[The Learning Center]
Greetings, newbie. Yes, you. You came here to learn more about how to role-play, no? That's the main reason why this is made! Anyways, welcome to The Learning Center. If you see a roleplay that has a lot of details and makes a lot of roleplayers want to join, it could be your roleplay! You want to be more detailed and literate, right? Most roleplays expect literate roleplayers who seem dedicated to a roleplay. A lot of people hate one-liners, which newbies tend to do without noticing that they're doing it. I do not like people who post one-liners in my own roleplay. Yes, you might see me posting roleplays and such. I love being creative too! That's the main reason I created this guild. I know that there are others who love being creative too, so I created this guild. I'm not even sure if there is a guild like this one, but no matter what guild I go to, I don't seem satisfied with myself expressing my creativity-ness at that guild, so I got this! I didn't really buy to make the guild, to be honest. XD. Otay, let's start learning! Get that brain of yours working and keep up because the lesson is about to begin. . . NOW!

[The Deal]
The first lesson is that I have to tell you what most roleplay expect. The Barton Town seems so crazy that most newbies don't really know what to do or what to post! I've been there before. I was a newbie to roleplaying and I had absolutely no idea what to do until a great friend of mine taught me what it really is and how to do it. I'm improving my skills everytime I'm in a roleplay. Questions?

-->Oh, question! What is a roleplay exactly?<--
This is what newbies usually ask when they're so new to roleplaying. Well, to summarize what it really is, you have fun with others! What it really is, exactly, is that a roleplay is what others make up their own characters to participate in that one roleplay that they're interested in. You pretend to be that character and go along with the story that the roleplay creator has already created. Not all roleplays has an ending. It can go on forever.

-->What if it doesn't really go on forever?<--
It could mean two things. It's either dying because there's not enough active roleplayers. It could also mean that the roleplay creator has decided to make up some kind of ending chapter.

-->If the roleplay has "ended" or "died", what happens to it?<--
The Clean-Up occurs once every month. The roleplay will easily get noticed and that roleplay will either be deleted or be locked and moved to the Dead Zone. If the roleplay is a good example for a literate roleplay, I might use it as an example, but it will still be in the Dead Zone.

-->What is a Clean-Up Process?<--
There might be too many roleplays, including dead ones and the ended one. It's a process when the moderators, or me, will look for dead roleplays or ended roleplays and they will decide to either move them over to the Dead Zone or delete them. More information will be in The Clean-Up Process topic.

-->How do I prevent my roleplay from dying?<--
It's very simple. Good question too. One thing that I suggest is that make sure you have enough active roleplayers. If there's some roleplayers who haven't posted for a long time, you can either find out what's keeping them or take them out of the roleplay and get a new roleplayer.

-->No one seems to be joining my roleplay!<--
Quite a complaint, huh? My spirit agrees. . . Okay, that was random. >.< Anywho, to solve that, I suggest you go to the RolePlayers Request topic. Look for roleplayers that fit in your category of the roleplay and has your needs. You can PM that person and discuss with them about joining your roleplay. ^_^

-->I want to advertise my roleplay. How do I do that exactly?<--
Well, there's a lot of ways to advertise your roleplay. You can go to the Advertisement topic and post in your advertisement. There's a fun way: you can make a banner that's related to your roleplay and have it linked to your roleplay! It's actually creative. XD There's a lot of ways.

No more questions? Otay, let's go on then.

[Expectations]
Lesson two! What most roleplays expect is an active roleplayer. I'm sure that they hate it when someone joins and doesn't post that much. That is the numbrah one thing that they expect. Always be active! Please do let the roleplay creator know if you're going away for quite a long time. ^_^
Another thing that they expect is that they want their roleplayers to be literate. Proper grammer and all the usual things. I'd google the "grammer corrector" for you, but right now I'm a bit tied up with other things. Though, you can have a "teacher", which is an expert at roleplaying, teach you how to do proper grammer. Very good choice, there. If you have read tons of book, you should be familiar with grammer and spelling. You should have a spell check in your computer. I can't spell that much, but I'm not stupid. o: Anywho, if you don't know what's exactly being literate, I'll give you some examples with some roleplays that have good literacy and some examples from me, myself, and I.

