Kay, mutants! We got 'em all holed up in one place, 'cause us humans are stupid! xD Just kidding. We aren't stupid, but the humans in the RP tend to be a little slow.

Setting-
We're in a city, rather like the one in the Crow, if anyone has seen it. Basicly, it's run down and full of drug users and alcoholics. The majority of the population is unhappy and probably holed up together for safety. No one finds it odd that an unusually large group of people is living in two of the largest apartments in one complex right nhext to each other, because of this. They also tend to not notice that most of those people work at the only library, or that the other few people work at places where discounts are extremely useful. This large group of people happen to be orphaned or abandoned teenagers (roughly, some are older and some younger) and all happen to be mutants.

I'm adding birthdays! Whoo! Assuming this takes place now-ish.

Username: Autumnal Solstice
Name: Unknown; called Smoke
Gender: Female
Age: 16 (12/7/92)
Appearance: Smoke has pale-grey skin. Her hair is short and straight, coming just above her ears- it's brown, and perpetually messy. Her eyes are oval-shaped, and are dark-grey. Smoke is a very small person, and doesn't look nearly her age.
Personality: Smoke is very quiet, and has never spoken a word in any known language. The only sounds she has ever made have been little gasps of terror, signaling that something really, really bad is happening. Really bad.
Apart from her silence, Smoke is also timid and shy, tending to follow the lead of others.
History: No one knows much about Smoke.
Power: Smoke has the ability to teleport, leaving behind clouds of smoke that disperse into the air without a trace.
Other: None.

Username: Autumnal Solstice
Name: Andy, sometimes called Spikes.
Gender: Male
Age: 19 (6/4/89)
Appearence: Andy is skinny and lean, with a mop of dark-brown hair on his head. His eyes are thin and brown, and he looks whole-heartedly untrustworthy. His skin looks well-tanned and Greek.
Above his right eye, there is a scar, and it looks like he has two small eyebrows rather than one.
Personality: Andy, though he looks untrustworthy, is the most trustworthy guy you can find. He's very loyal, and amazingly optimistic. If he says things are bad, they're going to be very, very bad.
History: Andy was always the nerd, though he had a small group of people who adored him. He was fairly average. But then, his house caught fire, and the roof fell in on him. He was taken for dead, until the firefighters attempted to search for bones- and found Andy, huddling, bald, with skin like leather. He didn't have a single cut on his body, apart from one cutting through his eyebrow.
Power: Andy can change his skin at will. His favorite way to use his power, for example, is to make his skin metallic- he becomes impervious to poisons and can form spikes all along himself, sharper than knives. The one that saved his life was rhino skin- skin tough enough to avoid cuts and fireproof. He can change between each skin in seconds to whatever suits his needs- fur, normal skin, even pale skin to make him look dead.
Other: None.

Username: Autumnal Solstice
Name: Sergio
Gender: Male
Age: 15 (12/4/93)
Appearance: Sergio is a dark-complexioned boy with black hair and soft, dark-brown eyes. He is tall for his age, and has a distinctive scar along his left forearm, which looks like an 'I' and a 'W' sitting next to each other.
Personality: Sergio has lost most of his memory, up until the point where he was found. He is quiet, but enjoys the company of others, preferring to listen to them, and offer comment when he feels like he should.
History: When Sergio was found, he was hidden away in an alley, with streaks of grime patterning his skin; his scar at that point was almost new, an angry red color that lashed out and away from the scar, giving his entire arm stripes. Since that point, his scars have become more of a dull brown, with none of the angry marks showing on his arm at all.
Power: Sergio's power is that he can take on the power of others by touching them. This renders them powerless, however, and Sergio believes himself to be a leech, and covers as much of his skin as he can.
Other: Sergio has a soft spot for Saint, and enjoys spending time with her whenever he can.

