If you're lucky, maybe he'll entrust you with something special! Either way, you should at least stop by and say hi (and try your luck for something cool). But even if you don't get anything, he'll heal your Pokemon for you since he has a machine to do so. That way you don't have to go all the way back to Cherrygrove! P O K E M O N XE G G S

You may only try one time each for eggs and special items! That means, in essence, you get two tries. But you can't get two eggs or two items. Only ONE egg and ONE item. If you fail at an egg, you are only leaving with the one item. If you get an egg, you should also be able to get an item however...because everyone should at least get an item.
If you try for items and get a number that can be used for more than one item (like the #40, which is divisible by 5, 10, and 20), you may only pick ONE of the items to take.

Glynnis and Micah left Cherrygrove taking the northern exit and found themselves on Route 30. It looked a bit more intimidating than Route 29, but Glynnis was ready for it. She turned to Micah, seeing as he was going to be the navigator for their little trip together. She couldn't really follow a map that well, so she'd hoped he'd fair better than her.
"So now, which way is Mr. Pokemon's house?" she asked him. It looked like just ahead of them, there were two possible paths. One of them probably led to Mr. Pokemon's house. The other, she guessed, continued on to Violet City. She hoped that once they walked all the way up to Mr. Pokemon's house, there was a way to cut across somehow to the other path without having to walk all the way back down. But somehow, Glynnis didn't have a good feeling about that.

"Um, he's supposedly like a good friend of Prof. Elm," Glynnis explained as they ventured into the tall grass. "Prof. Elm suggested I visit him 'cause sometimes he'll give out some really cool stuff to trainers. But even if he doesn't decide to, he'll at least have some good advice, I'm sure. And I told Prof. Elm I would stop in and give him his regards."
As they walked through, they came across a bunch of wild Pokemon. It was inevitable, since they were walking in the grass where Pokemon were hiding. But the wild Pokemon were weak on this route as well, and no match for Charla. She even saw some new Pokemon she hadn't seen before on Route 29. Glynnis made sure to pull out her Pokedex and look them up, as Prof. Elm had suggested she do. After the last battle, however, Charla suddenly breathed fire out of its mouth.
"That's new..." Glynnis hadn't seen that move before. So just what was that. She pulled out her Pokedex, and it explained that Charla had just learned the move, Ember. "Wow, that's awesome! Charla learned a new move! That means all this training is paying off."

Micah had stopped briefly at a point to try and catch a few Pokemon, and they seemed to be abundant in the small pond he was fishing in. Soon he'd caught a Poliwag. After a bit of contemplation about whether to catch it or not, he decided to just battle it, and after a great deal of effort from Taka who was firing a barrage of Water Guns from the pond, she eventually took down the Poliwag, and Micah ran to catch up with Glynnis who hadn't pulled too far ahead. "Whoa, neat." Micah uttered as he watched the Pokemon around him and Charla taking her first breath of Ember, taking note to record each Pokemon he saw in his Pokedex that the Professor's Aide had given him. At one point during their walk, he found a pair of Potions, and decided to share one with Glynnis as well. Seemed like someone dropped 'em long ago as dirt had begun to cover them. No sense in letting good items go to waste, either. With a smile on his face, he decided since Glynnis' Charla was doing so well, he'd have his Taka come on out and do her deal with these land-Pokemon, as well. "Come on out, Taka!" he exclaimed loudly as he summoned his water-Pokemon onto the field. She seemed to somehow be getting used to managing herself on dry land, little by little, at least. "Taka, I know it's hard, but try and lock on to the targets around you and hit 'em with your Water Gun." As he said this to his jet Pokemon, it's eyes darted around and locked on to several targets and quite powerfully and precisely hit each of them several times, while they rushed the small fish Pokemon. "Oh! That was a good job there, Taka." he said, petting the Remoraid on the head briefly before spraying it with the Potion he'd found earlier and calling it back into it's pokeball. "I wish there was a way for the lil' lady to stay out of her ball, though." he said, turning back to Glynnis as they continued towards Mr. Pokemon's house.

