The spirit hug is basically a psychic hug. To do this reach out psychic arms, grab your target, and hug them. If you do it right you should feel your psychic arms reaching through an area, for me it's darkness. It may take a couple grabs, but you'll know if you get your target. Pull them close and they will likely report anything ranging from a calm, tingly feeling to one identical to a physical hug.
