Bak: A town the grew from the activity at the cross roads. It started off as just a few inns that provided shelter to weery traverlers. As more settled it blossemed into a nice quaint traper and woodsman town. The South Woods lumber is of the highest quality and Woodworks made from that always last generations. The houses of the citty are all made from lumber of the south woods, which themselves are alive with activity and are good hunting grounds for furs during the colder months.
Notable features: Hunting Lodge and Trappers Guild
Strange ruins in the South Woods them sevles is an excellent attraction for explorers and architects looking to unlock the past. These ruins have gained a reputation of being infested with Kobalds and Goblins, but the real threat are the stray barbarian bands that get into the forest every so often.
The road leading west has become very dangerus with thieves of all kinds raiding the rich caravans going to and form Soldur. Defending against this is a constant chore for the government troops who took to building towers every mile garrisoned by ten to twenty men. People have all but forgotten the true name of the road and now call it Gaurdians Path.

Walking into town after a days training, Vorialistraz comes to a crowd at the end of a speakers time.
"Ey, you, what was he blathering about, what did I miss?" He called to the local scriblerarian.
"Hah, nothing much this town would be intrested in. Something about Arena matches up in Talantha. I was sent down because well, this town finally had SOME news." the reporter laughed.
"Arena matches?" Vorial thought to himself "Bring me the most detailed maps of all the towns from here to Talantha when you get a break, would you?" He called to the man.
"You got it, V, whaddya need them for though?" the reporter asked.
"Eh, I think its about time my abilities were tested, if nothing else I'll bring some coin back to this town, eh?" V chuckled.
Something much bigger than cracking trees in the forest was about to happen, as he sat down to study the maps and memorize everything he could for the gate. Much, much bigger.

Raven enetered the Gold Feather Inn after listening to the announcement. At first, she had wanted to go, but she knew she couldn't.
"Hey, Ray!" A usual to the tavern part of her Inn called out to her.
"Yeah Grane?" She said walking over to him. "What can I get you?"
"Nothin' really, already got meh usual. Just wanted to ask yeh somethin'. You goin' to this arena thing?" He asked, looking at her with his slightly glazed over eyes.
"Probably not." She said with a small smile as she started cleaning up the dirty plates and cups near him. She knew he was almost completely drunk by now. "I've got to much to do around here."
"You're wastin' your talents here, you know that right?"
"Yeah, well, at least I'm wasting it on my family and friends. Plus, I get enough extra coin from beating you guys in the Rafters." She replied starting to walk off. "Hey, Grane, don't drink to much more 'kay? Don't want you incapable of walking home."
"Tryin' to get rid o' me?" He laughed.
"Something like that!" She called out with good humor before walking into the kitchen. But his words, no matter how drunkenly spoke, kind of hit her as she set the dishes in the sink. She sighed and went to clean up other tables.

Ugh, thought Vorial, too much work and no play...... So he decided to stand up and go for a walk while taking a break from studying the maps.
Hmmm, maybe i can bother Raven while I'm free, Vorial thought.
Pushing his way through the door, he shouted out to Raven "Hey, you, How about you take a break from looking forlorn and pretending to work, and grab me a drink. Put it on my tab, haha."

"Pretending? Ha!" She called back to Vorial as she set down another mans order and took an empty mug from Grane. Though, with her practiced and almost natural grace, she moved around tables, picking things up and setting others down. Moving swiftly behind the counter she put the dirty dishes onto the bar and grabbed a mug, filling it with V's usual.
"Yeah, and your tab already has some things on it." She said with a laugh, bringing it over to him and sitting across the table, sliding the mug over to him. "What brings you to my quiet little Inn?"
"Quiet! Ha!" A laugh came.
"Shut up Grane!" She called back with a laugh. "Starting to scare me how I know the regulars." She turned back to V. "Don't know if its a good thing or a bad thing."

"Who knows?" Vorial chuckled. "I've been wondering... have you heard anything about those arena matches up in talantha? I was thinking of going, but you know.... i could use someone to carry the purse back with me. If you're too busy around here, i completely understand. Of course, if you're afraid of the big bad city too, that I'll just make fun of you for."
He propped his feet up on a chair and waited for a response, taking a nice long drink.

