Guidelines for Posting in the RP forum
If you're not sure which forum to post your new thread in, here's a guide:
Post in the RP Community subforum if your thread is:
+ A place in Crosshaven.
+ A description of your character doing something or having a moment of introspection.
+ Any RP thread.
There are topics in the main forum where you can:
+ Bring up an important OOC issue for discussion.
+ Ask the Crew a question.
Post in the OOC Chatterbox if you are posting a new thread to:
+ Say hello and introduce yourself to other Crosshaven RPers.
+ Getting together with players, finding friends.
+ Personal announcements, like you're leaving for a while, etc.
+ Any other non-RP thread.
All members are free to create RP threads in this forum.
Each thread in this forum usually represents a place in the town of Crosshaven, but some represent storylines, while others yet are simply character vignettes or a single scene.
Labeling threads:
Threads in this forum need labels. I know, I'm generally against labeling, but topics have no feelings to hurt:
*LOCALE* - This thread represents a crew-created place in the town of Crosshaven. These tend to be the main threads role players frequent. If a player-created thread becomes very popular, and the player wishes it, it may become a LOCALE. Locales are all open threads that anyone can post in.
*OPEN* - This is a thread created by a player that any other player is welcome to come and post in.
*SEMI-PRIVATE* - This thread has certain requirements for posting, or requires that you ask the thread creator for permission to join their RP. These requirements should be listed clearly in the first post.
*PRIVATE* - Only the creator of a private thread and the people they invite may post there.
*STORY* - This is a brief thread, created by the crew, that usually portrays a scene or event that has significance to the story (It could be a small insignificant plot point or a big meteor crash). These do not represent places, and are often continued in other places. You should probably read them if you want to keep up with main storylines.
Summarizing Threads (And other OCD Crew behavior)
Because most threads in Crosshaven represent a location, and since your Captain and crew are sticklers for keeping guild history, we track what happens in each thread and keep a summary of it somewhere on the first post of that thread.
Open threads will be maintained by the crew.
You can summarize your own private or semi-private thread periodically, just by jotting down major events for us. If you don't do this, we can do it for you.
Example:

If you are really opposed to the idea of crew summarizing your thread (Awww!) then let us know, and we won't fidget with it.