Username: Autumnal Solstice
Name: Mae Long
Gender: Female
Age: 24 (8/9/84)
Appearance: Mae is a tiny woman, with long black hair that goes to around her shoulder blades. Her eyes are dark and heavy, and her face is often ringed with exhaustion. She often wears her hair up, supported only by a few beads the color of frost.
Personality: Mae is surprisingly adamant, and is not afraid to speak her mind. She enjoys hot springs and dogs, though never together, and positively loves children.
History: When she was just a young girl, Mae was diagnosed as having a rare disease that deteriorated her muscles until she could barely support herself. Her heart could only beat fast enough to keep her in a coma-like state, until she one day woke up. While she would never be able to survive by herself, her power got her accepted into a home for mutants, much more lavish than anything she had ever seen- easy enough.
Power: When Mae slows herself down enough- having more control over how slowly she moves than most- she can speak in a deep, resonating voice that can persuade just about anyone to do just about anything. Given the time it takes, it's not a very practical power, but it works nonetheless.
Other: Mae's body is slowly getting over her disease, and she has nearly broken it. However, she is still lazy by nature, and would never be one to get around and do anything anyways.

Username: Autumnal Solstice
Name: Terren Brand
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Appearance: Being Jazz's twin, he looks a lot like her. His hair is bleached blond, though.
Personality: Terren acts like a trusty, dependable guy. Loyal to the bone and humorous. But he can switch from your best friend to your killer in an instant, and is incredibly sadistic and cruel. He is also a bit arrogant, as though he never expects anyone to expect him.
History: Terren and his twin sister, Jazz, really aren't right in the head. Their mother ******** with them emotionally, sending them in horrible circles all goddamn day long and their father sexually abused the both of them and then took off when they turned six, so they have a step-dad and a younger half-sister. The step-dad is a drunk and is never around and the little sister is a b***h and demanding. Jazz is stuck dealing with the bitchy little sister and Terren deals with the even bitchier mother. Their life sucks.
Power: Terren has a three-part power, each one pretty useless without one of the others. Firstly, he can make explosions. Anything from a little firework popper to the size of a nuclear explosion. All of them are thermal, and burn. He can also contain things- a person, a waterfall, an explosion. Lastly, he can't be purposefully surprised. You plan on surprising him, and he will know.
Other: Yeah... evil.

Username: Saint_Oriel
Name: Amber, but called Bubbles
Gender: Female
Age: 14
Appearence: User Image
Personality: Bubbles is very childish and a rather giggly and loud kind of person. She tends to be the distraction when having to take out a rampaging druggie or pryomaniac. She also tends to be considered a child due to her behaviour and is hardly ever allowed at first to listen in on serious conversations.
History: Bubbles brought all of the mutants together, although Xavier likes to claim he was the one who found them all. She went out and jumped up and down on the mutants until they grew fed up with the annoying, bouncing girl and followed her.
Power: Bubbles, duh! Anything and everything to do with bubbles!
Other: Nope.

Username: Saint_Oriel
Name: Oriel, nicknamed Saint
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Appearence: User Image
Personality: Oriel is a generally grim person, rather pessimistic and serious. She almost never seems happy, except when playing a video game, sparring, or really fighting. She's a very offensive and active person, and tends to be sarcastic, although her advice is usually very useful, if a bit frightening. She's the best hand-to-hand combat mutant in the city and forces everyone to take lessons, 'just in case'. Oriel is noble and honorable, hence the nickname Saint.
History: Oriel's parents died in a fire set by a group or drugged up hoods when she was six and was sent to the over-populated and run-down orphanage where she learned that life was either get tough or die, so she got tough, and cold. As soon as she reached fifteen, Bubbles attacked her for a week until she sumbitted, slightly, just to get the hyperactive girl off her back.
Power: She's extremely fast, which comes in handy when dodging bullets and sliting throats.
Other: She has a soft spot for Xavier, who is like a father to her, and Sleet, who's rather like a brother.

