Okay, this is my first attempt at a custom class, and I'd like to ask for some help. sweatdrop My ideas so far:
1. A blood bard enchants their instrument of choice and adds a weapon element to it. Examples would be a violin with a bladed bow, or a violent version of a harp with blades instead of strings? (Okay, that second one was NOT my idea. xd )
2. The enchanted weapon needs offerings of blood regularly in order to provide the blood bard with additional powers. The blood offerings must be from living sentient beings killed with the weapon part of the instrument. I'm not entirely sure what powers it will bestow at this point.
To tell the truth, I'm not very experienced at all in this, so I won't get my feelings hurt if you give me advice. I certainly don't want to make her too powerful or not powerful enough.
A friend of mine helped me with a few more ideas, but I don't have the paper it's all written on, so I'll put them up as soon as I talk with them again.

hm...
What I might do is check out DandD wiki for inspiration. There are plenty of made classes and even races there.
Second, got any good friends that can help you with that kind of thing?
I'm currently in the middle of making my first campaign and starting from semi-new player mode so I can't really help right now.
Funny, though. Not long ago I had a similar idea of a blood mage, something opposing a vampire sorcerer, you know?

There actually is a blood mage, it's in the complete arcane. Wicked class. I agree; look into dandwiki, it helps me with everything. The feats are amazing!
