Pael stretched out in the courtyard, letting the fresh air wash over him. Now that he was more used to this place, he was getting a lot less worried. He was still restless, but if was a good restless. He wanted to DO something. When he got like this back home, he would play sports or get into scuffles with the other children. That wasn't much of an option at the moment, though. Besides, he really needed to get on with his studies. He was getting far behind the other students. Pael branched off of his usual walking course and sat down behind some trees a short distance from the central fountain. He flopped back onto the fragrant grass and let his mind wander.

Cariseka was bored, she's run out of things to do well exorcise and letter writing wise anyways. The young Selonian had never been in better shape and she had nothing new to report home about. This left her bored, especially she as of yet she'd been unable to move further in her lessons due to lack of a partner.
Lack of progress meant no new strength or power which meant she wasn't proving anything to those back home who had cast her out. With a sigh Cariseka made her way into the courtyard in search of company or at the very least inspiration.
She headed towards the fountain but became distract when her eyes spotted a strange.. something not far away from it " Hello?" Cariseka hoped she wasn't interrupting any meditation or anything. People always got mad when she did that.

Pael brought his thought out of the clouds as he heard the voice call out. He sat up and scanned the area for it's source. Some sort of... large, furry rodent? Ah well. "Hey," he responded, smiling at the newcomer, "Are you one of the other initiates? This place is so big I've hardly seen anyone." He stood up and stretched his hand towards the... girl? He wasn't very good with alien species, but if he had to guess he would say the other was female. "I'm Pael Kor, of Iridonia."

As the tans skinned boy sat up Cariseka examined him a bit closer, taking in the colour of his eyes and the potion and length of his horns. As an adult he might look threatening but not at the moment. Given this she extended her own hand to shake Pael's after he stood.
" I am Cariseka of Selonia," The young Selonian had never heard of Iridonia , but then again she'd never heard of many places " You are with Jedi or Sith Den?" the inquiry was important but neither answer would fully effect Cariseka's opinion of the boy just yet. Though she would favour her own kind.

"I'm sith," Pael responded, "I'm sure I could have managed to be a jedi if I'd wanted to, but I can't stand just sitting around and talking." He shook her hand firmly, then continued, "What about you?"

"Cariseka is also of Sith den" She grinned showing her teeth a bit " Talking is for some, not for me. My strength will be felt." Talking was for those who had time, Cariseka didn't each moment was precious.
She sighed softly " Still not used to being up here, it's warmer in a different way back home and everyone makes sense there." Heck It was still awkward for her to see males about, they were even more coveted.

"Makes sense?" Pael laughed, "everyone seems pretty sensible to me, but then maybe I don't make sense and just don't realize it." He looked around, reflecting on what she had said. "I dunno, it doesn't seem that warm to me," then again, he HAD lived on a desert planet, "your home must be pretty cold."

Cariseka shook her head " people act different it's very confusing breaks all the rules of home. " she sighed a bit" this is not home though, home is deep in the earth where it is warm becuase we are many in one place. one den filled with family. "
The young Selonian shifted from foot foot in agitation " This place is very lonely." Cariseka was still incapable of fulling being independent. She had been raised to rely on other s so that they in return felt comfortable relying on her. This place filled with many rooms were people slept apart and lived so alone connected only by the force. it was still very daunting for her.

"Yeah, it is." Pael was fairly used to spending time on his own, but even he was feeling the isolation that being at the academy brought about. "I never see any other kids around, though I guess they have to be somewhere. I think I've only seen three besides you..." For a moment, it seemed to Pael that his mind left the clearing, zooming out beyond the pair and taking in the full scope of the Academy. Empty halls, lots and lots of empty halls and nobody to fill them. He shook his head, coming back to the situation at hand. He was probably just being paranoid. "Well," He said, standing up a little straighter, "How about we be friends, so then we're not quite as alone?" A smile played across his lips.

Cariseka smiled " I would like that, to be alone is not good. Independent is good but you have to know people to work with people." Cariseka knew that she would have to work with others when she went on missions, it would not be good to forget how to socialize.
She eyed Pael for a second and then a thought filtered into her head " Has Pael completed the second lesson?" She could use his friendship now to complete it if not.

"No, I haven't." He responded, vaguely surprised. He had nearly forgotten that they were at an academy. "Haven't seen anyone to do it with," he said, chuckling, "Have you?"

The young Selonian shook her head, " Too many students, not sure who to ask, too many of the Jedi den." It wasn't that Cariseka had a problem with those who had chosen to join the Jedi den just that she felt uncomfortable around them, they seemed foreign it was like meeting members from another den, you weren't certain how to feel and act. here there was also no hierarchy among the students and that lead to chaos in the girl's mind.
" Would you like to work with me, we have same minds it will go well I think."

"Alright," pael responded happily. "Er.... how do you think we should begin?" He thought back to the first lesson and how he had sort-of interacted with the force. He somehow doubted that Cariseka used the same method.

The dark furred girl drummed her fingers against her thighs as she thought about that. They were both of the same den meaning they had both used emotions to connect with the force. Now Cariseka was used to the force brining her others emotions back home perhaps.. " You try to feel something, angry, scared, nervous and I will see if the force will let me know what you are feeling. If it works then we try the opposite and then we both try at once and we should be able to sense each other at the same time." it was possible a connection could be set during the first part of the plan but Cariseka still considered the force a finicky thing.

"Alright," Pael settled a little in his stance and tried to evoke an emotion within himself. The harder he tried to feel something, however, the farther away the emotion seemed. "Er..." he mumbled sheepishly, "just a second." He shook his head and tried again. He thought of his parents, so far away. Without him to protect them, who knows what was happening? The worries that had been plaguing him bubbled up and encompassed him, bringing such a wave of anxiety and loneliness that he had to bite the inside of his cheek to avoid whimpering.