Username: Saint_Oriel
Name: Sleet
Gender: Male
Age: 16
Appearence: Sleet is lightly tanned with dark blue eyes and short, rather spiked mud brown hair, and is rather short for his age. He tends to wear blue jeans with holes at the knees and solid colored tee-shirts.
Personality: Sleet is rather quiet, and a damned fine strategist. He always thinks before he acts. If he panics, something bad is going on and Smoke is probably making random noises.
History: Sleet grew up alongside Oriel, patching her up every time she came off worse in a fight. Having lived with her for so long, Sleet is very used to her attitude and can tell the slight changes in her voice, such as when she's angry or concerned. He's also the only one who can get away with calling her Oreo, so long as he doesn't do so too often.
Power: Healing
Other: Nope.

Username: Saint_Oriel
Name: Shadow
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Appearence: Shadow is abnormally tall and gaunt, with pale skin that seems to glow. He has shoulder-length, unkempt black hair and smooth, flawless features, coupled with long canine teeth giving him a strange vampiric quality. Shadow also wears nothing but black, hence the name.
Personality: Shadow is very withdrawn and quiet, with a sarcastic or painful remark always at the tip of his tongue. He thinks faster than he speaks, often making him stumble on sentances not carefully planned.
History: Shadow
Power: Shadows. Rather like Amber's bubbles, Shadow can manipulate shadows, bring them to life for short periods of time, and even shape them to seem like a phantom of a person. He also has natural skill in hiding in shadows, cloaking his true identity in the thick, black folds. He's rarely seen outside a shadowed area.
Other: Nope.

[I lurves you . . .]
PostPosted: Mon Feb 18, 2008 6:27 pm

The apartment living room was extremely messy. There were papers and books everywhere, on furniture, on the floor, on the small color television, everywhere. It had one couch with three cusions, three chairs, one rocking chair and one recliner, so, overall, the living room was pretty packed. On occasion, when Bubbles is, or has been, trying to cook something, smoke can be seen coming from the kitchen. The kitchen was (usually) pure white. Shadow thoroughly despises the pristine white color, but he is one of the best chefs, so often as not he rushes into the kitchen to drag Bubbles out of it. And cleans up the mess. And cooks something else. Anyway, the nine bedrooms and three bathrooms sprouting from the living room are for Smoke, Bubbles, Saint, Shadow, Sergio, Mae Long, Andy, Sleet, and Xavier. Each one has a different style room and three share the nearest bathroom to their rooms. (Mae Long, Shadow, and Andy share a bathroom. Bubbles, Sleet, and Xavier share. Saint, Sergio, and Smoke share a bathroom.)

[You, my friend, can change this up however much you want. Just not the kitchen. It's funny. Lmao.]

Mae, whenever she felt like cleaning up, was actually an excellent housekeeper. That happened anytime she stepped on some small, pointed object, so naturally it happened once every two or three months. Her room, however, was spotless, and between all the time she spent lounging and sleeping, it wasn't hard to do at all. A futon, a dresser, and a bookcase were all that Mae needed or wanted, so she got a small room. Surprisingly enough, she didn't argue too long before deciding it was big enough.
Smoke, the quiet thing that she was, was nevertheless very active. She enjoyed spaces to practice her power, to run, to walk, and then a comfortable bed to sleep in after the inevitable crash. She had an old, rusty wrench in the corner, where she worked on putting stuff together. Her bed was handmade- not a pretty sight, but stable enough. Smoke didn't do it for profit or need, however, just when she felt like having some alone time.
Andy, despite his arguments, was an excellent seamstress, though he'd pinch anyone who decided to say that. Other than that, he was pretty useless, so tailoring ripped clothes was the only thing he could do to help, being an extremely poor chef (despite having the experience of almost being caught on fire once already) and is as untidy as can be. Not even Mae wants to go in his room. He normally just sleeps in a chair, his bed being so heaped with crap. No one even knows why he has that uch stuff- he just does.
Sergio is a Jack of all trades. He's not particularly good at anything, but if someone were sick or otherwise unable to do whatever needed to be done, he would be adequate to step in for them. He makes wonderful cookies, however, and keeps his room cleaner than almost anyone- excluding Mae, of course.

