Since we're all Phantom phans, would you like to visit the Paris Opera House for real? I certainly would! I would sit in Box 5!

It's not the Paris Opera House, it's the Opera Populaire....

Actually, it is the Paris Opera House, or the Palais Garnier as I prefer it. The Paris Opera House is never referred to as the Opera Populaire - at least in my experience - outside Phntom because I believe it is more or less a term used only by Andrew Lloyd Webber.

Yes, that was a snob moment brought to you by me.

I wouldn't mind going to Opera House myself, but I hear the tour guides and staff members are sick and tired of Phantom phans.

Heh, I'm not suprised.

It IS unnaturally similar though... The lake is even there. O.O

Xalio, are you making reference to the fact that ALW's Opera Populaire is eerily similar to the Paris Opera House? If so, I should *hope* there's some similarity as that is his setting.. O.o;

I'd go to see it. 3nodding i wanna look at the lake...

Yes, I am Fuoko.. but anyway, it's still fairly unnatural that everything is where it should be for it to actually occur.. that's rare, even for stories built around a real place.

Leroux was a journalist writing a novel of verasimilitude, so he is going to do his best to research and get the details correct for his story. He did base a lot of his story and characters on real events and people, so it isn't at all surprising. It's not eerie or unnatural - just well-researched. Besides, who can ignore a lake under an opera house? It's a lovely and eccentric feature that cannot be neglected.

You know, Kiddie, a lot of people have wanted to see the lake, but they don't lead tours down there anymore if they ever did. So no lake, unfortunately. Neither do they let people up on the roof, either.

Sorry. I'm meant the Opera Populaire. The Opera Populaire is based on the Paris Opera house.

Well, I find it unnatural.

So, Xalio, you find someone basing books off actual places unnatural? I suppose all those authors who go to a location to research for their novels are probably really unnatural to you, too, because, you know - we can't actually write a story that takes place somewhere that actually exists and be accurate about, now can we? Oh, no, that'd just be too unnatural and eerie for too people to take. Like, omg, there's a lake in Phantom - and, wait, get this - there's actually one at the Paris Opera House, too! Like, omg! Like, Coincidence? Like, I think not!

Dude, Xalio, to quote Willy Wonka: 'you're weird. biggrin '

(Sorry, I can't help myself. heart I love you Xalio.)

Phantom3890, why are you apologizing? You got it right. surprised It's the Paris Opera House. The Opera Populaire doesn't exist - it's called the Paris Opera House and it's the exact same thing, really.

I don't think he ever said "you're weird"... I think he only really said "That's weird." Johnnie (I can't spell his name) Depp is too darn good...

Regardless, I find it unnatural!

Sorry (again) it's just that everyone is mad at me for calling the Opera Populaire the Paris Opera House and flooding me with confusing comments.

It's Daemon's own fault for not being intelligent.
