I don't think you do. I've seen your posts in the F&S and you sure don't come across as scene to me at all.
Personally, it'd ruin my day too, if I got an invite like that. If it's any consolation, I got a slightly offensive guild invite the other day from someone who thought my being a Toy Soldier meant I was a radical political separatist. scream
But don't let it get you down. I myself just take small comfort in the fact that those scene brats made a rockabilly/80's glam fashion Frankenstein in an attempt to look original and it just came off irritating (apologies in advance to scene sympathizers) and that's something that we take no part in. cool
