Event Specific Rules The Colloseum: Of Honor and Empires will contain several event mechanics which will cause avatar contests to be run ever so slightly different. It will also contain several event factors linked to the contests of the likes you have never seen before! In this post, event rules will be compiled, along with the rules of chapter specific activities. Make sure to check in with each new feature to see how it will be run!
Overall contest rules:
Completing contests should help in the process of revitalizing the colloseum and regaining the favor of the Gods. With the favor of the Gods, the Oracle will slowly but surely regain her powers to assist in unravelling the mystery of assasination of Emperor Servus Venatus! But 'lo, do not take this as a reason to rush things, and enter half-heartedly! The God's will be displeased with such shoddy material, and you never know what other complications may come from such laziness...
With this said, let us examine the specifics of event contest rules.
1.) Contest entries are to be sent to Oracle Renaulta Julia. 2.) Contest entries are to be anonymous. No identifying, to anyone, which entry is yours until the end of a contest! 3.) Failure to remain anonymous will lead to disqualification in said contest. 4.) Entries must be contest specific. Using old and identifiable avatars is forbidden. 5.) Tektek is, of course, allowed. 6.) Aside from this, contests will run much the same as usual, with a poll to ten and a judging. 7.) Embrace the Gladiator spirit! For the late Emperor!

Chapter Updates An Ill Wind...
"...It is a fickle thing, attempting to pinpoint the turning point in the history of the colloseum. So many events, so many signs, all of which waning the great institution from it's prestigious golden age to a sordid glum, that, infact, it becomes much easier to casually accept it as inevitable. All that truly is known, is that it has been many months since the remission has been all too obvious. The Colloseum is quiet, unappreciated, unkempt, and tumultuously in disrepair. Only but a handful of devoted gladiators remain, traversing the premises this way and that, a reminiscent melancholy in their hearts and souls. The Halls are cold and depressed.
And in so, our Colloseum, our greatest achievement, is nothing. In this, our Nation has slowly but surely begun to see omens of the loss of our Gods' favor. Failed harvests, disease, corruption in the Senate. The Gods chastise our disregard for that which represented our honor and dignity. The Colloseum has waned, and our country has followed.
The shadows have become... uncomfortable, at times. I cannot put my finger on it, but I often feel as if I, the watcher, am being watched, that my friends and comrades are being watched. The oracle bones do not temper my fears... They dance and crackle so strangely in the fires. What could this mean?"
Of Blood and Brotherhood.
"I write these words with a trembling breath and saddened heart, as they will record the fruition of my darkest prophecy. The shadows have taken their form. The Gods' have posed their challenge. The Nation's future lay in the balance, and the method in which this challenge is posed... the assasination of our great Emperor, Servus Venatus.
Our enemy is an enigma. In the night, a convocation of cutthroat emerged from the shadows with blade and magic, and therein committed their nefarious acts, before dispersing once more into the darkness from which they came, leaving no clues, no leads... only sorrow. Lady Verona of the Indiciums, was the one to discover the body. Before long, the wizened veterans of the Colloseum were at the side of the crime scene, and justly, was there confusion, sadness, and helplessness.
There was no clear plan of action to be taken. Some wanted revenge, some thought the Colloseum was cursed and should be destroyed, and some were even ready to simply accept it, and move on with their lives as if it were another setback in the once glorious Colloseum. Needless to say, though, that these stances were at odds, and that we were not exempt for the thralls of chaos.
But alas, revenge was tactless and without direction, destruction of an accursed building was just silly, and forgetting about it was simply out of the question. Thus, alongside the Indiciums, I arranged a plan of restoration to rekindle the spirit of the Colloseum. Although recieved sketchy by some, considering our situation and lack of direction, there was ultimately acceptance. After all, the Colloseum was the greatest achievement of our late Emperor. Is it not worth it to honor it?
As we look forward, we see but a listless fog... but we must press on, for honor, and the Empire. Perhaps, just perhaps, in these efforts, we will find our light at the end of the tunnel. Only time will tell..."

Charecter Bios Oracle Renaulta Julia
Role - Blind Seer of the Colloseum, guide to the intrepid gladiators
Status - Searching for answers
Biography - The unassuming daughter of a shoemaker, Renaulta begun losing her sight at the tender age of seven, but in hind sight, as she will say to those she trusts, she would have given anything for it to have been but simple blindness, and not the emergence of her gift. Renaulta began gaining a much different kind of sight, far sight, vision and premonitions of that which was to come. It began with simple things; moving a pie that was destined to be knocked over by the hound, shielding her friends from bird droppings, finishing other peoples sentences, but quicking progressed. She would forsee the arrival of guests, predict weather, predict her father's customers, her premonitions greater and greater, and further seeing.
This eventually garnered the attention of the wrong people, and not an unsuspecting night, Renaulta awoke in a cold sweat, to a cruel premonition, just hours late to act upon. A local bandit king had heard of the girls powers, and desired it for his own use. Moments after her awakening, she heard a crash through the window... Soon after, her fathers scream. Then after, a group of men burst into the bedroom, where she lay with her mother. As the girl was snatched from the comfort of her blankets, well, one need not be a seer to know the fate of her parents.
The child would then spend the next five years in service to the bandit lord as his seer... and plaything. If her predictions went awry, she was beaten, if correct, he celebrated in ways unmentionable.
But 'lo, those with cruel hearts, do get their come uppance in the end. On one fateful day, a premonition arrived in her mind. She acted upon it.
"Child, tell me of what fortunes come my way today," the Lord remarked.
"Of course, Sire," she replied. "Today I see, that you will die."
"What did you say, you filthy cripple?!" The crime lord rasped in a frustrated rage, grabbing Renaulta by her shoulders in an attempt to violently shake her. But alas, Renaulta would answer his question post haste, delivering a dagger into his gut the moment he came in range. "I said, today I see, that you will die."
Minutes later, did a squad of gladiators burst through the door to enact justice upon the guild, only to find that the child had beaten them to it.
Having heard of her talents, and her situation, Emperor Servus Venatus had sent for the child's rescue, and her deliverence unto the safety of the Colloseum grounds. Since then, Renaulta has served the Colloseum graciously and has done all she can to work towards its betterment. In lieu of these tragedies, she knows she cannot be disheartened by yet another death in her life; she is no longer but a child, destined to serve whomever keeps a knife to her throat. She is the Oracle.

Organizer Stuff Here's a quick run down of what I'll need from you guys!
1.) If I haven't sent a friend request to you already, please befriend Oracle Renault Julia, so that I can send you urgent updates when nessecary!
2.) Although contest entries are sent to the Oracle, they will be forwarded to the late Emperor's office for the attendance of the organizers. Contest entries are sent to the Oracle to ensure anonymity!
3.) Sadly, if an entry is sent directly to the Emperor's office, or posted in the thread, it must be denied. Only entries which go through the Oracle and recieve anonymity may be accepted.
4.) Contest data should continue to be compiled in the contestant database. As I said before, things will be run much as they always have.
5.) Your assistance, as I've said before, is paramount! My formal colloseum organizer skills are meager at best, I will admit, and it is urgent that you guys keep up your jobs of compiling contestants and judgings, announcing winners, and keeping the data spick and span.
6.) For now, please allow me to announce the next contests. Soon enough, I will have a contest list for all of you to use, but for a while, each contest progression will have storyline significance, so I need to keep my hand on it for now!
Thank you very much for allow your assistance and support, everyone. We've got a lot of work ahead of us... but we must do it! For Honor! For the Empire!
