Ah, one of the most awesome shoujo-ai and yuri companies EVER.
They basically just publish yuri and shoujo-ai from Japan. Some mature, others not so much, but they work really hard, and it's nice to know we have at least one big supporter.
Personally, I'm hoping to get my shoujo-ai fantasy story published by them, or Tokyopop. Anyway, they've been to a few anime conventions, and I actually saw them when I went to Otacon (Stupid little brother wouldn't let me buy them because he'd be emberassed. stare ), and they had a lot of books on sale. They had shoujo-ai AND yuri, so they're pretty open about it.
Of course, they were kinda close to the Yaoi booth, so it was hard to manuever. xp

What I don't get is why Borders will sell yaoi, but not yuri? Is it beacuse they are afraid that women will be offended? Well, I can just say ion response that I'm offended that they put boy-love there and no girl-love. I want yuri-manga... I can't even find any Utena there anymore. IT's good t know there is a compny devoted to yuri, so that's got to count for something, right?

Went to their panel at Anime Central this year, and it was pretty damn boring. I didn't appreciate how all they did was tell everyone what they liked and didn't like. They did a little history and talked about some series that hadn't come over here. I felt kind of insulted, because everything they hated, I liked. I asked them a question about a series, and they just sorta said, "Yeah, it's gonna be picked up by *insert name cuz I can't remember*. We're not really into that show, but yeah, it's going to be picked up."
As for bookstores and what not. I'm sure they'll get more mature stuff eventually. Yuri still isn't as popular as yaoi, so it'll take some time to catch up. At least they've been releasing a lot more shoujo-ai stuff. And even in the anime department, more shoujo-ai as been released in the States.

I would like them to come to Sakura-con. Sakura-con has been over-run by yaoi, and yuri is becoming increasingly difficult to find. I'm going have to start expanding my convention attendance to other states =.=

Rush_Hardroc What I don't get is why Borders will sell yaoi, but not yuri? Is it beacuse they are afraid that women will be offended? Well, I can just say ion response that I'm offended that they put boy-love there and no girl-love. I want yuri-manga... I can't even find any Utena there anymore. IT's good t know there is a compny devoted to yuri, so that's got to count for something, right? It's not that people will be offended. Most bookstores have a gay and lesbian section so I'll tell with confidence that is not the reason.
Companies that publish yuri are few and FAAAAR apart. The ones that do are either just publishing slashy/canon s**t that you wouldn't know was yuri if someone didn't tell you, or they're a very small company that simply cannot afford to be printing and shipping out all of that manga. They probably wouldn't even make half of what they spent doing all that back when you buy the book because yuri has such a small fan base.
It is possible that you could place a special order on a book that you want if it is published but be prepared for it to be expensive or just be prepared for disapointment in general.
If everyone works hard to get atleast one person they know into yuri we could see yuri in the bookstores in the future. However, for right now nothing is going to happen.
