I've been thinking of buying a hand held, and I was wondering what would be a good system. A lot of the people I know have Nintendo DS, and the games are more affordable than a PSP....But I'm not much of a gamer, so I'd just be starting out here.

i like the DS better, most of its games are mindless fun and are directed more towards casual gamers
the PSP has a bad controll setup and is pretty expensive but with lots of extra stuff

I have a nintendo Ds. Its pretty cool. The games are great. I don't know much about the psp.

PSP seems to have really dropped off. I don't even see commercials for it anymore.

Actually, I have a DS too ^^'
It's definately geared towards different gamers, so you can just pick up some games and play them, without ever having before.
The Psp is more towards those guy gamers who need a handheld at all times. I say guy gamers because the Psp mainly harbors guy-targeted games (ie, fps, racers, sports)
The DS is a lot cheaper and the range of different games you can buy is a lot bigger. Also, you can play with all of us online surprised

The DS is probably the most adicting portable system I have ever had. xd

unless your a major final fantasy fan.i see no reason to take the psps over ds...yes i know there are ff on ds..just well the psp ones are the same or better...

The DS is awesome it has awesome games, great online play, And they are making a channel for the wii where you can download demos on to it. Does it get any better? biggrin

Heh heh...I went out and got the PSP, though I might buy the DS later. I went surfing the internet the other day, but haven't gotten to playing a game on it yet. I picked up the God of War: Chains of Olympus and a memory card for it. I also want to get some UMD movies, just so I can tell my kids I owned one once (kind of like 8 track tapes smile ).

well for a good selection of games and cheapness gameboy adv. is the way to go, you want downright fun interactive and lots of different interesting things get DS, is cheaper then psp but the graphics and overall "coolness factor" lacks psp is the way to go if your looking for overall performance graphics and game engine, well developed games and a fairly decent selection though the price is a bit higher then DS psp has many incentives as now you can use the newer psp's as not only for internet and gaming and music and video but for a cellphone for 3 dollars a month. overall the psp will eventually pay for itself but their are still other choices.

I was half way tempted to get the DS because it can play Gameboy Advance games on it, but I went with the PSP because the games looked a little more challenging (although the DS system's "My French/Spanish/Word Tutor" games looked interesting, but I'm just nerdy that way). I also wanted to be able to watch movies and listen to music (even though I have an iPod Nano now). I also really wanted the wi fi.

yeah another incentive of DS is the backwards compatability with gba games....oh yeah for the one above up their that said theirs demos to be downloaded on a channel for wii and such, well its already been beaten, ps3 has had that for a long long time for demos for psp and ps3 downloads for free
