The Setting: Up-State New York. Around 30 acres of woods left, and in the center a small, worn out house. There is snow on the ground for most of the year, although it doesn't snow that often. There are all sorts of trees, from pine and maple, to apple and white oak. Not much light reaches the floor of the woods, so not much new plant life grows. Most of the trees are healthy old cretures, but there are a few fallen trees, set at seemingly random spots. Around the rim of the woods, about 200 yards apart, are 'Keep Out' signs.
The Story: The rumor is that the woods are haunted. By what or who, no one knows. Most teenagers enjoy daring each other to enter the woods, and look for the old house, but not many have the guts to go all the way. There have even been a few that have entered, and never returned. No one says anything, because the police don't want anyone going in because of 'unknown dangers'. For not even the police have to courage to go into the woods.
The Truth: There are people...living in the house, as a few have found out. The people are not humans, but vampires and have owned the woods for a few centuries. The woods used to be a few thousand acres, but development has left it just a small section, protected by its inhabitants. The vampires are kind to most that enter, but if one of the occupants feel that the strangers are not here because of a house call...well then most of the time, nothing is left to be found.

Her anger gets the better of her more often then not. She is not befriended easily, and most of the time thinks of humans as food.

Blaze stood by the door of the house and watched the snow on the ground. The trees blew in the wind, and a light snow fell from the sky. She smiled, knowing soon another human would wander into the woods, looking for her house.

She walked from the door and sat down infront of the fireplace, where the red-orange flames danced on the logs. She leaned back and closed her eyes, seemingly asleep, but waiting for the sound of breaking twigs. Sighing she crossed her arms over her chest, getting more and more impatient every second.
