I'm in grade 12 now and I'm not sure if I really want to get into ECE (Early Childhood Education) and I was leaning more to photography. I have some pictures that I've taken from last summer when I went camping and I wanted to ask if you think if there o.k or what. In these pictures, the people in them are my family...well not all one them. lol. But man, some of the courses you take in photography are like crazy and expensive and the cameras @____________@ I'm not applying to college yet. I'm planing to stay an extra semester to make sure what I really want to get into.

I don't know a lot about photography, so I can't really tell you if your photos are good. But I can tell you that you should never, ever shy away from something just because it is expensive. This is your life's work and that's worth a little money, don't you think? Nothing about university or college is ever cheap, but the point is supposed to be that the cost is worth what you get in the long run - a fulfilling career that you truly enjoy.

i actually have time for once, so i'm going to critique your photos a little bit. please, if i say something you don't like, don't get offended, it's not personal.
ok, first off, your photos are good, for a beginner, but if you're considering photography as a carreer, you definitely should invest in some classes. ok. here goes.
1st. it's a great idea, and has nice placement, but it has really bad quality, and your horizon is a little off. maybe a more direct angle, rather than from above, might have helped as well.
2nd. once again, your horizon is a little off. also, it's a nice portrait, but you could have made it a little more interesting with a different placement. the light is really great, except for that little ray on his shirt. i love the textures on her face.
3rd. i'd suggest cropping that, because all that water and sky and everything really distracts you from the subject. i'd crop to about a centimeter from the model on the right side, and only a little on the left. and a little on top. also, your horizon is a little crooked, but other than that, i like it a lot.
4th. once again, the horizon is really off. also, the light is...well, terrible. the ocean looks fantastic, same with the sky and the rocks, but your model barely stands out at all. in my opinion, that photo might have been better sans model. but i think you have a really good placement, so with better light it would be a really great photo.
5th. i really, really like this one. might even be my favorite. the only thing that bugs me is the way the kid's red shirt is really distracting.
6th. pretty much the exact same thing as the fourth. i love the bird, though.
7th, 8th & 9th. these don't really interest me. it seems as though you didn't really put much though into it, just pointed and clicked. while that's fun, it doesn't always make great pictures. trust me, i should know. xD
10th. it's a nice idea, but i think you should have found a way to make the man stand out more. different angle, maybe?
that's it. oh! i concurr with chibi. if you really want to do it, you shouldn't let cost be an obstacle.

I just might go into photography. It has always sparked my interested. Next semester, which is in 2-3 weeks...I have photography Grade 11 ( Took grade 10 photography last year in grade 11). If this really works then I'm going to apply for photography in college.

Because it was a digital camera and not one of those ones with were you can change the aperture and the time, so you can get a certain amount of light into the camera....the pictures turned out like kinda like that. I really need to work on the horizon thing. lol Thank you so much, again. Oh and like I said in the other post, I'm taking grade 11 photography next semester. I really hope its not the same as the grade 10 photography were you make your own camera and use that! I want to use there nice big camera that they have. And I'll show you guys my photos if I'm able to take them home.

They look really good, better than what I could take. The first one looks like a pretty picture someone drew.
hmmmm, the 2 boys in pictures 6 and 7, what are their names?? If you don't mind me asking. I think I might know them from somewhere...
