiting your transport."
Making sure that his crew is fully ready, he waits...
PostPosted: Sat Feb 16, 2008 8:21 am

No need to thank us. We're just glad no one has been harmed by him yet.
The communications cut out and david sent the message to transport the stranded crew on the surface.
The transporters handled up to three at a time... within minutes the whole group was sent to the research station.
Now back to the mission at hand...
Hail the research station.

Tene'cha makes sure his crew is all right before stepping up to the entrance to the station.
When a voice said, "Halt, Identify yourself." Tene'cha says, "I am Tene'cha of the SS Star Falcon. Myself and my crew have been stranded here after a prisoner we were transporter escaped and took control of the Star Falcon. I am asking for shelter until assistance can arrive."
Tene'cha waits for them to run clearance checks...

As Tene'cha was starting to get his crew arranged for a long stay, he hears the door open, and an aging Federation officer steps out, saying, "Ah, sorry to hear about your ship... we can offer you shelter until another one can be sent to pick you up.."
With a grateful nod and shake of the officer's hand, Tene'cha says, "That would be most welcome.. and as repayment, myself and my crew are willing to work to help this outpost as best we can."
WIth a nod, the officer leads them inside, and begins to get them settled.
