I just heard this song in the past couple of days, and when I heard it I thought of another pair of characters, too, but I also thought of Page and Nakia. Mainly the chorus, not the verses.
I just imagine when Nakia and Nathaniel were first falling for each other they really didn't want to love each other, you know? Because they knew how hard it would be on them and what-not. This song is how they felt at first.
