Summary- “Shh…Sasuke…you were always my obsession…” the blonde grinned one last time

------------------------------------------------------

“Naruto! Oi Naruto we are going to be late! Wake your a** up!”

Blue eyes snapped open in shock at the yelling on his right ear. The blonde quickly sat up, looking around his room with the most confused and sleepy look his face could express. “W-what? Wait! How?” He mumbled out, before his mouth widened in a long yawn.

“Its already ten Naruto, come on, wake up.” Sakura let a soft sigh escape from between her lips, her brows furrowing in annoyance. “You are going on a mission remember? You don’t want to make Sasuke-kun wait.” The pink-haired girl crossed her arms over her chest and tapped her foot against the hard wood floor. She was still waiting for Naruto to at least get out of bed!

Naruto gasped softly, his eyes quickly narrowing, showing a determined look that he would just show during missions. “Right, we need to look for Sasuke.” The blonde was on his feet in less than a second, his eyes quickly scanning the room for some clean clothes. Since when was his apartment so clean? He ended up blinking at the neatness of the room but just shrugged it off and went to the bathroom to change.

“Look for Sasuke-kun?” Sakura tilted her head against her shoulder in an odd way, just confused over Naruto’s words. “More than likely he is looking for you right now you idiot. You were suppose to be leaving with him at around eight.” She shook her head hopelessly, waiting for Naruto to get out of the bathroom before patting his shoulder and giving him a small smile. “Don’t get hurt, ne?” The younger girl then lean down to kiss Naruto’s forehead before leaving the apartment with a small wave. “Be careful!” she yelled out after closing the door.

Naruto could only stand there in shock. “Did she just...?” The blonde let a grin spread across his face and then gave himself thumbs up! “Sakura-chan kissed me!” He snickered in between his lips, just looking at himself on the mirror and smirking in a fake arrogant way though it soon turned into a frown and a very confused look. “Wait…what did she mean by Sasuke waiting for me? That means…” Naruto let his eyes narrow before quickly taking off, jumping out of his window and off from roof to roof, his eyes looking for a familiar raven-haired boy.

The blonde almost fell off from one of the roofs when he saw what he was looking for. Sasuke was sitting on the ground next to the Konoha gates. It was pretty easy to notice that the raven was annoyed and probably pissed over Naruto being late, but the blue-eyed boy didn’t care. With a fast swing Naruto let his fist land on the boy’s cheek, sending him down against the ground with a loud groan.

“Naruto! What the hell! You are late and on top of all you show up punching me!” The Uchiha glared at Naruto, his sharingan showing up lightly before his normal dark eyes were back.

Naruto growled and grabbed the other by the neck of his shirt, shaking the other by it before leaning close to the teen while yelling, “When did you get back!?”

“What are you talking about?” Sasuke frowned and tilted his head, wondering what was wrong with the blonde.

“Don’t play dumb you a*****e! When did you get back! Did you get tired of Orochimaru or something?” Naruto narrowed his eyes slowly, watching the raven’s expression not changing even one bit.

Sasuke merely shoved the blonde away, brushing some dirt off of his clothes before standing up, giving the blue-eyed boy a dirty look. “You are crazy Naruto. I don’t know what’s wrong with you! I don’t even know who this Orochimaru is.” The Uchiha shrugged his shoulders and then helped the blonde out with a smooth look on his face. “Now, if you are done with your little joke, can we go and do our mission? I want to be here before it gets dark, plus you have a date with Sakura remember?”

Naruto could only stare at the other, and with out thinking he nodded his head and followed the Uchiha. What was going on? Why was it that Sasuke was in Konoha and didn’t know about Orochimaru? And why was he going out with Sakura-chan! The blonde was completely confused and just couldn’t find a logical answer for anything, unless everything had been…”It was a dream?” Naruto whispered softly to himself so he couldn’t disturb the raven-haired boy that was trying to find the location of their mission.

It was impossible. Everything had been a dream? There was no other explanation. The blue-eyed boy smiled softly and then just let a grin spread on his face! This was better than his dream, this reality was what the blonde always wanted…yet for some reason he could feel something weird in his tummy, like if things were just not right.

