Jet came up to the door of his room and unlocked it with one of only two keys and General Bar had the other one. Jet opened the door and walked in, dragging Winter in behind him and giving her a seat as he sat down on his bed.

There was a echoing knock at the door. Illuminatus's voice hissed through it like a snake. "I have news, Heir."

Tetsu briskly walked past Vragen. "As far as I know, you're not s'posed to be here." He hissed angrily, disappearing quickly into the shadow of Illuminatus.
Katie followed him, not saying a word and only looking at his back.

"Hello, Vragen," Illuminatus said, raising his spiked forearm guard in a Sarádwan salute. Tetsu rose into the air behind Illuminatus, clearly lifted at the throat by an invisible force. "Show some respect," said Illuminatus calmly, as Tetsu wriggled and coughed before Illuminatus released him. He fell with a heavy thump to the ground.

Katie gasped loudly and threw her hands over her mouth. "No!" She gasped again and looked at Illuminatus horrified, depressed and sad at the same time, also with a look of 'How could you?' in her eyes.
She kneeled down on the ground and took Tetsu in her arms. She sighed silently. Things had been bad already, and Illuminatus only made it worse.

Jet opened the door letting Vragen in first, followed by Illuminatus whom he greeted with a knowing glance(referring to the Tetsu thing), and then helped Katie bring Tetsu in and laid him down on Jet's bed, Katie taking a seat by his head. Illuminatus and Vragen were still standing and finally Seth walked him, out of breath from running. Seth took a seat in the corner, catching his breath. "You really need to learn how to teleport Seth."
Seth smirked. "Nothing wrong with exercising. You'll get fat if you don't."
Jet laughed a little before turning to Illuminatus. "For one thing, the thing with Tetsu was uncalled for. Let try to not have this happen again. Now, what news do you have for me?"

"I don't like it when people think they can avoid consequences for their actions by hiding behind me." Illuminatus drew Jet aside and said, "Yuki's back, but something's wrong. The spell's not working like it should, you know, a slow continual drain until we're dead and the debt's paid. There are energy fluctuations, things out of place. I can sense people's life force going up and down like waves, all over the city. What's happening?"

Jet looked Illuminatus in his eyes. "On Saraga, it's all for one and one for all, just like the Muskateers were back on Earth. We all pay for the actions of other here. If someone brings back a life, all of our lives begin to pay the price. The majority of my people will become sick within five hours and will stay that way until the debt is paid. Our ancestors don't care if it's Yuki and Katie's souls that are given back or someone elses. They just want the two souls that they are owed. What I did to Winter to try and help caused me pain. I gave her health basically, so some health was taken from me. There is a consequence for everything you do here. The smaller the thing you do, the smaller the consequence, but the bigger the action, the bigger the consequence. Yuki and Katie did one of the things that are forbidden here and it's a mirical that I haven't been advised to kill them both to please our ancestors. That's why I didn't like the idea. Illuminatus, when the soul thing is done for Yuki and Katie, the four of you, meaning Yuki, Katie, and the two people that they intrust with their souls, will most likely be hospatilized for a shorter time than I was."

Tetsu coughed and Katie messed with his hair, taking his bangs out of his eyes as he lie there.
She listened well and heard everythign that was going on. The conversation, the noises outside, Tetsu's slow breathing, everything going on in the room, the beating of several hearts... and the rapid thumping of her own. She was depressed for whatever reason, and whatever it is couldn't be good.

"Then they'll get them," said Illuminatus. "But if that should fail, there is another way." He looked off into the distance and spoke slowly. "The darkest of spells... Forbidden even among the cruelest of Lords, there is a spell that can force someone's soul to become a sacrifice, placing the shadowscript of the debt upon the other." Illuminatus looked back at Jet. "But as I said, the price upon the user is great. Wielders of evil are rarely handsome. Why? Because their art will eventually distort their features if they don't get surgery or use a 'beautifying' spell. And the mental consequences are dire as well. Furthermore, the place where the sacrifice of another unwillingly made forever will become a place devoid of life, with and aura both hollow and empty."

Tetsu opened his eyes slightly and touched Katie's face, then opened them wider to look around.
"Dammit lay down!" Katie scolded loudly. Tetsu had just stared at her. "I'm sorry. Please lay down." She said in a quieter voice.
There was no reason for Katie's bursts of anger. What was going on?
