Warriors of rank and valor, unite and gather- for the brim of darkness still engulfs the castle walls! What goes bump in the night? Enemies, pure of hatred and harm for the clan. As they gather night in and out, who shall be the ones to protect our loved ones? You, my friends, you must defend the castle.

Even when a battle is not going on, warriors, feel free to rp in here for any reason you like. How knows, hold spars, training sessions, social get togethers, or random encounters. But keep in mind, this is a group rp, and any other warrior may join in at any time.

~Only warriors may post in this thread.~

How to Fight

"Listen up ya yellow-bellied sleeze balls! Sorry to say, that if you pansy arses expected some formal training you ain't gettin' none of that liberal crap! So stand up, get yer s**t together, and keep yer mouths shut- this'll be a crash course and nothin' else. Ya hear?" -Inscribed by the longtime captain of the guard.

The System

Like before, a short rp post will be required for any and all attacks your gargoyle makes on an enemy. Leave all attacks open ended, I will not acccept auto hits on any account, and your attack will be tossed aside!

Once an enemy appears, any and all warriors around at the time can engage it, however it does attack back. Numbers beside the gargoyle is the number needed for the monster to attack. I will be rolling 2 of the same dice, so the second number rolled will be the damage done to the gargoyle targeted.

To attack, roll ONE 10-sided dice. 1-5 is a miss, 6-10 is a hit (for soldiers) and the number of damage you will do to the enemy. If your gargoyle does not faint (0HP) by the end of the battle it will up its HP! The amount varies depending on the type of enemy fought.

At the end of each battle all the HP resets back to full.

Leg guards: -2 damage to any attack to the gargoyle, +1 damage to any successful attack.
Arm guards: -1 damage to any attack towards the gargoyle, +2 damage to any successful attack.
Tail Stinger: +3 damage to any successful attack.
Custom Weapons: +2 damage to any successful attack.
Feline Familar: -2 damange to any attack on the gargoyle, +1 damage to any successful attack.
Canine Familar: -1 damange to any attack on the gargoyle, +2 damage to any successful attack.

Ranking

  • Soldier- A soldier's attack is only successful if the number rolled is 6-10. Soldiers follow the commands of officers and the commander, and are not responsible for making combat decisions such as retreating or stragedy.

  • Officer- An officer's attack is only successful if the number rolled is 5-10. Officers can form plans of attack, and only over-rided by the decision of the commander.

  • Commander- The commander's attack is only successful if the number rolled is 4-10. The top leader, general, and decision maker of the warriors. He or she is responisble for keeping the army up and making the tough decisions such as when to go to war and with who.

HP Growth

HP, or healthpoints, is exactly the amount of damage your gargoyle can take before its out for the count. However, your lil warrior cannot die from fighting something, since we are a B/C shop not a strict rp. This said, it can faint from exhaustion. Whether or not it receives serious injuries is up to to decide for whatever rp purposes you choose.

Once your gargoyle is accepted into the ranks of warrior, it will automatically have 12 HP. (10 orginally, and 2 from winning the battle to join the ranks.) There may be special events to raise HP in the future, but for now the only way is through battling and not fainting in the middle of it. If I feel a certain rp post for the fight, or I feel for some other reason a gargoyle deserves more HP, I'll reward it with whatever amount I please. Inspiring? ~__^

Spars

Unlike battles, this is a 'fight' rp'd out by two members (possibly more if agreed upon and asked about by the partcipants) that will be roleplayed out and will not have use of the dice for attacks or damage done.

What's so special about spars? Its a way to train youself up or perhaps even get some of that energy out for the next battle. However there is a reward to spars that Ropin takes a liking too; that being HP rewarded to the partcipants of each spar as long as its not slacking or lack of a creativity due to just wanting HP points. No, things like 'Aeitory ducked and then went to strike at Tyrent', will not be tolerated. I'm looking for moderate length for each post, creativity, and seriousness.

For spars, there is a certain etiquette to follow: All weapons should be dulled, removed, or tipped with rubber.

Death or perminant injury will be delt with severely... and at the mercy of the other warriors.

Large gashes that cause profuse bleeding is frowned upon.

For the speckled warrior, there was no greater thrill than that of a good brawl, however at the moment she was content to lay upon the stone stairwell of the main hallway. Her golden-amber gaze drifted upwards towards the ceiling as the golden sheen of her armor danced with the images of the torch-flames decorating the castle walls. It had been a bit of time, about a week she would guess, since the clan had gotten together to rescue the goddess and her mind reeled on a signle question. In terms of experienced protection, it had just been her and Tyrent out to fight whatever appeared. Had it been something more dangerous than a turtle-snake or ogre, they might not have been enough to ensure protection to the others.

