Anyone else pick up on this? I sure didn't the first time I watched it when I was a kid. However, when they started showing reruns on ToonDisney, I made sure I was there to record the episodes I loved the best.

Watching the episode--I can't remember the name, it may have been "Legion", but sometimes I make up names when I can't remember. But it was the episode where we find out about the different personalities within the ColdStone shell. This time watching it, it became obvious to me that the entire thing was an homage to Othello.

The sequence where the evil one (soon later ColdSteel) tricked his brother into believing Goliath was out to steal his mate was a direct take on Iago's plot in the play in tricking Othello into killing his comrade and his wife Desdemona.

And sure enough, reading the voice credits, the characters were even listed as "Iago" and "Desdemona". I felt so dense.

.....Holy crap, you're right! And me who thought that Demona was the only Othello refference. XD (She's actually listed as Desdemona in the credits, as well)

Heck, I was even the one who was reading Iago's parts, when we read the play in class. You'd think that ColdSteel's talks would have been familiar to me.
