Lesson 2 - How to make a good character
Now, you may think that creating a character is easy. That all it takes is filling out a profile skeleton and handing it in, but...that's only semi-correct.
You see, character development is a great part of roleplaying. Your character has to interact well with the other characters, their abilities have to be fair, and their backgrounds have to make sense.

Woo hoo, interactive lessons!
Alright, now when it comes to those kinds of situations, it may or may not be a good thing. You don't have to be nice to all the characters, but don't take it to a personal level and hate the player as well. Also, when making a character like that, you have to be very careful. You can easily distance yourself from other roleplayers, and have nobody to interact with. People could find you annoying, even, for being such a butt-head. Of course, it all depends on the situation.

Ah, how can you fix the problem of being annoying if you havent gone too overboard with the glumliness?

Well if they find you annoying, and you haven't gone all emo-in-a-corner on them, it could be a number of things. The way your character speaks to them, what all he/she can do, or perhaps it could be you yourself. As in, posting style, not as a person. There's really no way to find out how to fix it, unless you know what exactly is annoying them.

Well see, then you'd have to figure it out yourself.
And Sireez, while not putting your characters' Bio is fun for you, it's confusing to others. At least putting it up, then saying that NOBODY knows it, and giving no permission to anyone to say they do, would be better. Most of the time, however, you can keep certain things out of your bio, but tell the Mod of the RP everything, and ask to simply introduce them later. It all depends, again, on who you RP with.

Well if you're THAT annoying to them, just say you quit, you're sorry, but interacting with their characters is too complicated to figure out, and you don't RP to use your brain you do it for fun. Or...something. There's always other RPs, and to tell you the truth, there's most likely one JUST like the one you were in, the way Barton Town's going these days.

Alright, well moving on from Personality, I'd like to go farther into Background and Bios, if you don't mind. It's something I think matters, and whether you tell about them or not is only a small bit of it.

Yep ^^ I just used both..well because I felt like it xd
MOVING ON, however...
I don't know about other people, but when someone puts some crackpot story about their mother's cousin's uncle's brother twice removed raping and beating on them from the age of two in an alleyway under a bridge in a rat infested sewer, I get pretty peeved. A bio has to be semi-believable, and PLEASE, for the love of GOD, PLEASE just STOP with the pity parties! It drives me (and others) Nuts, and won't gain you any more attention. So if you want to, make it sad, but don't go overboard with it.