Saint pattered irritably around the kitchen, because there was no place to walk in the living room with Amber's bubbles everywhere. It was raining outside, more like flooding, really, but everyone else said rainging, so she just had to deal. There was no way to get into the training room Saint and Sergio built ages ago, and it was forbidden to use their powers it front of normal people unless it was nessecary. So Saint was stuck in the pristine white kitchen, pacing. Again. It was ten o'clock in the morning and most everyone was asleep, except Saint and Bubbles of course. Saint considered beating her head against Sergio's door until he woke up, but decided to not. Last time she did that, he bashed her bruised head with the door and went straight back to sleep. No, it was better to just let him sleep. He'd be more awake then anyway, for the trainging session. It went like this, see. Saint grabbed one person every morning as soon as they got up and beat the crap out of them for the rest of the morning until lunch. Then, after lunch, she had them try to break through her defenses until dinner. After dinner, she would coach them on what they did right, wrong, exetra. It was Sergio's day. Saint trained five days a week. Four of them were spent insulting the people she trained, and the fifth she was being educated by Xavier. In two weeks, everyone has been trained as ordered by Saint and the cycle starts over again. So, for everyone else, they have one day every two weeks of dealing with no one by Saint all day long. No wonder no one was fond of trainging days. But oh well. Saint hissed in frustration, bashing her skull against the white ceramic counter. She woke up too early, it seemed, and has no one to badger except Bubbles, who did enough badgering for the two of them plus some.

Bubbles giggles as the bubbles she animated started spouting off random insults that Bubbles could vividly remember Saint saying. The bubbles was a dark purple, being as Bubbles had been trying to make it black but failed in doing so. The 'Saint' bubble whizzed around the bubble-ified living room, insulting all of Bubbles' other bubbles that were inanimate. "Buck up and fight me, pansy! My two front teeth can hit harder than that! Not even a retard is gonna sit there for you to hit them, so move your slow butt! My grandma can hit harder than that! Oh come off it, I didn't hit that hard! Quit your whining and get your butt moving!" And many more. Bubbles fell over laughing . . . Straight into a pair of very angry legs. "Uh, hi Saint," Bubbles said, staring up at the very angry teen. Bubbles rolled over and stood up slowly, laughing nervously. The 'Saint' bubble popped. "I guess I'll just clean up, huh?" Saint nodded, glowering. Very, very quickly, Bubbles popped all of the bubbley mass she had created and tidied up. Mae could do the rest if she left a poinky bubble on the floor. "Don't forget that one," Saint growled, pointing to the pointy bubble Bubbles had left. The younger teen giggled nervously and touched the bubble, forcing it to disappear.

Sergio stretched, waking up rather earlier than normal. He grinned widely, crawling out of bed to get dressed. His normal sleep attire was just a pair of pants, and while he wouldn't mind going out in just that, he could bet that Mae would have a heart attack. If she saw him anyways.
Instead, he threw on a simple pair of dark denim jeans and a green t-shirt over a black long sleeve shirt. He ruffled his hair to get rid of the lingering traces of sleep, before sidling over towards the small-ish bathroom he tended to use. Mae had cleaned up just recently, and the bath practically sparkled. He, Mae, and Shadow had managed to negotiate with everyone else in the house for the only bath- the others made do with showers. That was mostly due to Mae, for, despite her little size, she could out-stubborn a mule.
Teeth brushed and face washed, Sergio stepped out of the bathroom, letting a waiting Mae use it. He rather admired how Mae could spend so little energy doing so much- she moved languidly, practically gliding across the floor rather than walking. Maybe that was her secret, and why she kept the woodwork well waxed, despite Andy's protests.
He stepped into the living room, cautiously- no one there. Was everyone still asleep? He spied a little bubble floating gracelessly over the kitchen counter, and a hand reaching out to pop it. He laughed quietly, and stepped to the left, into the kitchen.
"Saint? You up? I see you, Bubbles."
PostPosted: Mon May 26, 2008 11:30 am

Bubbles grinned widely and stepped out into the living room to look at Sergio. And suddenly, she sneezed. Instantly, a little shiny bubble appeared and captured the snot before it could infect anything else. That was one of the things Bubbles did automatically, without thinking, and couldn't not do. Her violet eyes twinkling mischeiviously, she reached out to send the snot bubble flying into Sergio's face, but a thin, pale hand gripped her wrist and twisted hard, sending Bubbles twisting over Saint's black-clad arm to keep fom hurting her arm.

