So I actually feel better about myself know. I find that exercising helps a ton. I just practice for a while and I feel so much better about anything that bothers me. I feel more motivated and more confident. I was really upset on Friday, until I went to my class, then I felt great.
Apparently exercising enough to break into a sweat releases endorphins, which are the chemicals that make people happy. (I know the idea of happy chemicals sounds really bad sweatdrop )
Anyway, I really suggest exercising before going to work or school or wherever you spend most of the day. It can be really hard to start, at least for me. When I'm depressed, the last thing I want to do is get up and start doing something that seems so pointless, but I'm always really glad I did.
So if any of you weren't aware, I do various martial arts. Do any of you exercise? What do you do?
Is anyone interested in starting?

In spring, summer, and fall I go on crazy long walks. Some days I go for four or five hours, if wanderlust hits me. I walk until it hurts and then keep going. biggrin
I recently started playing Quidditch, a la Harry Potter - a group just started up around here. Good times. It made me realize how out of shape I am, though, so I've started running a bit. That is, of course, until snow started falling... sigh.
I get fatigued if I don't exercise enough, so winter is usually kind of tough for me. I do pilates and yoga and I use my exercise bike, basically anything that I don't have to leave the house for (I HATE going out in the cold if I don't have to). I think I'm going to take up either dance or martial arts this winter, since there are studios for both literally one minute from my house.

I make sure I walk to and from school everyday. That's really the best I can do. I mean, coffee makes me happy, so I'm good just with that.

I used to work out 4-5 hours every day before my fibromyalgia set in. It made me feel better not only physically, but self-confidence-wise as well.

What's fibromyalgia and why does it keep you from exercising?

I like the idea of exercise too. Two years back, I used to go to the gym nearby my house, but that lasted just for a month. I'm lethargic, cannot help it. I bought myself a morning walker/jogger too, but the same thing repeated. sweatdrop Finally, early this year I opted for morning walk in a park nearby, felt it was better than all. But, I was struck by acidity within a week. It developed due to the poor eating and sleeping habits I used to have 3 years ago. At that time, I used to sleep probably for just 2 to 3 hours. I used to keep on studying. I didn't know that it will have a negative impact in the long run. whee And the good news is I'm no more having acidity past six months!!! I like to exercise, but I don't think I can help it!!!!!

I know what you're talking about, I have trouble getting up and doing things like that to (As referenced to in the other thread). But I never say I can't, the fact is, I'm just choosing not to, because I'm being a lazy a**.

I'm a runner. 2-3 Miles a day. (Unless it's snowing or really cold, then I'm a wuss.) But when I'm upset, I grab my sai and run through kata. (Yeah great Idea Element, you're pissed off and grabbing a weapon.) It does help settle me down and put me in a better state of mind to think things through.

popinjaypops Duh??? U seemed to be pretty slim in ur photograph with that short haircut???? Aw, thanks! Hehe. I'm not overweight, but I don't do a lot of running or anything, so I get really winded playing sports that require running. And stairs are a pain, too. razz