Glynnis excepted the potion from Micah and used it on Charla immediately, since she was looking kind of tired from all her battling. She watched for a little while as Micah battled some wild Pokemon with his Pokemon. He looked pretty strong too; perhaps she had to try even harder so she could surpass his level. But right now, his Remoraid could definitely take out Charla, no problem. That made Glynnis only want to train more.
She ventured out into the grass to find some more Pokemon to battle. Charla beat them, but was reaching her battling limit. Glynnis had more potions in her bag, but Charla probably needed a good, full healing like the Pokemon Center offered. She remembered that Prof. Elm had a machine just like the ones in the Pokemon Centers in his lab.
"Hey," she said, getting Micah's attention. "You think this Mr. Pokemon guy has a machine to heal Pokemon like Prof. Elm has in his lab? I mean, I've got more potions and all, but I'm not really sure how long Charla will hold out and I'm not sure how much longer it is to Violet City. If we keep running into wild Pokemon like this...or have to battle trainers too, these potions might not be enough."

Natalie “Nat” Benoit  Hoshi and Natalie emerged onto Route 30, the redhead eating her sandwich as the two walked. She seemed happy as a clam to be continuing on their journey, her thoughts continually wondering to why Professor Elm's acquaintance would be called Mr. Pokemon. The best she could figure, it meant that he either knew a lot about them, or he just really really loved them and had rare and interesting artifacts and bits of knowledge that he could pass their way. Whatever the origin of his name, if Professor Elm recommended that they go see him, he probably had something important to tell them -- some advice that would change her entire journey. Was she setting her expectations a little too high? Probably, but until she figured out the mystery, she wouldn't be happy until they got there.
Breaking off into an unavoidable patch of tall grass, she almost immediately found a potion laying unattended on the ground. Stooping to pick it up, she caught the sound of buzzing close by, the redhead looking around for a source. Breaking away from her travel partner slightly to investigate, it was not too long before she stumbled upon a bug pokemon nest. Caterpie and Weedle shuffled along the base of a thick tree, it's branches teeming with Metapod and Kakuna, waiting to evolve. Thankfully, she didn't see any Beedrill around -- as much as she loved pokemon, those gave her the creeps. However, before she could manage to back out of the nest without causing a scene, she accidentally stepped on a passing Caterpie, the resulting cry bringing several of the bug pokemon down on her. Natalie had no choice but to fight.
Releasing Sophie into the fray, the long nose pokemon instantly darted forward in a tackle attack, aiming to take out the two approaching Weedle first. While Natalie was still learning about pokemon, she knew that dealing with a Weedle's poison sting was a bad idea. While Sophie was successful in taking out the yellow bug pokemon, thaw two Caterpie managed to each land a tackle attack, Sophie instead turning her sights on them. One was taken out easily, though she had to endure another tackle attack before Sophie managed to take out the remaining Caterpie. All that remained then was two Metapod and a Kakuna, each of which was more a game of endurance than anything else. Eventually, despite numerous, rather annoying, Harden moves, Sophie emerged victorious, running around her Trainer's feet despite being a bit tired from the larger-scale battle. Still, taking out a nest of bug pokemon in the first day of training had to be indicative of a great relationship, right? Either way, she was now more certain than ever that she had the greatest starter pokemon in the world. However, before praise could be given, the redhead was sure to put some distance between herself and the bug pokemon nest. Upon returning to Hoshi, she laughed slightly, her pokemon running straight into the back of her leg as if to remind her that she had still not gotten any praise for her last battle.
"Sophie, that was great. Really, you're getting so strong already," she praised her pokemon, laughing as her partner nuzzled her leg affectionately. Natalie then turned to her travel companion, laughing slightly.

