The guild is starting to get going. Saraian and I have decided on the time period in which we will RP...
Right before Harry attends Hogwarts. As in, we start Fall 1990.
A nice, round number, isn't it?

I'd like to remind everybody that, after your profile is accepted, please set up a relationship board. It's optional, of course, I can't force you to be friends/enemies/or lovers, but it's always fun to see who likes (or hates!) your character.
Also, if you have Roleplayed with anyone who plays well with CANONS and/or BOYS. Currently, we have 4 girls, we need some diversity, although year and house differences are coming along nicely.

Don't be afraid to start contacting people about relationships, you can go ahead with those! I'm just trying to keep people busy and active, so those are avaliable.
Like I said last week: Contact me if you know any good RolePlayers! I want to get at least a few people active, not just a whole bunch of people who are in permanent "writers block" mode...

So, now that we have a few more members and a bit more boys, we can start deciding on a date to begin. Well, in RP time and real time. The week of February 4th will be the best time for me, just because I have that whole week off for Mardi Gras. So I can get everything ready, and do some recruiting. As far as RP goes, I'd like something different, but I also like the classic Platfrom entrance, when everyone meets back up. Vote!

I'm still waiting on a few votes. So far, it's Platform, 3 Diagon Alley, 1.
Right now we have 10 full characters, but that doesn't mean we can't have more!!! Pleasepleaseplease recruit and refer, as much as you can.
Lastly, I am still in need of information for our Library section. I'd hate to have to look up all that stuff on my own. Really, what you can do is just copy and paste all of Mugglenet, and give sources. Easy as that. But currently, I'm the only author up there. Faerlie, you can go ahead and post your Ancient Runes stuff. :3

Whooo! Okay, since I've been a bit sick and that caused me to fall behind a bit in school, it just seems to me like the guild has been thriving quite quickly! It's not a bad thing to slow down a bit, but keep in mind, I want to make this Rp continuous! [That means, if you're so into it now, don't let it die!]
I was thinking we could start on Feb 4th in Diagon Alley on the weekend of August 25th/26th of 1990. That way, because I will be home all that week, I can observe [and control, if needed] the RP before I jump in myself. That means, you can all have a test run [sans Muggle-borns, sorry] before the school year starts. Depending on when that weekend finishes, the time for real RP will start! I'm not sure of the exact date yet, maybe Friday the 8th, or even Monday the 11th.
Other than the RP, we could do some plotting the week of Valentines Day [though I detest it], like games or something, to keep everyone active.
Anyway, I will put up a new poll; the results of the last one: Platform 4 - Diagon Alley 3

Start typing up those intros, people! Finish up filling out relationships over this week and tie up loose ends. That's what I'll be doing! Just start in the Diagon Alley thread and work your way through different shops. But if there is not a place for a shop you want to enter... you must wait for me to make a thread.

We are going along very well for now, great job guys! For those of you that heven't posted yet, if you don't post in the next two days, I'll PM you for a check-up to see what's going on. Or, to make this easy for all of us, just PM me and tell me you're busy with something.
Also, I'm open to new and clever plotting ideas, so drop me a PM. But please, when you PM me, don't leave the subject blank. I'd like to know what you're sending me. I have cell alerts and it tells me the first few words of a PM, but sometimes that's not enough.

So, I have literally readone the whole clock/setting/timer thread. It's very pretty if I do say so myself. I even made a calendar, so you all could see upcoming special events.

I recently read something that I think everyone should know, and find helpful. Rowling stated in an interview that Muggle-born witches and wizards were visited by a special messenger. The messenger would explain everything to the parents and child. Although, you can guess that someone would have noticed the powers of the child, so it may be not that much of a surprise.

I've found a website that is very useful, in terms of canon characters. Accio Quote! It has loads of information from JKR and other reliable sources. So, if you are going to create a canon character and you find yourself in need of interesting tidbits, check it out. I found this very interesting tidbit on Accio Quote! JKR on Muggle-to-Wizard ratio, students at Hogwarts, etc. It gave me a better idea of how many magical beings there may be in Britain, Hogwarts, etc. " Well, Hogwarts. All right. Here is the thing with Hogwarts. Way before I finished “Philosopher's Stone,” when I was just amassing stuff for seven years, between having the idea and publishing the book, I sat down and I created 40 kids who enter Harry's year. I'm delighted I did it, [because] it was so useful. I got 40 pretty fleshed out characters. I never have to stop and invent someone. I know who’s in the year, I know who's in which house, I know what their parentage is, and I have a few personal details on all of them. So there were 40. I never consciously thought, “That's it, that' s all the people in his year,” but that's kind of how it's worked out. Then I've been asked a few times how many people and because numbers are not my strong point, one part of my brain knew 40, and another part of my brain said, “Oh, about 600 sounds right.” Then people started working it out and saying, "Where are the other kids sleeping?" [Laughter.] We have a little bit of a dilemma there. I mean, obviously magic is very rare. I wouldn't want to say a precise ratio. But if you assume that all of the wizarding children are being sent to Hogwarts, then that's very few wizard-to-Muggle population, isn’t it? There will be the odd kid whose parents don't want them to go to Hogwarts, but 600 out of the whole of Britain is tiny.
Let's say three thousand [in Britain], actually, thinking about it, and then think of all the magical creatures, some of which appear human. So then you've got things like hags, trolls, ogres and so on, so that's really bumping up your numbers. And then you've got the world of sad people like Filch and Figg who are kind of part of the world but are hangers on. That's going to bump you up a bit as well, so it's a more sizable, total magical community that needs hiding, concealing, but don't hold me to these figures, because that's not how I think. " Therefore, I have limited the number of students per house per year to 10. If that didn't make any sense, then an example will probably help. So, there will only be 10 Slytherin 3rd years. 10 Hufflepuff 7th years. 10 Ravenclaw 1st years. 10 Gryffindor 5th years, etc. That will total 280... even though "600 sounds right"

Okay, so, it has taken about 8 days for 11:00 to 1:00 occur. and 5/6 days for 1:00 to 3:00. Right now, the time is 3 something or other, Wednesday the 20th will change the time to 5:00. And for a few days after that, that will be your last chance to post and play.
I expect to reach the train scene by late February/Early March. So, it takes us about a week for us to RP 2 -3 hours. Not too bad. I want to keep it stretched out, so if someone misses a whole week or two, they won't have to keep their character(s) in the hospital wing forever and a day.
Also, I have updated the Clock/schedule thread with new times. We now have 5 classes a day, 2 in the morning, 3 in the afternoon/evening. Over the next day or two, I will be planning the classes.
