Do every quest as many times as possible and sell the extra items, or all if you want.

If a collectibles price goes down, buy it and wait a while. When the price goes back up you can sell it for a few thousand more gold than what you paid for it.

Always check to see if an item can be bought for less at the marketplace before you buy it at a store. Even if it's just one gold less, a penny saved is a penny earned.

The games are a great place to earn gold, I find that the most rewarding of the games are Fishing and Slots/Cards. The coins are only 1 gold each but the tickets can sell for 3 gold each.