"Don't even think about it," Saint hissed furiously. She let go of Bubbles' arm with a snap and slipped out of the kitchen, slowly, to glare at Sergio. "What took you so long? I've been up for ages waiting for you to get your sleepy butt up!" And then she proceeded to grab Sergio's arm and run outside, dragging him with her. Thank god she could move, 'cause if she couldn't, what she was about to do would never work. Saint threw Sergio up onto her back and leaped inhumanly quickly up onto the roof of their apartment and raced along the slippery shingles, already leaving one before the heavy rain made her slip. Saint jumped down onto the roof of the shed that covered the training room. The actual room was underground and almost as big as the apartment complex itself. Saint jumped down, landing with a slight slide due to Sergio's weight, and let him slide off her back. The lock clicked and the door creaked open before Sergio could see Saint's hand move and they slipped inside. The touch of a finger and Saint's ice blue eyes opened a trap door and they climbed down a ladder into the training room, Saint first, of course.

A little late in his answer, Sergio spoke up while climbing up the ladder. "Sorry, I'm still not good at waking up before seven o'clock or so, especially not when I'm helping Mae clean the gutters some nights."
Once Sergio had gotten up the ladder, he darted a little to the left and put on his gloves- he wore them any time he practiced with Saint. Or anyone, for that matter. He pulled on some special grippy socks as well- he would slide too much with normal socks, and shoes weren't handy.
He turned when he was mostly covered, and grinned a bit at Saint. He wasn't a bad fighter, to be honest, mostly due to the fact that he had an almost-crush on Saint. He did feel bad though, when he found he was a bit faster now- not as fast as Saint yet, though she would be feeling a bit slower, a bit drained. He hated when that happened.
PostPosted: Sat May 31, 2008 12:02 pm

A gloved hand snapped out and knocked Sergio's smiling face away from Saint. "Never let your guard down. Most people won't wait for you to get ready before striking." This friendly bit of advice was accompanied by a sharp kick to the side of his head that Sergio could barely see going back to it's proper place. Saint absolutely loved her steel-toed Doc Marten boots, especially since they never slowed her down. Anyway, a few more bruises to Sergio's ribs and he was catching up to her. that was one of the things Saint liked about Sergio. He'd always be able to get on the same train as her, so it was like fighting a slower version of herself. And she also noticed that, on those rare occasions she had everyone train on Saturday's, that Sergio was always able to pick up on each persons fighting style and fight like them. It was truly interesting to watch, and one of the things she wished she could do. Sergio managed to slide his foot into one of Saint's few gaps in her defenses and leaned back so that his foot wouldn't collide with her face . . . opening up another spot for him to strike her.

(( Gack, I'm terrible at fight scenes. >_< ))
"Yes, I know. And normally I wouldn't have a pretty enemy dragging me out of bed half-dressed. Or after I got out of bed, for that matter." With his foot providing the perfect opportunity to trip her, he grabbed her wrist and pulled down hard. He wasn't as fancy as Saint- he went for the simplest solution.
Sergio, when he looked down at his glove, very nearly pouted. He hoped that Andy would be able to fix his gloves, for he now had a sizable hole on his fingertip, a finger that he very dearly needed to fix up so he wouldn't... leech.