The solution? Aeitory could merely frown at the answer, knowing full well the fighting capabilities of the present clan members. They needed more members in their ranks, this was certain. Though they would be untrained, untried, and ultimately as daft as she had been at first. She supposed she still was a bit daft, but since the werewolf situation she had learned quite a bit more than she had before. She certainly wasn't up to the task of training new recruits, despite their need for the man power.

tyrent rocked his head back and forth on his shoulders. God it had been a long week. He sighed and shook his head before pushing himself up with the flex of one arm under him. HE sighed contentedly "500..." HE stood his shoulders flexed his wings and he smiled. Well at least without a ton of warriors he could move through the ranks faster... at least to an officer... but what would be the point if there was no one to run laps and stuff like that.... he sighed and moved toward the castle his skin wsa finally done morphing. God that wasnt a pretty sight, At least he had gotten used to the tongue. He didnt think he would but it was over and he had free speech again. He hadnt seen Aeitory though. well maybe she knew a way to fix it...he didnt mind being part snake...everyone still held him with respect knoing the mutation came from that snake bite. He shook his head. his blue eyes locking on aeitory. "Well howdy stranger..." He smiled and flicked his tounge. a habit he frowned upon but couldnt help... HE smiled "I like what you did with that tooth i handed you...very classy..."

Perhaps she should have been training or attempting some sort of workout, but not when the day was as restless as this one. Lately she might go into one of her shadow-boxing techniques, but for now she was feeling like she needed to think and ponder the solutions of their little army delima. At the voice of a well-known male her ears pricked forward and she rested her weight upon her elbow to lift up her torso and watch the approaching Tyrent, a bit of a smile showing. She took pride in her comrade, in his strength and ability in battle, knowing that at least someone else other than herself could fight and fight well. "I hoped so, I didn't feel like keeping it as a necklace, as that seems to have been done quite a few times before", she mentioned, watching the odd habit of that new tongue of his. True she hadn't seen him for quite awhile, but the speckled warrior had heard a rumor or two about a snake-goyal. She just didn't quite think it would be Tyrent.

That was no concern though, she found his coloring a bit more interesting now, and that tongue she could make fun of if they happened to go about it in a manner of taunting. All in all it made her smirk at his image, as she rose from her place on the stairwell to tensidely stretch out her back and legs as she often did. "I don't suppose you've pondered the question of new recruits?" Since it was on her mind at the moment, might as well get his input.

Tyrent nodded. "Yes it has been done a few times.... which leads me to wondering if they would make necklaces with our teeth if they got the chance.." He smiled and leaned against the wall.

His mind racing he closed his eyes. he had been thinking about it but wat to say. "Yes i have... Honestly i think we need to get more people in... I say try once again to get them in the old way... if that doesnt work... We should lower the must get in number... I think we should see what they have for moves and what not..." He sighed. "Because sadly... its all on if they can get a good hit in... if they got in...we would have to train them... but you know... it would take longer." One shrug was all he had to say more about it.

"And you? Have any ideas on the problem of not enough people wanting...or just getting into the warrior ranks?"

The thought of a lycan wearing a gargoyle's tooth around their neck sent a chill down her spine she couldn't even comprehend. She was a morbid individual, one who took enjoyment in battle and bloodshed, and who had taken a trophy from the battlefield, yet the very thought of something like that didn't sit right with her. "There isn't a lycan-scum that we've faced with warrior spirit enough to claim such a prize." That was the way she looked at it, and would likely continue to look at it like that until one of the said lycan's beat her in a battle.

However it was Tyrent's ideals of the recruiting system that got her attention, at which point she contently folded her arms just under her chest to listen with perked ears. He was her sparring partner, a comrade she trusted to back her up if she needed it, and one she would at least give the respect to listen to with an open mind. They were Warriors of Eternal Nights castle, and Aeitory would prefer to build up the trust in the ranks than go off fighting for one's own, alone. At his inquirely she nodded her head, wings folding behind her back and shuffling along her sides. "I kinda like the process we go through already, for if we just take in those with fighting skill alread- which at this point would be a very small amount of the population- then there is the possibility of over-looking someone who may become a treasured member of the ranks and a reliable partner in battle. Heck, I didn't have any experiance when I joined, and look where I am now", she spoke lightly, easing herself into her ideas. "Yet I know we need more than just ourselves. It would be much easier if Hudson were here to lead, but I won't use that as an excuse. Perhaps we should just spread the word around the bit, get people interested first-" and that's where her idea came to a sudden explosion, the female's vivid eyes widening slightly as her tail flicked enthusiastically out behind her.

"We should hold a public demonstration out in the courtyard. Not only will it give us a chance to exibit the strength of our building clan, we may just get some indivuals interested in what we do. What do you think, Tyrent? Would you be up to it?" It was odd how she could be so morbid and intense some days, and others hold a childish amusement in ideas. But that was Aeitory, the young speckled warrior who joined the ranks as a mere teen.