The mission ended up being a B rank mission, something the blonde thought was really weird but then found out he was a jounin just like Sasuke, so it wasn’t rare that they would be forced to do B rank missions. Their orders were to capture a group of spies that were trying to gather information over Konoha’s bloodlines. By the end of the day Baki was working on taking out information from them, something that made Naruto feel sorry for them.

“So Sasuke, where are you going now?” The blonde asked in an attempt to make some sort of conversation, the two were back in Konoha and for now Naruto was just following the raven, waiting for him to do anything suspicious that would show that he wasn’t the real Sasuke.

“I’m going home, where else?” The Uchiha raised an eyebrow at the lame question before sighing and just stopping in his tracks. “Is there something wrong?” The blonde was finally getting in his nerves and he wanted answers. Now. With a soft sigh the raven motioned Naruto to follow him until they were in the Konoha park, the raven took a seat on one of the swings and leaned his head against the right chain, his dark eyes staring at Naruto the whole time.

The blonde gulped softly at the stare but soon sat down on the swing next to Sasuke, though he was kicking his legs and lightly moving back and forth on the swing. “I don’t know…I mean, you are here, Sakura-chan likes me, and nothing bad is happening. I should be happy, but I feel like there’s something wrong. Hell I don’t even know if this is reality or a dream, or if I was dreaming and just woke up.” The blonde frowned, kicking some sand with his foot before sighing softly.

“Oh, what were you dreaming before then?” Sasuke tilted his head back to stare at the lavender sky. The sun was setting and a couple of stars were already blinking.

Naruto closed his eyes thoughtfully, finally giving a firm nod. “Well, I dreamed that you were gone, you betrayed us by going with Orochimaru to get the power you wanted, so you could kill Itachi. You even almost killed me so you could run to him. I promised Sakura-chan to bring you back, because well you knocked her out while you were trying to escape, but…the point is that you were gone, and when I found you…you were not the same again.” The blonde sighed softly, his blue eyes slowly opening to stare down at his feet, it was awkward to talk to Sasuke about something he never…did.

“That’s a weird dream.” The raven-haired boy said softly, his dark eyes still staring at the sky.

“I know right?” The blonde chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck nervously before snickering. “But you are here, and you are not an a*****e…and well Sakura-chan is going out with me!” the blonde laughed softly and swung on the swing, though his laugh quickly died down and he was now staring at Sasuke. “Still…I have a bad taste in my mouth, like when you eat something and make a face and then you want to rub your tongue on something.”

“Bitter?” Sasuke tilted his head against his shoulder with a small smirk, meeting Naruto’s eyes for the first time.

“Yeah that!” The blonde said with a grin. “I feel bitter, because this is…not right. I know I should be happy, I know this is perfect! But it's not right! Nothing about this is right! Everything I thought was real ended up being just a dream so, why can’t I feel happy that it was a dream!” Naruto’s voice was slowly rising, showing that he was starting to get angry. “Why can I be happy that you are here? And why can’t I feel happy that Sakura-chan is finally noticing me! Why can’t I want the reality instead of a dream!?”

Sasuke merely kept staring at Naruto and leaned his forehead against one of the swing’s chains. “But isn’t this what you always wanted? You said so yourself, you always liked Sakura, you wanted to be friends with me. Why aren’t you happy?”

Naruto growled softly and jumped off of his swing, his fists shaking slowly with anger he didn’t know the reason for having. “Maybe because I wanted to bring you back, I wanted Sakura-chan to notice me and accept me, but I think. I never truly wanted her to like me. I just wanted her to see me in the way she would see you, with admiration and respect. But what I wanted the most was to bring you back myself. Because what was giving me strength was the thought of bringing you back! With out that I fee like…there is no reason for me, w-what can I do now? Do missions and talk to you like nothing happened? Hell, nothing happened! It was just a stupid dream!” The blonde closed his eyes and rubbed his forehead with the palm of his hand before just turning around and taking a hold of Sasuke’s shirt, pulling on the other before leaning close to his face. “Why can I accept this when it's perfect?”

“…Maybe because you are an idiotic masochist that likes to suffer instead of accepting a happiness that was given to him.” Sasuke smirked softly, the same cocky smirk Naruto could easily remember. “Maybe that’s why.”

