~Father Christmas IV, Event information~

Come join Narnia for a day of fighting, feasting, and fun! The return of Father Christmas to Narnia signaled the pending doom of the White Queen, and the start of the Golden Age. This party honors this epic story, and Narnia invites all of Dagorhir to join our celebration.

~Tentative Events~

o Day Tavern offering simple meals and non-alcoholic drinks
o Indoor and or out door fighting [outdoor fighting based on weather]
o Full feast with entertainment. RSVP required.

~Dates~

Saturday, January 26th, 2008.

~Location~

Hamburg Community Center, 107 Prospect Ave, Hamburg NY 14075-4815

~Times~

Sign in: 11:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Fighting: 11:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Day tavern: Noon to 4:00 p.m.
Feast: 6:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Clean up: 10:00 p.m. to close [help is very welcome]

~Costs~

Fighting only: Free: there is no charge for people who fight, but do not attend feast.
Day Tavern: Snack and drinks free to all in attendance. This is not part of the feast.
Feast: Feast is $15.00 U.S. and only 70 seats are available. You MUST RSVP prior to the event to attend the feast! RSVP via the Narnian website, this forum, PM, or e-mail.

~More Event Information~

Age: Narnia is a unit of Tartarus Invictus and so follows the age limits of the chapter. Tartarus Invictus allows fighters of 12 years of age and up. Fighters age 12-17 MUST have a signed waiver with parental signature!

Garb: Minimum Dagorhir garb, as listed in the “Manual of Arms”, is required to participate in this event. People who are not in proper garb will be prohibited from fighting and the feast! If you are really hard up for garb and need help, please e-mail someone in Narnia. Narnia will help who they can. Cold weather is not an excuse to break the garb rules. Dress warm, but dress in character.

~Directions~

As with all directions, we suggest researching the site using on-line map services. Bring a map!

~Direction from Buffalo, Rochester, etc.~

1. Take the 90 W/NEW YORK STATE TRWY W (portions toll)

2. Take the RT-75 S exit- Exit 57.

3. After paying toll, road splits into left [more straight] and right [sharper right turn] paths. Take the left option. Road will swing around a long loop and spit you out on -75 S/CAMP RD. Continue to follow NY-75 S.

4. Turn LEFT onto PROSPECT AVE.

5. End at 107 Prospect Ave, Hamburg NY 14075-4815

~Direction from Erie PA& West or South~

1. Take the 90 E/NEW YORK STATE TRWY W (portions toll)

2. Follow directions as above.

Sadly the feast is all full up, so there are no more free seats. However everyone is still free to come fight and eat at the day tavern. Still lots of awesome fun.

Barbarian Bash Campout.

Beginning of summer, as often as possible, usualy on weekends.

Mostly plaid by ear and carpool. a 3 day to 1 week camping event in the mountains near a lake. right now its a small event bu the more the marrier. its a secluded place, not for merchants expecting to make money, more of a personal campout for trainning.

Looking to make A Walpurgis event, at the end of april beginning of may. Thinking of having it down river, directions will be with carpooling should event be established.

Astrela

Estrella War is a week-long, annual event hosted and run by the Kingdom of Atenveldt, one of 19 Kingdoms (regional chapters) of the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA), a not-for-profit educational organization that studies western European history by recreating the "best" pastimes and crafts of the Middle Ages. SCA participants devote their free time to tournaments, educational collegiums (classes), feasts, revels, the many forms of medieval warfare, and all sorts of arts and sciences dating from pre-1600s western Europe. Currently in its 24th year, the Estrella War brings together over 7,000 participants from SCA chapters around the world to conduct a medieval style two-sided war between SCA Kingdoms.

Each year, the Kingdom of Atenveldt invites one or more other SCA Kingdoms to participate as Principal Kingdoms at Estrella War. Some of those Kingdoms ally with Atenveldt, and some join together to oppose the Atenveldt forces. At the end of the week, victory banners are awarded to the side that wins campaigns waged by heavy combat and rapier armies on the battlefield, to the side that wins scenarios in a target archery competition, and to the side with the most points in a competition of those skilled in Arts & Sciences of the Middle Ages. For Estrella War XXIV (Feb 200 cool , the Kingdom of Atenveldt is pleased to announce that the Kingdom of Caid, the Kingdom of the Outlands, and the Kingdom of Artemisia have accepted invitations to participate as Principal Kingdoms. The Kingdoms of Atenveldt and Caid will form one Allied Realm in the conflict, and the Kingdoms of the Outlands and Artemisia will form the opposing Allied Realm.

Estrella War offers all the members of your family a chance to spend a week camping and living with thousands of others as part of a medieval town with a robust Merchant’s Row. Held in February at Canyon Moon Ranch in Florence, AZ, the event provides those who are interested in things Medieval with a diverse combination of the exciting activities offered by the Society for Creative Anachronism (SCA). We invite you to explore the details of the event on these webpages, and to come join us in the warm Atenveldt Sun for a Glorious escape from the modern world!

Gates was pretty fun, even with the rain showers. smile

The only upcoming event I can think of to advertise is Winds of Change.

May 16-18
Camp Sequoia
2675 Gady Road
Adrian, MI 49221

This will be the first entirely Eryndor run campout, I think. o_O Hosted by The Senegal's Finest and the Legacy of the Lifetree. It's in Adrian, Michigan, so I don't know if anyone in this guild is even remotely close enough to go, but if you can make it, it will help swell numbers and make it pretty fun. smile Plus I like meeting new people.
