I agree, but I wouldn't really say that that's Ratchet's fault.

I always wanted to know why this happened.
In Ratchet and Clank: Going Commando, back on the Flying Lab on Planet Aranos, I think, Ratchet was determined to save Angela. However, when he finally destroyed the Thugs-4-less leader and his robot, he was about to leave without her. A complete change in personality! That's one of the reasons why I don't like the second game as much...screwed story plots.

I think that he was determined to save Angela then he was pretending not to be however they don't mention this