Naruto chuckled softly, his expression softening before he let go of the raven’s shirt.

“You are an idiot Naruto.” The Uchiha mumbled softly and leaned his head against the swing once again, his black sandals kicking the sand and Naruto could see the same black pants from before, the kimono shirt, the waistband, the sword.

And the blonde couldn’t help himself but to smirk and tackle the raven over, grabbing the ends of Sasuke V-neck shirt, lifting that body over like he did two years and a half ago.

“By the way Sasuke, I never told you I had a dream.” The blonde nodded slowly, though for some reason his tummy was twisting again, itching and almost burning. “But I found you didn’t I? You have the whole village under an illusion or something! Hell you even made Sakura-chan like me you b*****d!” The blue-eyed teen growled low in his throat and pulled the other boy closer, the glare never leaving his eyes.

“No, Naruto…I was trying to make it a good dream for you.” The Uchiha said quietly, his eyes staring off at something else instead of the blonde.

Naruto rolled his eyes and grabbed on the Uchiha’s chin, forcing him to look at him. “Well the best dream I could have…is bringing you back to Konoha myself you idiot.”

Sasuke narrowed his eyes slowly and yanked his face away from the hand holding his chin. “I have my own free will Naruto you keep forge-“

“NO YOU don’t! You don’t have a free will Sasuke! You lost it the moment you became a Shinobi, you lost it the moment you decided to join our team! You lost your will the moment you let your brother be your first priority!” The blonde yelled not caring if he was not being reasonable. “My team Sasuke!”

The Uchiha merely narrowed his eyes and slipped a hand in between Naruto’s arm, to try to push the blonde off. “Naruto you are so damn slow! You don’t understand anything! You don’t understand why I’m doing this! You are such an idiot sometimes, especially when you shouldn’t be o-“ Sasuke’s eyes widened when a pair of lips came crushing against his own, in a demanding, and almost too violent kiss for the raven’s taste. He felt his lips being pushed apart and a wet muscle slipping inside his mouth. The Uchiha couldn’t breath, just stare at the blonde with wide eyes. Naruto’s eyes were closed, he was biting, licking and sucking on Sasuke’s lips, even bruising the soft skin. Sasuke ignored the small line of blood running on the corner of his mouth and instead snapped out of his trance to try to catch his breath, he tried to twist his head but then realized Naruto was holding his head with both of his hands, keeping it in place for him to harass his lips.

Naruto pulled away after a few minutes, leaving the raven panting and trying to catch his breath. Sasuke’s mouth was slightly spread open, and his chest was rising and falling on a quick pace, trying to calm his breathing down to an even pace. The hand that was on Naruto’s chest was now resting on the blonde’s arm to keep his body steady from the lack of breathing.

“Don’t call me an idiot when you are the idiot.” The blonde mumbled softly and stared down at the panting Uchiha, the raven for the first time looked confused and out of words, something that was making the blonde feel cocky over the moment. “You are so slow Sasuke. Why would I want this ‘dream’! You don’t know me too well then, for two and a half years the only thing in my mind was you and how I could bring you back! Don’t you understand? You are MY friend! You are MY teammate!” the blonde nodded with a small glare, his forehead resting against Sasuke’s. “You are the reason why I am in the way I am, Sasuke…”

The raven closed one of his eyes lazily and narrowed the other. “Shut up…” he then turned his head away but was forced to look back at Naruto when he felt a pair of hands around his neck, pushing him against the ground. “Naruto…”

The blonde closed his eyes, his thumbs pushing against the pale neck while his tummy twitched in pain and twisted painfully. “Sasuke…am I dying?”

Sasuke closed his eyes and bit down on his bottom lip. “I was…I tried Naruto.” The raven-haired boy rubbed his lips together, before watching Naruto leaning down.

The blonde let go of Sasuke’s neck to rest his forehead on there now, he sighed softly and then looked up, everything was glassy and Sasuke was now on top of him, the sharingan easily noticeable on Sasuke’s eyes. The raven was staring down at him, blood was running down his forehead and he was even sitting on top of Naruto’s chest…but there was something behind him…black spears, not only that there was one in front of Sasuke but it wasn’t hurting Sasuke it was coming out from his own chest.

