Geek.Kon '08 is go!!!
The dates are th weekend of September 27 & 28th. The location will the Humanities Building and a portion of Vilas Hall. However, additional areas may be added in the future. We are also considering a set up with a University gallery for a pre-convention art show, and pre-convention movie nights with Memorial Union.
A new website is in the works along with a new mascot 3nodding .

Whoo hoo! Dates! Location! A staff bracing itself for much grumbling about said location! Yaaaaaaayyyy!!!
Seriously, though, I think the staff has just figured out why Madison doesn't have a big convention; there's just no where to have it! Besides the UW campus, any place big enough is prohibitively expensive. And any place not expensive as sin just isn't big enough! It's a horrible conundrum!
Luckily, the University is full of cool people who like us lots and is more than willing to work with us. We are confident that we'll be able to bring you another quality convention while still keeping admission totally free!!!
Mark your calendars, everyone! Geek.Kon '08 is go!

Say, is there any chance in any of the locations, we could be open overnight? I ask partly because we had to spend a whole lot of time getting there and setting things up both days, so it'd be nice if I could just set up the first day then take down the next day, y'know? Also, one event I was thinking about that we could do if we were open all night: 24-hour comic-party.

ZOMG! I am SO there next year. I did kinda promise a good galpal of mine that I kinda have a thing for that I'd be there for at least the next 4 years ehile she goes to school there.

Awesome! Our new website should be up sometime in Feb., too. We'll also be looking for volunteers soon, too. If anyone is interested in volunteering for 2 hours (no more than 4 hours a day, though), I'll be making a thread here until we get the new site up.

Aw, darn, I didn't realize how far this con was going to to be for me.
See, I live over in California, and I don't have the means to drive over the mid west.
I would love to go, after going to Anime Expo in Long Beach CA this year, I'd love to go to smaller, cheaper conventions.

XO NOOO!!!!!
I live in England, and there is NO WAY my parents would fly me over to America just to go to a convention, they wouldn't even drive me 100 or so miles!!!!
AND it was near the weekend of my 15th b-day =*(