Tyrent thought about it for a moment. his ears perked listening. "I think it would be a good idea... If more people couls get into the idea... more people would try out and then more people would build up a want to join..." He nodded. "Yes i can see it working."

"So when should we set it for... so we have time to get the word out... "He smirked" Or should we just fight until it gains some attention" THe devilish glint was in his eyes. Fighting had always been his life and there was no exception now,

"But i agree ... Hudson should be here... it would make everyones life easier and it would take pressure off us as well. so i think we either get more people in the ranks or drag his butt out of hiding... they both have a certian idealistic ring to them..." He smirked

"The goyals i thought would make the rank didnt and the one i didnt know about made it... so i dont think a draft would be a good idea either... though... sadly if the lycans came full on... i doubt we would have a chance... We have about 15 hunters... give or take a few... 3 warriors excluding our lost leader... and a bunch of random clan goyal who sadly cant fight and just get in the way... so it would be about 20 against.... 500....give or take one hundred..." He shook his head...

"But then again... thats just figures... it has no accountance of skill and we all know our three warriors are better then a mob of wolves..."He nodded. "But then again im like that... i call a spar...to get our mind off the distressing news." He smiled. "Unless....your not feeling up to it..." he smiled with the teasing tone.

It was strange, the relationship she considered within the ranks of the two of them. He felt like kin, sort of, though the only trust factor she knew of was that he would be as willing to fight as she was. Relatively strangers asides from what they knew about each other said and done within the realm of fighting and stragety. However, that's all she desired. A partner other than her own shadow to train with, and one that would fight back. Beyond what she knew about him already, she would not inquire about, as that would most assuredly leave her unfocused.

Why were things like this going through her head? The devil had brought up the idea to spar and fight, and she couldn't help but latch onto it with mental claws. "The fighting surely catches my attention, no doubt it would bring others out to watch", she grinned, sparsely desiring to hide the sheer glee she got from such an idea. What better way to get them out and looking than a huge fight that looked real? Of course, it would be real, it would be a spar, and if she remembered correctly from their last one, sparring was taken quite seriously by the both of them and their blows.

The Hudsen thing though, she simply shook her head at. Honestly she hadn't a clue where the bugger was, and if they would be able to drag him out. There was unspoken words between her lips that wanted nothing more than to push themselves out. Someone had to take his place for the good of the clan. She didn't quite desire to be the head warrior, but if she must than she would. Officer would be fine with her, less politics, more fighting, and able to focus on training rather than leading. That was her goal. To rise above and then focus on perfecting her skills, not her delegating. "Lycans. I know what you mean, if they show up again we'll need to be more prepared in both skills and numbers wouldn't hurt." That was the difficult thing though, getting the numbers to actually climb into a decent amount. She was aware of the newest recruit, a female warrior by the name of Reea, as she had seen her fight to get into the ranks. Yet, she hadn't quite made an appearance yet, so Aeitory hadn't a clue what to think of her.

"Unless I'm not feeling up to it? Do you have a clue who you're talking to?" her grin returned, flashing her row of ivory teeth. Taking a step over and walking by, her clentched fist playfully, yet a bit forcefully pressed into his shoulder. "I accept the spar. Meet me round back, I gotta get my rubber stoppers."

Tyrent smiled. "Alright ill be back there... but i have to go get my rubber spur covers.... i think i look much more warrior like with them un-rubbered... but for the spar..." He let off a dramatic sigh and then ran over to his bag rummaging through for the rubber covers.

His ears twitched and he sighed. And if this didn't work? What would they do? He shook his head and placed the rubber over the deadly points. Flapping his large wings he stretched and launched himself into the air soaring lightly to the designated spot. placing the rubber o his dagger he put it at his hip.

His tail rattled. a minor flaw. instead of the whistle the stinger made he got a rattling sound... oh yes so very deadly a sound a baby could make. He sighed and took account of the weapons at his disposal and then debated against most of them... most of his were unique to him... if he wanted to get people interested then they would have to use moves even those less talented could hope to learn... He nodded to himself. He looked around for the blue goyal and then glanced to the side. He could already see a few of the goyals were already gathering to watch... most too young to participate but... He shrugged. it was better then nothing...right?
PostPosted: Thu Jul 03, 2008 5:36 pm

Tyrent Waited. Aeitory was taking forever... "Is there anyone who would like to spar until aeitory... comes out for the...demonstration?" He was willing to spar any warrior who stepped up. He flapped his wings lightly. "Anyone...I promise there will be no blood shed... tops a few bruises..."

Moonlight perked up at the word spar. She might have one of the weirdest warriors. Seeing that she will do almost anything for a fight. "I will!" she said coming over to him. As normal there was a big smile on her face, which never seemed to disappear. "And I don't mind any bruises. Even a little blood won't brother me. At least that much." She let out a small laugh.
