You don't like gay marriage?
Okay I'm a Bisexual Pagan and I was working at a Catholic nursing home in the dining room. Well back around Yule (kind of like the Pagan equivalent to the Christian Christmas) I told them a week in advance that I had to have off for a religious holiday and they asked so I had to tell them. Also a couple of months before hand I had let it slip to one of my co-workers that I was a Bisexual and that too ended up getting back to my boss. Well the Wednesday after Yule and Christmas I called to see when I was working next and the hostess that answered the phone said that I didn't work there anymore. So I think I was fired because I was Pagan and Bisexual.
So, don't have one!

i would request a copy of ur firing papers. if something seems off, talk to ur old boss personally. if it still seems off, then talk to an attorney. just don't jump into conclusions.

If it's a big deal to you, I would do just what wicked_faery said. It's unfortunate that people get laid off because of their sexual prefference, race, or beliefs. If your boss had a ligitamate (sorry if it's spelled wrong) reason for firing you, take that and leave it. If not, then he should feel bad for it.
But either way, people move on. And my question is: Do you really want to work in that negative of an environment anyway? If they don't want you there, they don't deserve you, right?
It sounds to me that they're in the wrong. And you deserve better treatment than that.

I agree with Wicked..I wouldnt jump to any coclusions, but I would do my research just to be safe...If we were to go around saying i was fired because i am gay, or because i am pagan without any proof of that reason and we took it to court we would one look like idiots, adn too give a bad impression about pagans and bisexuals/homosexuals/ and so on..not to mention it just wouldnt be smart ot waste the money on getting into court if the reason was a valid....but yes do what Wicked said and get the copies, and the like.

You souldn't have been fired period. but be sure thats why. Employers aren't aloud to disriminate religoin or sexuality. i can see there consern if youwere working with kids and they needed you to be a "model of catholic chasity" but you were working in a diner. find out why and then be polite with them. I say its not worth it to sue them or get pissed off because if they fired you because of your belief, then there was already some hostility. just find a new job and clear it up.

Acutally in some states it is not illegal to discriminate against those with different sexual orientations... It's wrong but still... SOOOOOO SORRY it took me long to reply lol. But yes I hope all is going well now ^_^

They should have called you and talked to you about it, not left it up the lady that answers the phones. Talk about unprofetional. Also, where you fired or laid off? That can make a difference in why you were let go. I'v been "laid off" because my mom was aresseted for giving people pot cookies (she was found inocent), but I don't have anyway to prove it sept that they had already hired someone elts when I when in for my check. Acording to them i was let go cuse "they didn't have the business."
