1. Who's in charge around here?HolyCrapLiz (that's me) is the captain of this guild. I created this guild, I maintain it, fix the artistic images, and lounge around doing nothing. SouthOfNeptune is my Vice-Captain seeing as how she is the one who taught me to knit. Either of us will be able to answer questions, help with conflicts, and throw parties whenever we can.
2. There are already four knitting guilds. Why another?Neither SouthOfNeptune or myself were satisfied with the current knitting guilds available. They either lacked modding skills, organization, included other sorts of crafts besides knitting, or they just didn't seem fun. We put together our guild in hopes of creating a more organized and enjoyable atmosphere for
knitters and
spinners, male and female, young and old alike, to find a common ground. We strive to make this knitting guild the most updated, growing, and entertaining guild of our day.
3. Are there any standards or requirements to join?The only requirement we'd like someone to have is the passion to knit. If you've never picked up needles before but you're thinking about learning, we'll love to have you here so we can help you learn! If you've been knitting for 28 years, we'd also love to have you in our guild so you could share your knowledge with us. Anyone who is willing can join this guild.
4. If I want to donate to the guild, do I use the the donation slot on the home page?Please do not donate using that form. We are only able to use that money to buy more subforums. We have our guild mule for which you can trade gold to which we will hold on to for the upcoming contests we are hoping to get started once we have more available members.
5. What do I do if I find something that is against Gaian ToS in the guild?Immediately report it to me or SouthOfNeptune so that we can report and delete the post.
6. I have a suggestion for the guild. What do I do?Either PM your suggestion to HolyCrapLiz or SouthOfNeptune. If we think it is in fact a good idea, we will consult the rest of the guild members so that everyone's opinions are heard or we might just implement your idea right away. It just depends on the nature of the suggestion.
7. I'd like to be affiliated with you.In the event that you would like to be KnitWit affiliate, please contact me through a PM with your guild name and what your guild does or is about and I will contact you as soon as possible to let you know if SouthOfNeptune and I agree on adding you (we pretty much add anyone).
8. Can I apply to be a moderator?Unfortunately, we do not take applications for moderators. SouthofNeptune and myself choose people to mod when we think they have a lot of knowledge and leadership skills which can help the guild members. Do not ask us; we will ask you.
9. Can I post in another guild or forum representing KnitWits?You may use our banners in your signatures or on your profiles but please do NOT post in public forums or other guild forums unless you've received permission from me ahead of time. The only reason we do this is because sometimes, people get overexcited about a new guild and they'll post links where it's not allowed, or they'll spam and that in turn makes us look kind of desperate and not so good. Sorry for the inconvenience.
