Cloverfield.. Cloverfield.. Cloverfield!!

We all know almost everything there is to know about this movie but does the Gaia staff know??

I went on a asking spree to ask each and every one of them (that posses a Gaia Account) and PM'd them asking.

Take a look at all of the PMs I had to send, and those are just half of the original amount:

Remember the rest of the staff have not answered either because they have they PMs sent to friends only or they are just busy. wink

To answer your question, yes I have heard of Cloverfield. The teaser a while back got my attention, I forgot about it, then a friend asked me if I had seen the movie trailer that had no title. I was like ohhh yeaaa. Since then I've seen some images of the monster walk by in which I speculated that it was a Godzilla movie, since I heard somewhere that the director wanted to do a Godzilla remake. Then I found a little spoiler article on digg, which I opened but never read. I am still not entirely sure what the threat of the movie is, I will wait to watch it to find out. The movie seems like it might be interesting, it has a nice little gimmick going with the advertising of it. Hope that covers everything.

I've only seen the trailer ^^;; The trailer kept popping up when you watch stuff on NBC...how annoying. My sis said something being like Godzilla...is it related I wonder...

Hey there. Yeah, I usually go see a movie at least once per month, so I've seen the trailers a few times. Looks pretty interesting to me, and I like that they're taking a realistic angle on the chaos. I hope they pull through and don't disappoint with some bland monster after so much build-up =)
I think the advertising campaign is pretty clever in that not knowing what the cause of the disaster is kinda puts the viewer in the shoes of the people in the movie. One silly gripe I have is seeing the home video of the guy recording himself at a crazy resolution. It seems like he's using a camera phone or something but it looks like it's recording in HD ><

I'm really interested in seeing Cloverfield! I love how the identity of the monster is being kept in secrecy, and how the movie is filmed in a more shakey camera style. Unfortunately though, a few weeks ago I ended up on a website which a friend linked me to regarding something else, but they also had a leaked official image of exactly what the Cloverfield monster looked like-- even its relative scale! Major spoiler! mad
Even though it won't be a total surprise for me anymore, I'd still really like to go see it. Hopefully I'll be there opening day! biggrin

I heard about it a few months ago and I've been sort of keeping up with the viral marketing campaign they've been doing; I sort of expect not to like the movie because the campaign built so much hype for it, but I really admire that strategy at the same time. If certain rumors are true, then it's definitely not the kind of film I'd expect to come out of this. I think a lot of people expect it to be made of fail after all of the viral, so it would be a pleasant surprise if it's actually a really good movie. 3nodding

Only heard about it today via Wired online.

I've heard of it, yeah, but I haven't paid too much attention so far. The concept for the movie sounds really, really good though - so I'll probably see it when it comes out if the reviews are decent from friends.

I've heard of it. I definitely want to see it. I'm worried that the trailers are too good and that I'll be disappointed in what looks like a "monster movie told from the guy on the street perspective". But I'm very interested.

Ahoy, matey!
I be greatly suspicious of any movie wit lotsa hype, radio ads, but not a single review just 3 days before it be arrivin' in theaters.
Yarr, I hope that be helpful to ye.
Truantduck

Of course I have, and I can't wait to see it! I'm a big fan of Lost, and of JJ Abrams. Everything he touches seems to turn to gold, and I'm really hoping that's the case here as well. Hopefully I'll be able to find out for myself this weekend!

Looks alright though likely not something I'd run to the theater to see ^^;
Taligator
Yes, I have heard of the movie Cloverfield and it looked utterly creepy and not something I'll be seeing. wink
I'm a scaredy cat like that ..
Westly
No, I haven't heard of it.
WhiteJoker
Considering the movie's not out yet, I can't think much of it as speculation is not fact. All I do know of it comes from a single radio advert and a single television commercial, both of which were incredibly unenlightening as to what Cloverfield was, besides a movie that would be coming to theaters relatively soon. As I know next to nothing about it I can't form an opinion about it, though I have to say that the incredibly spotty commercials weren't much of a draw for me as it did not rouse my curiosity but rather my disinterest.
Wolfie
I haven't had the chance to see Cloverfield yet, but I'd like to!
