Anime HutFor general anime chat This thread is for discussions on random/general anime. We've had some threads that simply don't get used, so this one is fit for all of it. Anyways, why didn't you mention yer favorite anime Jasta? If I had to pick just one, I believe I would have a hard time doing that...
Still, it seems one I can't get enough lately is FMA. I have only been able to see in in Spanish and I don't mind but, I would like to see it in English for once...

Particular favourites: FMA, Weiss Kreuz, Aeon Flux, Princess Mononoke... Howl's Moving Castle... Loveless, Earthian... love 'em all--and of course FF:Advent Children. smile I wanna be a Turk when I grow up...

I guess we all have anime we don't like or won't watch. For me, I don't like or intend to watch that "Prince of tennis". Seems boring to me...
Oh and get this, I typed animeplanet on my firefox one time and I ended up at a hentai site. Isn't that funny!? I had forgotten the little "-" in the middle of the two words. Oh brother! rolleyes

You bet it was a surprise for me Jasta! I mean, believe it or not, I am not the kind of guy who looks up sites like that. If I do though, it's usually rare. And I don't like Hentai much cuz it feels like porn for kids, ha-ha! rofl

So I watched all of Earthian (at least as much as is available in US formats, darn it!) over my vacation during New Year's. It rocked! It was a little predictable, but Oh Well! smile A lot of anime is, that's part of the charm.

Earthian? I've never seen or heard about that. What is it about anyway?
You know, this "Animax" channel we get here on our cable provider has a lot of anime but not that one. I've been watching ones like "Get Backers", "Heat Guy J" & "Lunar Legend Tsukihime", just to name a few. I also watched all 13 episodes of Hellsing. 3nodding

I don't watch enough anime. A friend of mine introduced me to CLAMP and Fushigi Yuugi.
- I also really like Cardcaptor Sakura. I'm a SUCKER for anime costume... and this series is just her changing clothes all the time!!!! I LOVE IT! I have an American Girl doll - and I've sewn several Cardcaptor Sakura outfits for her.

Earthian is about a planet-ful of angels (all the standard Jewish/Christian/Muslim ones plus others) who are charged with coming to earth to judge the planet's fitness to survive. There are negative observers and positive ones; the negative ones send in reports about bad things they see, and the positive ones report on good stuff. The decision on whether to destroy Earth and its people (known as Earthians) hasn't been made yet. Fallen or bad angels have black hair and wings as a rule; they are known as lucifers. (how original is that... Oy...) Each set of angels, usually a pair, has one negative and one positive reporter. The main angels in the story are Chihaya and Kagetsuya; Chihaya is the positive reporter of that pair. He was born with black hair and wings, and yet is NOT a lucifer; he's referred to as a freak. He keeps trying to contact the lucifers to find out the truth about himself, which of course gets him in trouble.
At some point Chihaya gets captured by an evil scientist who takes some of his DNA and creates a super-angel named Messiah. It turns into a rather intense, emotional storyline after that. smile It's really quite good, and though there is a yaoi element to it, the occasions when you see that are very few and far between. It's got a number of manga and doujinshi out in the storyline, and several VHS tapes; I haven't seen them as DVDs yet.

Wow Jasta! That anime sounds great! I wish animax could add it to its line up but that hasn't happened yet. rolleyes
Has anybody seen Get Backers? That's one of the ones I've been watching lately. 3nodding
