So, I've been reading Janet Evanovich's Wife for Hire, and we have developed a love/hate relationship. Basically, I love the plot, but sometimes Janet does something that just make me cringe, and I have this overwhelming urge to fix it. And since I obviously can't just call her up and say, "Janet, Janet, we have to fix this." there's only one obvious solution.
Fanfiction.
But I need help. I need a reason for a man to hire a woman to pretend to be his wife for six months to a year. In the book the man does it to get a loan from a bank that says he is not a sound member of the community. But why in the world would Ichigo hire Rukia to be his wife?
Help? Anyone?

hmm while I've never seen the show with those characters no read the book I may have a few ideas that could help.
Could be to apse an older relative who is pushing for them to get married. Or is dieing and just wants to see him married before death.
To get out of an arranged engagement.
((borrowed from Koren drama, Full House (nothing to do with American show), )) To save face. Though a complicated turn of events people think he's in love or want to marry this one girl and if he doesn't his reputation is all destroyed.
I hope these help a litte

Thats okay. You don't need to know Bleach to try to think up reasons.
Actually, the reason Rukia agrees to the fake marriage is to escape Byakuya, her older brother because he's pushing her to begin courting.
I really like that last one, though with how I have their backgrounds set up it'll be a little hard to accomplish. I think I'll give it a go, though.
Thank you!
