Recently, I was talking to my boyfriend about the power of the mind. I came up with the conclusion that the reason we can't communicate with our minds is because we've been keeping them as private spaces of thought that no one can access. I believe this is the reason we can't talk. If this is so, however, how come dolphins have the knowledge to do it? I think one day we'll be able to access a place in our brains where we can filter our thought and communicate with close friends or companions, much like strained macaroni =P. Our private thoughts would be the noodles and the water coming out through and the strainer would be the thoughts we put out to others. What do you guys think about this?

Consciousness outside of instinct is a recent development..
It is yet very coarse and unrefined
I believe we do communicate in a wordless language
synchronicity if you will
This is especially true if you have ever experimented with chemicals that have hallucinogenic effects
It is just about reading the same silent pulse

Edward Cullen Luvs Penguins I was thinking of ways to improve this guild alittle. Like a suggestion's thread and maybe a library sub-forum. Little things that make it a more exiting place to be. "Penguins... Lovely."

i agree with what ur talking about and if we one day can do it i think it will b tons of fun especially for me ^_^ i love messing with my brother so if i can read his mind ill be able to mess with him even more ^_^ but i dont think ill live long for when we can do that o well i still think i would b cool if we can do that now

A friend of mine used to believe that was possible and was so scared people would hear her thoughts that she tried to only think innocuous ones. However, that didn't really work because she was so depraved wink
I believe we can already do this, just not so literally. I can tell just by minute details what my close family/friends are thinking about and how they are feeling. It's always a burden when they're annoyed at you.

I think that people may not have the power to actually read minds right now but soon they will. But now people have the power to guess whats going through a persons mind, its like when you guess what a person is thinking and they ask "are you reading my mind" I think it is a case of them being able to analyse a persons body language, facial expressions and the way they talk quite quickly.

Princess Teyla I think that people may not have the power to actually read minds right now but soon they will. But now people have the power to guess whats going through a persons mind, its like when you guess what a person is thinking and they ask "are you reading my mind" I think it is a case of them being able to analyse a persons body language, facial expressions and the way they talk quite quickly. That makes sense, but what about people with unfathomable expressions? neutral No one knows exactly what's going through their heads. question I often wonder how they do it. My expressions are usually either readable or someone thinks I'm sad/depressed(when I space out) -edit- you know how when you close your eyes and someone is either staring at you(which makes you open them) or they put their hand over your face and you can feel their energy? That's what I think mind communication would be like. Sort of like a senser that taps into the other person's attempt to contact you. 3nodding

Well some people are harder to read than others, but I think some people just have that gift of reading people, like how eventhough your not talking to someone face to face but through a computer you can tell they are hiding something eventhough they are acting like they usually do.
That like when people stare at me from behind and I get all hot, its like a sense, a sixth sense, maybe when we as a people grow more that sense will turn into mind communication. Its also kind of like when people talk about you and you swear your ears burn eventhough you cant hear them talking about you or even see them.

I believe we'll eventually either create a special technology to be able to communicate through our minds, or we'll evolve into it. There have been studies about twins and how they are able to sense how the other one is feeling, so maybe that's what needs to be researched to understand how mind communication works.

I have heard that before, but it didn't occur to me that- would it neccessarily be accurate to state that clones could do this? I mean, if you think about it, in strands of DNA, identical twins only have a few things about them changed. The same thing can be said about clones, right? Or am I wrong? question

I feel the same way on this subject. I can tell what friends and family are thinking with out verbal communication, but sometimes I notice I do wtih complete strangers as well. I guess it depends on connections (influences.)

It's referred to ESP Extra Sensory Perception.
