Origins: Vieda is the only child of the last Es Xiem, her father. Xiem are the religious and political leaders of Oa. As their Es, or leader, he oversaw the duties and practices of the Xiem as a unit. Their role in the society as a whole is mainly ritualistic, performing ceremonies more for the sake of culture and celebration than of religious beliefs.
The Oan people pride themselves on their sophistication, and Vieda has been tutored and trained in politics, protocol and philosophy since she was a child in anticipation of her position. She inherited the role of Es Xiem, leader of Oa, at the age of nineteen. Since then, she has worked to promote the furthering of her country, culturally and economically. She's developed an appropriate taste for luxury on the way, however. Oa's flourishing trade economy based on their oceanic ports makes it easy for a member of the upper class such as herself to gain access to any luxury- food, cloth, jewels, intoxicants- that she desires. She has learned to take advantage of this benefit.
Powers: Vieda has no "powers", only skills. Though no magician, Vieda is adept at the art and science of alchemy, a lifelong fascination of hers. The citizens of Oa have pride that their leader embodies the nation's principles, detachment and elevation above crude mysticism through rational perception, rational knowledge, and rational conduct.