“Naruto, no…don’t snap out of it! Damnit! Don’t!” The Uchiha took hold of Naruto’s face, just like the blonde did before to keep his face in place while he was kissing him. “Keep staring at me Naruto…Sakura is not done please.”

The blonde tilted his head, glancing at Sakura. The pink-haired girl was next to Sasuke, her hands glowing. She healing something but what? The blonde could barely feel his body anymore. He tilted his head back and glanced around, people were fighting, and he was able to recognize Neji, Lee, and even Gaara. The blonde chuckled before his eyes widened and he coughed up blood, tainting Sasuke’s white shirt.

The raven ignored the blood and lifted Naruto’s face with his hands, forcing the blonde to look at him. “Come on Naruto, please…keep staring at me, do it. W-we can still save you. But we need you to be conscious, Naruto! Stop looking away!” The raven growled softly and the blue eyes looked away but then they were back to stare at Sasuke’s crimson eyes.

A chuckle.

“Sasuke…you are yelling like I do.” The blonde mumbled quietly.

“Sasuke-kun! Keep him in an illusion. I-I can’t save him if he’s unconscious. He can’t close his eyes please!” Sakura yelled from behind the raven, her hands slowly pulling out the black spears while trying to heal the wound. It was almost impossible, it was six spears on vital organs. She couldn’t do this by herself…she couldn’t. The medic nin felt tears running down her eyes but she kept trying, her hands glowing the same greenish color, trying, attempting to stop the bleeding before it was too late.

Naruto smiled softly at Sakura, she was trying really hard, and he was hoping she could do it…but sometimes miracles can’t happen. The blonde tilted his head back in Sasuke’s direction and smirked at him, his hand rising to grab on the raven’s hair to pull Sasuke’s head down so their noises were touching. “Shhh…don’t tell her what I did or else she would stop healing me.” The blonde snickered softly and grinned, though his face soon softened, he smiled softly at Sasuke and pushed his lips against Sasuke’s one last time.

The raven didn’t move and just stood there, his hands still holding Naruto’s face to let the blonde do as he wished.

The blue-eyed boy bit down on Sasuke’s bottom lip and slipped his tongue inside the same warm cavern, his tongue rubbing the roof of Sasuke’s mouth before rubbing against the other’s tongue, his lips pressing heavily against Sasuke’s and when the blonde pulled back…Sasuke could taste the blood in his mouth, his lips were red with Naruto’s blood and even his chin was bloody.

“Shh…Sasuke…you were always my obsession…” the blonde grinned one last time.

Sasuke stared with wide eyes as Naruto’s eyes became a glassy color, the same blue eyes turning dull and losing the light that was keeping them alive.

Another chuckle.

Sasuke chuckled softly and closed his eyes. “Idiot…I was giving you the world you always wanted…but I guess I was wrong. You are an idiot for getting obsessed so easily” The raven could feel tears on his face, but he ignored them and he merely closed his eyes and screamed, not caring if there was people around, not caring if Sakura was behind him. The pink-haired girl was probably aware of what happened by now anyways. He…was just feeling like screaming. He wanted the pain and the heavy feeling on his lungs to go away. So he kept screaming until his voice was sore and his mouth was dry. The raven-haired boy stared at the cloudy sky, the rain hitting against his face before dropping his face against Naruto’s shoulder, his hands holding tightly on the other’s head before letting go of it.

The Uchiha stood up slowly and turned around, the rest of the Akatsuki was still fighting with the Konoha Shinobi.

The raven smirked and pulled out his katana, his eyes darkening with the sharingan. His face was twisted with sadism. Slowly, dark marks spread across his face, consuming his face little by little.

The last thing Sakura was able to see was Sasuke charging, after that everything became dark, she could hear people screaming, she could hear Sasuke laughing, she could hear pain…But this time she didn’t stand up. This time she didn’t ask Sasuke to stop, and this time…she let Sasuke crush his prey.

-End-

Beautifully tragic. My faorite part was probably the ending. It sounds right that Sakura wouldn't get up, that tehy would all scream like that. Beautiful.