Raven sighed slightly and folded her arms. "Afraid? No, definantly not." She said with a small smirk. But some of the laughter had left her eyes. "I'd like to go its just...You know if I can leave this all for my sister and father to do. I...." She had taken one of her daggers out of its sheath and was twirling it in her hand, a little thing she tended to do when thinking, though she seemed to be staring at the table rather than V or the dagger.

"Well, the offer is there. Aside from saving me mule renting cash i suppose it would be nice to have company to talk to. And who knows, maybe we can both bring some coin back to this town." V sighed as he finished off his drink, and pushed it through the table.... and into the sink 20 feet behind him.
"I've got more maps to study, since I plan on gating me and anyone who wants to come with. Think it over, eh? I don't think the inn would fall apart without you here, but talk it over with your sis and father. You know where to find me."
He waved as he walked out the front door.

Raven bit her lip. "Yeah, I'll think it over." She said quietly, watching him leave. Standing she finished picking up whatever dishes had been left behind and walked into the kitchen. Walking past her father and sister, "I'll be out back taking a small break." She mumbled, there was no way to push her desire to go to the tournament out of her mind now. So, one way for her to blow off steam and try to think was spend it in her greenhouse. A few minutes went by as she watered her flowers in silence, the plants seemed to be even brighter green in her presence.
"Ray..." Raven set her watercan down.
"Sara, you know I can't." She immediantly said, not turning to face her younger sister. "Besides I-"
"Don't even tell me you don't want to go." Sara shot back, her blue eyes ablaze. "Why do you lie to yourself?"
Raven remained silent and turned to Sara. "I don't want to leave Dad all this work." She said quietly after a moment.
"Hey, I'm here. I'm not ten anymore." Sara replied walking up to her. "I'm sixteen and fully capable of running a business. Sure, I'll have more chores to do, but you can't stay cooped up in an Inn your entire life."
Her words struck deep. "What about dad-"
"We already talked. He wants you to go. He knew a time would come when you needed to test your limits. Plus, if you win, you'll bring home some good coin to fix up the Inn." Sara said with a smile. "Go on, if you don't hurry, you might miss your ride."
Raven's eyes lit up with gratitude towards her sister for taking on her responsabilities. "Thanks Sara, I owe you one."
"Just do your best to win the tournament!" She replied with a grin.
With that, Raven was a blur of movement as she raced around, packing what little things she would need. Extra clothes, some food, some coins she had been saving up and slung it over her shoulder. With a quick hug to her sister she turned to their father.
"Got get 'em." He said with a smile. He couldn't hid the worry in his dark brown eyes.
"I'll be fine. Don't worry about me." She said, giving him a kiss on the cheek and embracing him a moment before she went looking for V.
"So, are we going or what?" She asked after quickly finding him with a smile. Her usual ready-to-go spirit sparking in her eyes once more.

"Haha! Its about damn time. I'm glad you decided to come. Now, just one last thing..... be sure to catch me when we land if i go down...... i have NO idea how much this is going to take out of me, and I have to touch down a little out of town to avoid drawing notice. I dont want undesireables asking me to rob anything."
Vorial grabbed his bag and stood up. Tying the bags string around his waist he got ready to channel almost all of the energy he can think this would need and then some, just in case.
As he got ready to open the gate, he laughed. "Next stop Talantha. I hope! I've never stopped to wonder whats going on between gates. Hold on tight, and dont. let. go."
He forced a hole through space itself, and pushed through. He could see a small copse outside of Talantha.
"And now it gets intresting."

Raven laughed a little and held onto his arm. "Don't worry, I'll catch you so you don't wind up breaking your head open before the tournament even begins."
When he explained how 'he hoped', her grip became a little tighter. "You never-!" She fell silent as they entered the gate, not wanting to destract him. "Interesting is an understatement." She muttered, her eyes closed to slits, unsure.
