Since a few of us are interested in this series, I thought I would make a topic about it. Just talk about suikoden, whatever about it. For those who don't play the suikoden games, now's our chance to entice you into doing so.
Ones I've played: III, IV, and V.
I love V, V was awesome. Georg Prime, Lun, and Miakis FTW! III was ok, sucked about no voices...IV was...unspeakably horrible.
108 characters is alot, yes?

Suikoden V was okay to me, but, there's nothing better than the original Suikoden and Suikoden II. They may have been 2D and with no voices, but, the characters are so much more quirkier.
Suikoden IV doesn't exist as far as I'm concerned.Dx
What sort of king is Lino en Kuldes, anyway? Wearing a salmon pink waistcoat and cut off jean shorts...>< UGH. Bad memories.
I don't like Miakias all too much, personally.
But, I despise Lyon. I'm sorry to anyone who likes her, but, she makes me simmer in rage. She - she... she's like Elencia... or Colette... but, a royal guard and wears different clothes from all the others and has this stupid hairstyle and acts like a naive little girl and can reckogonzie the true Prince anywhere and IS AN ASSASSIN!!!!!! So, really I just hate everyttoing about her.
Lun is awesome though. So is Logg and Kisara.
Woohoo for that family!
I like Roy, too. His mischief is cute and I actually feel sorry for him, sometimes as everyone seems to hate him. Faylen and Faylon are pretty good too.
Georg Prime is in Suikoden II as well.
Did you know that? He looks considerably more awesome. :3

yes, I heard several characters were also in suikoden II, and not just Viki and Jeane.
It's interesting, because if you bring four of the recurring ones into battle (viki, georg,killey, and lorelai) they do some sort of weird combination move that does nothing, least to my knowledge.
I like Faylen, she's also cute. I want to play II, I've heard a lot about it but can't find it anywhere!!

Aw, it's a shame you can't find it.
Do you have any favourite unites? I just love unites! Um... let's see... the Faylen and Faylon one, of course is good, as is the ones with Lun. I also like Viki's unite with the turtle just out of amusement.
By the wat, Ritapon was the saving grace of IV. Did you like playing it as much as I did? I was addicted!

Umm, I like...the one with the three ruin nuts, lun and subala's, Falena's finest (thats a lot of hits...), the hero's and roy's (mirror attack!), and...the one with Zerase and Levi.("My magic is bigger than yours!" contest!)

Suikoden II is the King of Games.
It has everything right, excellent music, stunning graphics (SPRITES, PEOPLE, SPRITES), decent characters, tons of choice and things to do. It is the best PSX game, the best RPG, it is simply the best.
III was the beginning of the end for Suikoden, but it was still yards above IV. The conversion from 2D to 3D was an okay decision considering the 3D models were adorable. Of course, Suikoden IV fired a broadside of ugly and destroyed the cute models for generic, ugly, I-wanna-be-realistic models.
I was soooo disappointed in V. I didn't like it at all.

Who's everyone's favourite character?
From Suikoden 1 I like Flik, Victor, Ted, and Gremio.
From Suikoden 2 I like Flik, Victor, Nanami, Jowy, and Kinnison!
From Suikoden 3 I like Hugo, Chris (Lady Chris kicks A**!), and Futch.
From Suikoden 4 I like ... Just Ted, I'm afraid...
And from Suikoden 5 I like ... Roy, and George.
But I really hate Lyon. I mean, really badly. She's everything I hate about Elincia x10. You really have to work hard to be hated that much, but there you go.
I love some of the bonus things though ... Like Killey gets the hyper trait if he eats cheese ... And George having cheesecake in his inventory is pretty priceless...! xd

i've only played 3, 4, and 5! 3 and 5 were good. 4; not so much...

ah..! Too many people who haven't played Suikoden 2. Such a shame..!
Whoops, I forgot Cecile and Thomas! I love those two. heart
And lots of Viki love! Primmy loves Viki too. I'm pretty sure Viki is her favourite character. Good thing she's in every game then, eh? ^_^

It's awesome too! 3nodding i've read some of the manga but not all of it. its WAY more funnier in the manga. it's actually kind of ironic because i hated doing the Geddoe storyline in the game but i loved reading the Geddoe squad moments in the manga! and i forgot to mention Aila and Jacques! there my favorites too! heart INGRID heart

well if only I could find a PS emulator and a Suikoden 2 download, then I could play it. Anyway... Favorites from #3: Chris Belle and Gadget Z Geddoe's squad Sharon Fulbar (or whatever that griffon's name was) Favorites from #4: haven't played it in a long time, so don't remember anyone. alright, I went back to playing suikoden IV (the one that doesn't exist) since now I found it much more bearable since learning the speed up trick (holding R1 during walking and sailing). I now finally have all 108 stars (wish I didn't have to, I wanted to kill Snowe) and now have some favorite characters.
Favs from IV:
Mitsuba (big sword!)
Jewel (I find her cute)
Kira (She's a pirate! Argh!)
Gretchen and Amaris (I think that's her name) (just like them. Cute sword girls)
Although the one thing I now find annoying is how similar a lot of the people are. I count about 10 each of archers and one-hand swordsmen ^^;;
you should join! we're so low on members it's irking me.

Mitsuba is very cute, yes~
She's one of the highlights of Suikoden IV.
Snowe was an utter jerk... seriously. I thought you were supposed to want to save that sort of character. Ted is cute, too, but, only because he's in the first game, too. Actually in this game, he's a little eerie.
Ameria, maybe?
The one with the fuzzy jacket?
I'm between liking and hating Sigurd and Hervey. But, Kika is cool.
I know! There are about six one-handed swordswomen in this game all with fairly dry personalities.
And this game made the diamond-standard characters of Kevin and Pam. That's right, people, KEVIN AND PAM. D:
