 The sound of the waves was the only thing that could be heard along the lake front, a small Ulaith sitting on a large boulder near the banks. Pure white hair the color of freshly fallen snow covered him from head to to claw, save for the coal black crest at the top of his head running down his spine and the small tufts of hair behind his front legs. Shen, as he was named by his Chosen, seemed as if he was in a state of slumber, but that wasn't so. He was meditating and had been since the sun started to rise in the sky early in the morning. Deeply he breathed, in and out, completely content and in a state of harmony with himself and that surrounding him. Yes, today was going to be a good day; Shen could feel it.

Raziel stretched he great forelegs as he pulled himself to his feet. It was still early in the morning, but something had awoken him. He lowered his head beneath a tree branch to balance his hat back onto his head. He left Isabel where she lay sleeping and trotted out of the trees and off to the bank of the lake they were staying by. He made his way over to the water and waded in a little bit to get a drink. As he lowered his head to the water she spotted something white on a bolder to his left a little ways down the bank. He lifted his head to get a better look. It was a small white Ulaith sitting there, and he looked to be asleep.

Off down the lake a ways came the faint quack of a duck, causing Shen to snap out of his meditative state. Two different colored orbs, the left one white and the left one black, stared down at the duck as it swam closer. "Ping, you threw off my concentration..." he seemed to mutter in a soft-spoken voice. It was then that he noticed a large Ulaith in front of him, deep red and adorned with a top hat. "No matter, though," he continued to tell the duck who was now at his side, "you do it every morning." Curiously, Shen stared at Raziel in silence; the same silence he was used to in meditation that, as always, seemed to be broken by the boisterous "Quack," of Ping.

Raziel switched his attention momentarily to the duck that had swam by. He had not seen swim mover and sit next to a Ulaith like they were friends, he found it slightly odd. He returned his attention to the small white Ulaith. "Why good morning little one." He called so that the other could hear as he nodded his head in greeting. He took a few wading steps through the water closer to the bolder and the little one.

"Qua-quack!"
Shen shot the duck a glance after he made his introduction, staring a bit. He then turned back to Raziel and bowed his head back in respect. "And a fine morning to you, my good sir," answered the little white politely. After bidding his elder a good morning, Shen stood from the boulder and gracefully jumped down, landing on all fours gingerly. He certainly was graceful for an Ulaith of his age. "Does the yearning to be one with nature call to you, too?"

Raziel looked at the small Ulaith oddly for a moment, tilting his head slightly. "Be one with nature?" He said as he thought to himself for a moment. "I do not believe so young one." He waded back to the shore and got all four paws onto the bank before he shook his front legs lightly to get the water from his fur. "I do though feel the gentlemens calling." He said with a smile. "How rude of me." He shook his head lightly as to not disturb his hat. "I am Raziel." He said with a slight bow, not taking his eyes off the little one.

"Raziel," Shen repeated, his tail wagging calmly. "That's a nice name. It's nice to meet you. My name is Shen." A smile crossed his lips after he introduced himself, and the little Ulaith peered off into the forest as if he was looking for something. "Do you have a Chosen, Raziel? Or are you one of those people who travels all over the world like my Chosen and I?" he inquired. At the mention of Shen's Chosen, the duck ruffled his feathers happily. Clearly, they both cared for her very much.

"A Chosen?" Raziel said with a smiles as he thought of Isabel for a moment. "Why yes I do." He said with a nod as he sat back on his haunches. "She is still sleeping at the moment, though I am sure she will wake soon. The two of us travel a bit, though we usually just stick around places that we know." He said as he stared off into the forest to where Isabel lay.