╭ Tralalalalalalalalalalalalalalala ╮ ╰ Tralalalalalalalalalalalalalalala ╯ ☣Hoshi Maban☣ Hoshi was glad Natalie was eating with her-even if it was eating while they were walking. It had been so long since she ate with another human. She had always opted out of eating with others to keep Coral in line. She reached into her bag to find her food. Her hand hovered over the rice ball for a second before landing on an apple. Her Aipom would want one of the onigiri. She always did and Hoshi always ended up sharing whatever food Coral wanted, even though it was probably better to feed pokemon pokefood. She took a bite of her apple as she walked. Truthfully, route 30 seemed bigger than route 29. Hoshi realized that if she had been alone, she probably would've gotten lost. Spotting something on the ground, Hoshi bent and picked it up. It was an antidote. Hoshi couldn't believe how many things you could find on the ground. As she straightened, she put her new item into her bag and noticed the Natalie was being attacked by bug pokemon. Something in the normal type trainer urged her to help her new friend but she saw that Nat was handling it quite well. Her and Sophie made a great team. "At least you didn't scream like most people would've," she replied to the Natalie's mental note as the girl approached. Hoshi hadn't been watching where she was going and ran straight into a tree causing several pidgey, two kakuna, and a metapod to fall out of it and onto the purple haired girl. In a quick motion, Hoshi slipped out from under the wild pokemon and sent out her own two. This time Dream was awake and slightly confused as to what was happening. "Great. Both of you use scratch." Coral immediately followed her trainer's command and Dream-after a few seconds-decided to follow the aipom. Coral did what her trainer had hoped she would and took down the three pidgey. Coral had greater experience in battle and easily dodged the pidgey's attacks.Fainting each of them with their own scratch. It took a while for Dream to take down her opponents since they kept using harden but luckily that was the only move they knew. The two pokemon ran back to their trainer, the sentret staying a distance away. She was shy and didn't know what to make of her trainer. Coral, seeing the apple in Hoshi's hand, demanded food. Hoshi sighed and reached into her bag. She pulled out of it two riceballs wrapped in plastic. Hoshi held them out. Coral immdeatly took one and unwrapped the package, devouring the food in a few bites. Dream made no move to take the food and it perplexed her trainer. The aipom snatched the second rice ball and unwrapped it too. As she held it in her tail, she rushed over to Dream, forcing the onigiri onto the sentret. Like a good pokemon, Coral came back to her trainer and put the wrappings into her bag to be dispose of at the next town. When she saw Dream eating, Hoshi sighed with relief. "I guess that takes care of that." She looked to Natalie about to say something when two apricorn trees caught her eyes. She walked towards them and picked one of each, a pink and another green one. can you feel the ground when your head's in the cloudsxxxxxx♥ ♥ xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx Route 30 was not much different than Route 29. It just went north instead of west. Blair sighed to herself. It was longer though, so that would be more annoying battling. She couldn’t see any house that could be Mr. Pokemon’s, so she walked around the route and hoped she would see a house sometime soon. On the way she tripped over something, then heard a squeak. Oops. She looked back and saw a Caterpie behind her. The Caterpie started crying and running around. Blair sent out Nilly, who used Scratch as soon as she got out of her Pokeball. Somehow it knew it would be going into a battle. The scratch was vicious and left marks on the Caterpie’s face. Blair grimaced. She had to admit it was a little violent. But Nilly needed the experience, and the squealing coming from the bug Pokemon was a little annoying. As the battle went on, Blair got out her Pokedex and scanned the Caterpie. While putting it away she commanded her Meowth to attack some more. ”That’s right Nilly, keep using Scratch until it faints.” She watched the rest of the battle and soon it was over. She petted her POkemon and smiled, and watched as the Shell Bell glowed once again, and all of her Meowth’s scratches were gone. That Shell Bell had REALLY come in handy.
Blair finally stumbled upon a house and assumed it was Mr. Pokemon’s, because she did know that houses could actually be in routes. Outside of the house there was a weird plant again that had an Apricorn on it. It was inside the boundaries of the house’s property, but she picked it anyways. She then came to the door and knocked on it. Someone said ‘come in,’ and Blair opened the door. What she saw was a bald man with squinty eyes. He started talking. ”I know that weird look. You must be mistaken. I am not Mr. Pokemon. I am just a man who is a fan of Apricorns. If you are looking for Mr. Pokemon then you have to go further up the route. But take these first before you leave!” He went to a dresser at the back of the room and grabbed a Potion and Antidote, and gratefully handed them to Blair. ”I know how hard it is to be a Pokemon Trainer. You’ll need these.” He smiled at Blair, she smiled back, and left.
Once outside again, she got confused again. One side of the house was a ledge that was too high for Blair to climb. On the other side was tall grass and a pond. But Blair saw two people around the tall grass area, and since this was a moment of weakness, she decided to ask for directions again. She walked up to them and hoped she wasn’t interrupting anything important. ”Okay, so I just went into a house that wasn’t Mr. Pokemon’s, and Prof. Elm told me to visit him but I can’t find him and I just want to do what I was told.” Blair sighed heavily and her bangs blew out of her face. ”Are you by any chance looking for Mr. Pokemon? Or have you already been by his house? Could you please tell me where to go?” Blair hoped she didn’t sound too desperate.

