So I was reading around the forum, and the general consensus seems to be that girls usually put tampons in incorrectly at firstk, and that is where the pain comes from. So the tampon itself shouldn't hurt you?
I've only tried inserting a tampon once, but I only inserted it maybe a quarter of an inch and it was considerably painful. I didn't even attempt to force it further.
Is this a common problem, or am I just doing something wrong? Is it possible that my v****a is just unusually small?

Many girls have trouble putting in tampons at first. They often wonder if something is wrong with them or if their v****a is too small or deformed. That's almost never the case though.
If tampons hurt, you might not be putting it in incorrectly. That can take practice. Once it is in correctly, you should not be able to feel it, and only the string should be left hanging out.
However, you also might feel pain if your v****a is very dry or if you are nervous and tense. Relaxation can be very important when putting in a tampon.
