UltimateGuitar.com has lots of great tabs and stuff, but recently they did this thing where they let people vote for who they thought were the best and worst bands of '07. Now, I didn't vote, but I looked at it and guess who got ranked in worst? Yup, MCR.
According to the users of UltimateGuitar.com, My Chemical Romance is the fourth worst band of '07.
Here's what they say about them:
Like Green Day’s situation, it’s been a while since the band released The Black Parade, and My Chemical Romance has somehow continued to piss off legions of music lovers everywhere. The band spent most of 2007 in a touring frenzy (minus the time off for food poisoning), but vocalist Gerard Way did make time to set the record straight about one particular subject.
To put it succinctly, Way stated back in September that “emo is a pile of s**t.” As entertaining as his statement was, the UG readers’ comments were even more enjoyable in a different, brutally caustic kind of way. By the results of the poll, it looks like there’s quite a few who believe Mr. Way is in denial.
Here are the worst bands according to those who voted:
01. Fall Out Boy! - 442 votes
02. Linkin Park - 276 votes
03. Avenged Sevenfold - 249 votes
04. My Chemical Romance - 246 votes
05. Green Day - 136 votes
Those are like, all my favorite bands. One thing I noticed though is that all those bands (except maybe Green Day) could be called 'Emo'. Personally I like emo music. But I think UltimateGuitar users are more metal people. Oh well. I just thought you might like to see. I actually thought it was kind of funny.

Boy did they get that wrong.
Those have to be some of the best bands of 2007. ..that awful sound.

pshh. whatever. I think MCR was great this year and that comment with gerard about that emo crap is no reason to not like their music. cause you know what? emo is a pile of s**t. since people just use it as a stereotypical thing for about every band, and when people think of emo they think of just a kid with a black choppy haircut, black jeans,eyeliner, and a my chemical romance t-shirt. Its funny how lots of people got offended with the small six worded sentence that gerard announced. They shouldnt even care. Its not like he said that he hates all those kids who are depressed and who want to cut themselves ect.
who cares what a stupid online poll says, we the real fans loved MCR this year and that should be all that matters.

those are all my favorite bands! DX i dont know what you would call it but thats dumb how they catorgirize those into "emo" thats dumb very dumb!

I don't see whats wrong with emo, anyway. I like emo hair, and I like emo clothes, and I LOVE emo music. It's my favorite. heart

here is my opinon
01. Fall Out Boy! - should be under Worst ( I liked them.. but there to comercial)
02. Linkin Park - should be under BEST
03. Avenged Sevenfold - Should be under best
04. My Chemical Romance - should be under BEST
05. Green Day - undecided
but know what?!? I have really given up on what other people think, cause we are all different.. daaaaaaaammmnn Middle school sure has screwed me up. I used to be so different.. but um that is not what we are talking about.

it's a poll...things like this happen. did it change your view of the band? If you like something don't force other people to agree with your point. I like them too...but it happens...sorry i sound like a jerk... redface

I like them too...but it happens...sorry i sound like a jerk... redface I kinda agree. I also think that people have opinions and they will never match up with yours. My chem changes lives and I am happy that everyone in this guild knows that (well at least I hope they do). The people that voted on that poll were probably the same people that follow fads and I would rather them not like my chem at all because even if they did like them they would never truely understand them and appreciate them.
(I understand, you made a point, never feel like a jerk for saying what you believe)

I don't care what other people think, but it still makes me kind of mad how people don't appreciate the contributions that bands like MCR make.
