This really only applies to the self-proclaimed marxists here, though anyone with any similar obscurity of reference used in normal conversation is welcome to bring it up:
Now, in everyday conversation I use words and concepts from, well, the marxist canon in general and Marx's works in particular, though it is by no means limited to Marx, I use a few from Lenin and I have a few choice ones from Engel's unfinished Dialectics Of Nature.
Examples range from the the simple use of colours to represent opposition or any other relationship:
Red, White, Purple, and occasionally with some derision, Green, Pink, and Black.
From Marx's /18th Brumaire/ (One of the greatest books in terms of style I must say. Everyone, go out and buy a copy -- or just be cheap and get a badly transcribed version of .org...) There are such things as the whole Uncle/Nephew relationship, calling people by their 'historical counterpart': Just as '48 tried to recreate '89, October recreated the Commune, only the former didn't let Blanqui go to gaol (See, that is the type of reference I mean!).
Do others do similar?
Though t be honest, it was /The 18th Brumaire/ (That title is actually one...) which turned me toward such references, and just as in that, not a few of mine are sarcastic...
And, more importantly for me, how many of you get the references I make?

I get a lot of them, but I'd get more if I had the kind of time that I used to for studying things of my own interest... these days, most of my reading on Marxism is somehow tied to a class I'm taking.