RolePlays examples:
NOAH'S ARK; The Flood
It might be such a long thread to read to get it, but it's actually a very good roleplay. The settings, the way it was structured has a very good example of a literate roleplay. Such a good roleplay, heh? ^_^
Fall to pieces
A school RP, which has a very good title. It seems to catch my attention when I saw the title. Made me want to read it too. ^_^ Another good roleplay. Detailed, like the previous roleplay above this.
Note: More might be added!

More examples:
Want to know how to be literate? Here are some posts that are very literate. Some of them might as well be too long, so it might be url linked. ^_^

Adriana woken up from her nightmare, sitting up quickly, breathing hard and she finds herself sweating. Her pillow became wet with her own sweat. She's been having this nightmare for quite a while. She doesn't exactly remember how long has she been dreaming the same dream. Over and over and over again. She wanted it to stop. It never did. She doesn't think it ever will stop. She placed her hand over her chest, where her heart is pounding so hard, that it felt like it's about to rip right out. Puff. Puff. Pant. Pant. She took a deep breath. Then she took a couple more to calm her breathing down, and to stop her heart from pounding too hard. Sometimes her dream stops at the same spot, and sometimes her dream advanced further more, and then stops. Is it a message? Is it a predition? She isn't exactly sure, but whatever dream it is, it's sure scaring the crap out of her. It's nearly daylight now, and she felt like going back to sleep. The other half of her don't want to go back to sleep. Maybe it's because of that night mare.

[Tips]
Okay, ummm. Lesson three! Here are some tips that you might want to use for being literate and having proper grammer. I was gonna include spelling, but I think I already quite explained that. You do have a spell check in your computer. Just do the spell check in your word pad, or something. XD. Otay! Here are some tips from me and some of the other expert roleplayers:

-->Don't use text talk<--
if u tlk lyke dis, it dont seem vry literate. It also annoys some of the other people as well. Believe me because. . . it annoys me. XD
-->Thrid person<--
Most of the people who roleplay use thrid person. If you don't know what's a thrid person is, look at the examples in the post up in Expectations sections. Some of you might not be used to using thrid person. It's quite alright. It might take a while to get some used to.
-->Post a lot more sentences<--
You might have a writer's block, and that's alright. Maybe the person who just posted didn't give you much to work on. It happens quite often. There's two options. You can wait for someone else to post until you get an idea, or you can try your best being very descriptive.
-->5 Senses<--
Being descriptive could mean you should use the 5 senses. The following 5 senses is: touch, see, smell, hear, and taste. Some of them might not be possible to describe, but it's a very good way to make your post seem a lot more longer. You can also include your thoughts towards a situtation, the past or a person. ^_^
-->Twists and Turning Point<--
It's a very good style for roleplaying. It's quite optional, but it gives the reader some suspense and want to read on more. It's like acting. Use your creativity to make up some twists, turns, or the turning point. I love using that.
Got any tips that could be useful? PM me about that and I will post them up here for you!

[Thinking & Planning]

Ever want to think and plan your roleplay, but seems to take a while to plan the roleplay you wanted it to be? It may take a while to think about a roleplay that might as well get a lot of people to join and interest people. It happened to people, even me! It took a long time for me just to plan about the roleplay called Black Rose.

Luckily, me and the crew members decided to make a subforum called OOC planning. For those of you who are new to roleplaying, OOC stands for Out Of Character. Most of the owners of the roleplay require roleplayers to use OOC if you have any questions or comments you want to say during the roleplay. Some create a OOC thread for the roleplay so that members wouldn't end up chatting instead of roleplaying, which works pretty good. You can use the OOC subforum to put in your roleplays' own OOC thread. Not only the OOC subforum is only used for that, but among other things such as planning, putting in profiles, looking for another person to plan with. If you put a OOC thread or any of the listed things we mentioned earlier, it will be moved into the OOC subforum. The OOC subforum should be named "Behind The Scenes". Don't worry, I'll provide a link to the subforum if you couldn't find it.

If you're one of the roleplayers who like to keep things organized, I recommend that you provide links in your roleplay so that members wouldn't have to look for it. If you have any questions or comments about this, feel free to PM me about it!
