Well if you are serious about doing computer art, I would say to invest in a tablet, you'll be able to get smoother lines and at least it'll feel more like drawing with a pencil.
I recently been fooling around with a tablet and I would have to say that after a bit of practice, you could probably draw the same way as you would with a pen/pencil.
A 6x8 Wacom tablet is what I see and hear is what most people use, I have no clue of the price though.
And for the critique, I do like your art, it is clearly alot better than what I couold do with a mouse (which is what I'm guessing is what you're using). Once again, I think that if you want to at least improve on a greater, I would say to get a tablet, rather than continuing to work on a mouse.
