Our guild is in need of a new banner. So without further fanfare I am pleased to announce that our guild is sponsering an art contest to see who can design the most awesome banner for our guild. The contest will be open to all members of our guild. Each member will be allowed to post up to two entries. There will be two catagories for this contest. One for regular hand-drawn entries and one for computer enhanced drawings. The contest will begin on 2/1/08 and will end on 3/1/08. We are currently looking for judges for this contest, so if you are interested in becomming a judge for this contest then please let me know asap. We are still working on a list of prizes but for now all you need to know is that the winning entry will receive 50 k gold for their art work. Other prizes will include Thank You Envelopes for Dec 2007, Jan 2008, and Feb 2008. Good Luck Everyone. 3nodding

ok im here to help out on the technical graphs n stuff ...
the size of the current banner its really good i wont change it, thought originally the resolution was 70 i think for best (on computers) viewing it needs to be in 96 reso.
its size is 640x132 pixels and its a good size, since this is the original GT banner size i guess its just fair to keep it.
and for the smaller banner im thinking more like a tiny square shape...or as our old tiny one it can be just a selection of the original big one.
so...mmm yep that covers it.
any other tech faq...let me know.

I think I remember hearing something along the lines that guild banners had to be 200x40. Maybe we should check into that biggrin .

Question!
Does the banner have to be absolutely original? Like take Randolyn's sig for example. It's designed around a Shakugan no Shana art piece. Would that kind of thing be Ok for a GT banner too?

Does the banner have to be absolutely original? Like take Randolyn's sig for example. It's designed around a Shakugan no Shana art piece. Would that kind of thing be Ok for a GT banner too? I'm going to make my first executive decision and say that its okay to incorporate well known works of art into your banner designs, however please do not steal someone else's ideas for your design. stressed sweatdrop

Okay great news everyone. biggrin We now have our three judges for the art contest. The judges are: **drum roll** Layra-chan, lone_ronin, and myself.**applause** The art contest itself begins on 2/1/08, and as an added incentive the first person to post an entry in the contest will receive a special bonus prize of 5 k gold. biggrin Stay tuned to this thread for further updates as the starting date for the art contest draws nearer. 3nodding

By popular demand we are opening the new banner art contest a week early. As of right now 1/25/08 the contest is officially under way. And since we already have two entries; one from Koumaru and the other from ShadowLoutus they will each be receiving 5 k gold as a special bonus prize. And since I'm feeling very generous today we will also be giving away another 5 k gold to who ever posts the next entry (digital or hand-drawn). Good Luck everyone. 3nodding heart ninja pirate
