If you have tips, tricks, and advice for less advanced RPers, please say so.

For example:

I usually know a Literate RPer when I see they don't depend on dialogue and other people for actions.
Plus great RPers post paragraphs that flow, they make sense, and you don't see much BS.

As far as profiles go, good RPers know how to give their characters depth.

For this reason, wikipedia.org is my best friend.
And Mugglenet is my next best friend.

You can look up anything.

For example, if you don't know what wood to make your wand, just think.
"What qualities does my character have?" ;; "What would be the best wood for his/her talents?" [for this question, check out Hp and the Philosopher's Stone, different woods have different magical properties] ;; "What does each wood symbolize?"
And then start searching;
Elm, yew, willow, holly, cherry, maple, the list goes on and on.
Oak is a good, common wood, because it symbolyses strength.
If you aren't sure what core to add...
Ollivander uses Unicorn hair, Phoenix feathers, and Dragon heartstrings.
If your character's family is based in the UK, it may be best for you to go with Ollivander's.
For those of you who are from other countries or of foreign descent, check out 'Fantastic Beasts and where to Find them'. There are many different creatures to procure ingredients from.
But be careful when picking out beasts, and fully read the descriptions.
Take into account their natural habitats, magical purposes, and most imporantly:
their RARITY and DANGER level.
