The wind ruffled his light auburn hair as he turned to look at the same gate he walked by so many times. He never gave much thought to it until his curiosity got to the best of him.
"Mommy?" He called out timidly as he walked parallel to it while hand-in-hand with his mother. Her familiar smile comforted him as she turned to look at him.
"Yes?" She replied.
"What's that for?" He asked, pointing at the gate.
"Oh, it's none of our business. It's suppose to be there to protect us." She answered in a light and happy tone.
"Pwotect? From what?"
"Don't ask so many questions, sweetie. Probably from bad people."
Little do they know, or anyone else for that matter. The "bad people" are not exactly what they expect. Most aren't even considered people... Ever since the dawn of time, creatures which were rumored as monsters walked the land even before the dinosaurs or humans. They were considered the high status beings at the time. Dinosaurs and cavemen were both scared of them. These "beings" soon split up into two different colonies which you may recognize: vampires and werewolves. The two were always at war with each other, never at rest. After the dinosaurs disappeared, they still lived fighting each other to the grave. After many centuries, humans began to evolve. They had a more different, smarter way of thinking: they thought the vampires and werewolves would destroy their race. The humans tried everything possible to kill or chase them away. They tried and tried without success but the two colonies had enough. Using their combined powers, they created an indestructible gate that will forever separate the three races. Though the gate seemed only to cover a few miles, but that was a charm cast on it when it was made. Inside, there's a whole other world! One side of it belongs to the vampires; while the other side to the werewolves. The two lands are separated by a thick forest which supposedly held enchanted powers. After the construction was done, they continued the war, neither side wanting to stop until the other is wiped out. After the other is down, the goal is to enslave the humans who have shunned them into hiding... …well, that's all about to change...

Post 7: Setting (updated daily) Vampires.
They're not your average stereotyped creatures of the night from those old movies. No, the vampires in the movies were portrayed after the weakest of vampires. These creatures are ordered by levels from highest to lowest. Altogether, there are 4 ranks: Royalty, Important, Average, and Peasant. These ranks are given according to your status, power, and wealth. Unlike the human social system, these ranks are very important and you'll be labeled it. Very few people are in Royalty or Important; those are for leaders or strong warriors. Most fit into Average and some into Peasant. Blood.
Of course, they have the basic sucking blood thing; though, it's not as easy as it seems. They prefer to feed on either werewolves or Peasants that are captured. Peasants are usually extremely weak and will die easily after been bitten. Werewolves and the higher classed vampires won't die but something more unexpected happens: they'll share an exchange of blood and will be bonded to each other. Say if a vampire bites, instead of that oh-so-typical pain, it actually feels pleasurable (unless you're a human, duhh). When you drink someone's blood, you'll be more dependent and will need to feed on that person's blood more than usual and vice versa. If that person were to die, it'd be like quitting a serious drug addiction which is, not good. If you immediately move on to another bond, you'll be fine though. When the two of you do exchange blood, you'll also be able to tap into each others' minds and thoughts. Careful whose blood you drink though, you just might get attached. Vampires DO in fact need blood to survive. They can eat regular food and drinks but they need blood once in a while. If you haven't had blood in a while, you will feel really weak and eventually, you will pass out. If you do pass out due to your thirst for blood, your raw vampiric senses will kick in and you will become the monster movies describe you as. If you don't get any blood within an hour of when you passed out, the monster effect fades and you will die. Powers.
Other than the blood sucking thing, you also get your very own powers. No two people can have the same power because everyone was created differently. Please nothing like "I am God" or "power of ice." C'mon, can this be any more over-used? Each power is unique and not easily thought of. Only people in the Royalty class have power over elements. (Note: If you are in the Royalty class, think realistically and know that elements are very hard to control >.<) To tap into your power, you have a source that should help you concentrate your energy into power. It's usually in a simple shape of a piece of jewelery, something you never take off. The stronger you are, the more focus items you'll need. Without your focus item(s), you can still use you're power but it'll be very wild and hard to direct (as in it'll fly all over the place). Aside from that, you also have your basic growing claws that can be activated at anytime.
Vampires and werewolves are just like humans except they're more...advanced. As in, they're like stronger and faster than usual.
Living.
Yes, they can breathe. If they didn't, they'd die. Their capital city is really really big and looks somewhat like our modern-day New York City. There are tall buildings, many stores, and a wild night-life. Basically, they're what you call the party animals. In their city, they have many bars, clubs, parties, you name it! They all love a thrill. Of course, they never get tired of it because they stay in one age forever! While the city is really modern and they have their own technology like the human, there's a stone castle far off in the distance on the edge of the border. The castle is as big as a small city and of course, huge. In it is supposedly the Princess of vampires and her trusted servants or friends, which are also a part of the Royalty class. No one but a few close people in the Royalty class has seen the Princess. The thing is, her scent blends in perfectly with a crowd of vampires so no one knows. The only thing different about this princess is that she's actually the age she seems: a newborn. Goal.
The main goal, as I already established in the first post, is to defeat anyone in the canine family and to make peace with the humans by all means necessary. Most people know the goal and will do anything to get to it while some just want peace. …when he looks around Hell and realizes that he is alone...