Glynnis agreed that it would be extremely helpful if Mr. Pokemon could heal their Pokemon. She sighed as she gave Charla another Potion for her injuries. They continued battling their way through wild Pokemon. Charla took out three Kakunas in one hit with her Ember attack. Glynnis realized the Ember attack was much stronger than her old Scratch attack. According to her Pokedex, however, the fire-type and special attack Ember did a lot more damage to bug-type Pokemon who were vulnerable to it. Glynnis still had a lot to learn about Pokemon and types, though. She was grateful the Pokedex Prof. Elm gave her was so useful.
Glynnis was about to go off into another patch of tall grass to look for more Pokemon to battle with Charla, when a girl that looked about her age approached them. When Glynnis first took a good look at her, she just had a feeling that she was a trendy, big-city kind of girl. Glyn knew how to spot those, since a couple of them would come wondering into her hometown sometimes. The girl was apparently lost and looking for Mr. Pokemon's house.
"I'm not really the best person to ask directions from," Glynnis told the girl, "But we're headed for Mr. Pokemon's house, too. "Oi! Good idea. If my guess is correct, it's this way." said Micah as he pointed down one of the paths set before them. He made sure to try and rush through the shortest path he could so as to avoid getting in battles, though he did encounter a couple of Kakuna at one point, but his Remoraid, Taka, took care of that battle quite quickly, even with her water-type Water Gun. "Taka, we're going to have to make these Potions last," he said to her, hoping they wouldn't have too many more battles before Mr. Pokemon's house, and still hoping that Mr. Pokemon had one of those fancy Pokemon-healing machines. He then returned his Pokemon back to it's ball and turned back to the group. "Gah. It's hard keeping your Pokemon in good health. I don't want to over-exert her . . . hopefully things will go a bit more smoothly from her, ya' know?" he said in his usual accent. "It's hopefully not much farther." he said, not knowing that it was just behind the trees ahead.

She guessed that she didn’t sound as frantic as she had thought. Blair nodded when they said that they go to Mr. Pokemon’s house together, since they were going also. She looked at the girl. She seemed country, and Blair noticed a hint of an accent. The girl also looked like a person that would live in the country too, with a skirt and a tied shirt. She probably lived somewhere warm, or had a high tolerance to heat, because Blair was freezing and she was wearing a jacket. The boy had a bit of an accent too, but he sure didn’t dress like the girl. He wore blue everywhere, and had blue hair and blue eyes. She looked at them both. ”Thanks so much. I’ll gladly go with you guys if you’ll have me.” She smiled and they all started moving forward again. ”Oh yeah, by the way, I’m Blair.” She introduced herself and left silence so that the two others could present themselves, too.
At that moment a boy stepped in the way of Blair. ”I’m Youngster Joey,” he started. ”And I demand a battle. Go Rattata!” Blair didn’t want to say no; so she took the battle request and sent her Meowth forth. ”Okay, Nilly, use Scratch. I think we’ve beat these Pokemon before, so this shouldn’t be a problem for you.” Nilly meowed and started the battle. ”Mee-OWTH, Meowth!” It said as it scratched through four levels of purple rat. The Rattata tried to fight back, and through the commands of it’s trainer, ended up losing anyways. ”Yay Nilly! That was excellent. Our first battle went so well.” She waited for the Shell Bell to heal her Meowth, and then she put it in it’s Pokeball for later. ”Aww, you beat me! Now I have to go to the Pokemon Center again. Ughhh!” He walked over, gave Blair some prize money, and walked off towards the town to probably heal his Pokemon. She walked back to the group and they continued walking.
