Here's the CNN report on the recent Geek.Kon '07: CNN CoverageI tried to find other local coverage, but it seems everything was taken down a while ago.

We made a lot of cosplayers happy that day....*reminisces* I don't know if the university is going to do the same amount of advertising for us this year as they did in '07. When they heard we had pre-registered 600+ people, I'm sure more than a few hats hit the ceiling. It's still early, though, and I want to get Jim Frenkel (of TOR books) and Joan D. Vinge to return as guests. I also wan to see more workshops and a few more career oriented panels. Oddcon here in Madison had a few good topics on the hell known as "writing for SF/Fantasy TV."

We have a hard time getting any kind of guests to come in who aren't local. We don't charge for the con, so there's no money to help pay for travel expenses, unless we get specific funding from the university. It might be possible to get someone in who's a professor or lecturer, but I don't knowif we could get an actor in.