Smoke woke at a decent hour that morning, about the time Sergio had pulled on his gloves. She pulled off her nightgown- having first made sure the door was locked and wedged, the windows locked, and the curtains firmly pulled to- and put on a simple pair of khakis and a light-blue t-shirt. Having accomplished the larger majority of her morning routine, she paced towards her little corner of her room to work on the dog house she was building. She didn't have any pets, nor did she think that anyone in the house did have a pet. It was more for fun than anything.
So far, though, it was just a base with a couple of nails in it. No one had any idea what it was yet, and she planned to keep it that way for another month or so, enough time to finish building it, paint it, and work out other details.
PostPosted: Thu Jun 19, 2008 4:41 pm

[So'm I. That's why I'm practicing. Though I need to work on long ranged gun and medival fighting as well, and short-ranged medival. Care to help?]

"If you assume that, you won't be alive much longer!" Saint growled, slamming the flat of her foot in to the side of Sergio's face and rolling forwards over his arm, taking him down with her. "Besides, flattering your opponent won't save your life!" Plah! Fist to face. Saint twisted around so she sat on top of Sergio and commenced hammering away at his face. Saint squeezed her legs together, squishing Sergio's lower body sideways and squished harder. Yeah, her knees weren't exactly in the happiest of places. "And I ain't lettin' up!" she yelled, grabbing his face in both hands, purposefully spitting in his face. Sergio hated that. Hate-ed. [BE WARNED! I SHALT USETH THE SERGIO FOR GOOD PLOT DEVELOPMENT! PLEASE DO NOT PIMP SMACK THE TALON!]

[Here goes.] Sergio reached up, clawing at whatever part of Saint he could, tearing and ripping and pulling and tugging. There were a few awkward moments, but eventually he managed to get a hold on her head and slammed it sideways, with the rest of his body, into the tile flooring.

Saint gasped, <********> She let go of Sergio, pulling away from him weakly. "Truce!" To be honest, she didn't actually have to say that. He'd let go of her all frightened-like she moment her grip slackened. Gasping for air, Saint crawled off of Sergio, planting herself next to him. "Trade . . . gloves . . . with me," she gasped out, tugging off her gloves like any normal over-exterted person would. He'd sapped most of her speed. Damnit. They couldn't fight now, Saint wouldn't know where to start without her speed. Damnit, damnit, damnit!

Sleet groaned and rolled over in his bed, falling off as usual each morning. He moaned and rolled over again, onto his stomach, and slowly pushed himself up so he could see around the floor and under the bed. Groggily, Sleet pulled on the nearest pair of jeans to him, the pair he wore yesterday, and the day before that and the day before that, etc. Yawning, Sleet stumbled out of his room, shirtless as there was no shirt near him on the floor, and walked straight into Andy. ['Cause he a f** - NOO! I'm kidding! Unless you feel like going that direction. fags are cute.] Groan . . . groan. Sleet didn't even have enough enegery to push himself up off of Andy, so he thought, What the hell? Andy'll make himself fuzzy. I wanted a pillow anyway, and proceeded to hug him.

(( -pimpsmacks- ))
Sergio pushed himself away from Saint, stumbling to a standing position. He was fast and as much as he almost liked it, he was horrified at having done this to Saint, of all people. "Ach, Saint, oh my god, I'm sorry! I didn't mean to, I swear, are you okay? I'll go, I'll get Andy to fix the gloves, do you need help getting up, 'cause I'll help you, oh god I'm so sorry please forgive me!"

Smoke hammered a board together, a wake-up call for anyone who happened to still be asleep. Mae would sleep through it, and Andy was possibly already up, and Sleet and Bubbles too. But she normally woke up Shadow with her raucuous hammering, often to his disdain. Two boards together now, slow and steady. She was done for the morning, at least, when she felt her stomach rumble angrily. She stood up, head bowed, and opened the door to find Andy and Sleet spilling into her room. She blinked.
"Agh! No, this isn't what it looks like! Make 'im get offa me!" Andy said, attempting to push Sleet off.
Smoke simply smiled, stepping over the pair towards the kitchen.
"No! Don' leave me!"
