Don't need beer or drugs
To let myself go.
Don't need to smoke
to relax.
All I need really,
is a trampoline.

That's my high.
Just spending time with friends
allowing myself to relax.
Watching the world happen
For once, glad
that I wasn't in it.

That's my high.
being able to laugh.
Watching my friends act stupid.
Talking and laughing with them.
The feeling of the loud beat
of Rammstein.
Eating pizza
Drinking Dew.
That's my high.

I don't need beer or drugs
Or anything else.
They're just temporary.
And they make people forget
I like to remember.
And that's all part
of a natural high.

I wrote this poem Oct. 8, 2006. It's one of my favorites, because it's so true. There's not much else I can do to describe the poem, other than it seems like broken English, but I did that on purpose; purely for the "rhythm" or whatever that word is....
Anyway, I hope to get lots of feedback about it. 3nodding

I usually don't like poems that are written like this, but I try not to judge things based on their style. That would be very rude of me.
But you like it a lot, and that's what matters most. ^-^

So, anyway, I like the idea behind the poem. Very motivational and empowering.
When I read it, I could almost put music to the words. It would make a very interesting song.

There's not much else that I can think of to say, other than I'm sorry that I prefer poems to rhyme at least a little bit. o.o;
Overall, though, it's good. Nice work. <3

I typically don't like poems like this, but this particular one has been very well written! I congratulate you! You remind me of a friends who is also a very good poet indeed. ^^ You are obviously very talented.

You poem also has a true meaning and I completely agree with you. Too many people want to grow up too fast, but they shoudl instead hold tight to every day and enjoy life.

I also agree with Kitty, this particular poem would be very good put to music.

Keep up the good work and never lose sight of you inspiration! You're an awesome poet! See ya'!
