I've read the manga, however, I've only seen the first episode of the anime. When I through with all the short series I'm watching now, I'd like to get into the anime. I kind of sympathize with Light, until the end. I know a lot of fans who hate his character for being so arrogant. I also like the first opening and closing theme songs by the band Nightmare. There's also the live action movies, which I hear are pretty good. Ther first two movies cover volumes 1-7 of the manga, and finalize the ending that way, rather than introducing Near and Mellow, like in the manga and anime. A prequel/ spin-off movie about L will hit Japanese theaters February 9th. Here's the trailor for it: L: Change the WorLd Apparently in the live action movies

I have only watched the anime. I am looking for the manga now but the shops up here are rubbish for mangas so I think I will be forced to order them off line ^_^
I heard about the movies. Not actually seen them but I think I might look into them. I quite liked Light's charcter, I actually felt sorry for him practally the whole way through the anime.
Death Note is just great. I love the storyline and the charcters ^-^ And so I want to read the mangas to get the full story I suppose. smile
I can hardly wait for the 'How to Read" manga to be released in english once February rolls around. I already own all the mangas ^^' Really, I loved both the Light and L characters, feeling close to both of them in that sick-sort of way. Also (spoiler) after L died (which was a cheap shot btw, since Rem had killed him with HER Deathnote) I had felt for Near, and not for Mello; until near the end where progressively, I felt for Mello and dispised Near. And finally (spoiler) when Near had finally caught up with Light, right before his death, when he was twisted in a fit of desprate survival I totally wanted what was best for Light, because he was such an interesting character to follow Also, it was fun to see him snap
Mind: This is all in the manga series; the anime series differs a bit, I am told.

i read it like befor last yr, when it 1st hit the US, it was realy good
the manga is more my thing though, the TV show just makes him look so much more then an idelist and more like a sycotic killer
I love the anime and as soon as I get caught up on the Eyeshield 21 and Reborn mangas I plan on picking some of the Death Note mangas up. biggrin

i started watching death note toward the end of the year i like it but ppl make it sound better then it is somtimes sweatdrop i wanna hear about L he was my favorite charecter till he died crying

I finally watched the live action movies for this series (Death Note, and Death Note: the Final Name), and they were pretty good. They rearranged some of the events, but were still able to maintain the suspense. I really liked the actor who payed L, and I'm really looking forward to someone to sub the L:Change the WorLd movie.

I found the full series on realitylapse.com. There are lots of p2p files out there for the series, especially on thepiratebay.com. You can also check out site like veoh.com with streaming video. Usually when I buy anime TV series, I wait for the thin packs to come out, even though they don't have all the special features you find on the original individual DVD's.