Even the Devil may cry… Werewolves.
They're just as advanced in everything as the vampires and humans but just have a different way of showing it. Unlike the blazing lights and wild city lives of the vampires, they prefer country houses and rural communities. They don't care about rankings much and pretty much sees everyone eye to eye. There is a small government for them but that's basically it. No one cares about status or wealth. Everyone has around the same income and amount of money no matter what they do. Food.
No, they don't savagely feast on raw meat. They eat vegetables just like you and me with the occasional uncontrollable cravings for meat; nothing too out of the ordinary xD. Sure they eat regular human food but their main diet consists of meat: not raw. They can survive a few weeks eating normal food but they still need raw meat. It's not that they can't survive without it, it's just that something inside them needs it. Some have survived without it, some eat it all the time, it depends on you. There's something about vampire meat that makes it all the more tempting...
Powers.
Their powers are less like the vampires. They have the good ol' fashion way of fighting...well, kind of. They usually use guns or daggers, something like that. They too have powers though, the less offensive type. Only a few werewolves were born with offensive-type powers, the rest are more for protection. They use their powers just like spells. Charms, curses, enchantments are all a part of their specialty. They are equally as strong when it comes in battle. Since the vampires don't use guns, they have somewhat of an advantage. The werewolves are incredibly fast and strong too. They can easily over-power some of the weaker vampires of the average class. They all have advantages and disadvantages. Living.
Yes, like the vampires, they're alive. As I mentioned earlier, they live in the "countryside." They're actually more calmer and organized species. They live in cute little modern houses just like the humans. They don't have much of a city or too many bars/clubs. That's one reason to sneak into the vampire city. Their city is actually very organized and neat like one of those Beverly Hills commercials where everything is perfect. There are often disagreements between citizens though. That and the war are their only conflicts; other than that, it's nice and calm. The government, like the princess, is almost never seen in public. They do vote and everything. Goal.
They want death upon all bloodsuckers, as they say. Since they're smart and came up ways to hide their scents, they make very good spies! They think that once they kill the Princess of vampires, victory will be easier. …when he looks around Hell and realizes that he is alone...

Reno and Taesha have been training but eventually drifted away. Tae ended up in a bar, where she met Jessica for the first time when they bumped into each other. An unamed vampire was flirting with Tae when her brother Reno came and threw him against a wall. Security from the bar poured out and...

Reno stood in the park, sweat ran down his face as he finished a long morning of training with his sister. He picked up a towel that laid on the ground at his feet and wiped the sweat off his face, his handcuffs clinged against one another. He walked over to a park bench and sat down, propping his elbows on the back part of the bench. "Your really good Tae," he said, his voice deep and almost evil sounding.

Taesha attempted to slow her breathing as she bent down and picked up a towel, that she had casted aside earlier to spar with her brother, and wiped her face gently as the chains of her handcuffs rattled softly. She followed her brother to the bench and sat down, leaning back against the back of the bench. As she heard her brother's words, she couldn't help but smirk. "As good as I may be, I am not good enough. We still have a great many years of training to do before we are strong enough to pass into the next rank. But as for today, you did pretty well yourself, Ren." Taesha's womanly musical voice sounded in reply.

Reno's eyes shifted towards his sister and he smirked,"Thanks, but it wont be to much later that we will advance in our rank," he said with a smirk then looked up into the sky at the clouds. Then down to his handcuffs, he was always fascinated with them for some reason, whether it be it helps give his opponents more of an advantage or the power it gives him, same for his eyepatch. Reno played with his handcuffs for a minute. then stopped and looked out arcoss the park at the other people walking around or doing something to pass time maybe.

Soon my brother and I shall avenge your deaths, and rid the world of the Lycans, whom have caused our race many great casulties.' Taesha thought to herself before looking back to her brother. "Thats true indeed," he paused," thats why we have been training so much, to prepare for.... that day." He sighed an stood up from the bench he was sitting on and it creaked, showing wearness. He threw the towel over his shoulder and without saying anything to Tae he began to walk away, his hands in his pockets. He didnt know where he wanted to go, he just wanted to walk.... somewhere.

Taesha watched as Reno walked off, before she stood and streched before walking off in the opposite direction, headding towards a 24-hour club to pass the time untill her brother got back from his alone time. in the meantime she would be having fun, ridding her self of all the stress that she kept well hidden from her brother.

Reno continued his walk through the opposite end of the park, turning up at a lake. He looked around not seeing anyone around and walked over to a tree that grew right beside the lake and shaded supplied good shade. He sat down under the tree, his bear back against the rough bark of the tree.

Taesha would soon enter one of the most over populated Clubs in the city, quickly making her way to the bar to sit and reawx while listening to the music. Sure it got loud and noisy, but the music was allways just what she needed to hear to relax herself and let her stress melt away into the beat, if only for a little while. She smiled as she watched random couples dancing to the beat as they danced their troubles away.
