Do you want to know how to create a good RP?
Follow these guidelines and you will find that more people will join these than what you are currently doing.
1. A good title should be presented.
The wrong and what I see currently Naruto RP.
What's wrong with this type of a title It puts people to sleep. Yawn!
A better title It's Showdown time Naruto!
Why is "It's Showdown time Naruto" a better title? You already get the idea of what you want it to be about. Plus, you get the idea across that you want it to be Naruto based.
2. A plot/background should be in place
What I see ? Uh... I don't see anything here... where'd it go?
What's wrong with this? I have no clue as to what the heck I am supposed to do!
The right way Having a background/plot to your roleplay will, as I have said give the rpers a better idea of what is going on, thus spreading the word at how professional this looks. Plus, it gets you out of diapers.
Total freedom = total chaos and too many questions. If you wanna be stuck in the mail room than being stuck here, then... well, forget this point. You will get more roleplaying done with a plot/background.
3. Grammar and spelling should be checked.
what I see
Thise isssss doep.
why is this wrong?
Can you understand it?
How do I fix it? I am a bad typer!
Bull-s**t! You are not a bad typer. You just type too quickly. The first thing you should do is lay off the booze, the caffine, the chocolate and get better sleep. 8-10 hours a night! Secondly, take your time typing. The computer is not going to bite. Third, have a dictionary ready. Rogets is a good one!
But, I don't want to feel like I am in school!
Why do you even go to school? Is it because your parents make you? Ask them, I dare you, of why you have to go. If they say it's because the law demands it, tell them I am going to change the law. If they say that it is to make you a better person, then listen to them.
People understand you and want to be around you more if you have a good education. No, I am not saying that you have to be a geek or a nerd, but having good spelling and grammar does suggest that you know what you are doing.
Gaia is one great site because there are people of all ages on here (I am honestly over 40 and Aaron is 19 for examples). While most of us aren't great spellers, you can learn to be.
4. Details, but not too much
what I see
There once was a king who...
what's wrong with this?
Nothing really, it just means that there will be a lot of fighting of what is actually going on. Characters are missing, rules, a plot...
How long should the details be?
If you have a plot/background, a few rules (like if it is same-gender-love friendly or not), and a decent title, then that is all you really need. A good character form list doesn't hurt either.
............................................................................................................
Summary:
If you just want to skip all of what I said up to this point, this is basically what I told you...
1. Have a good title in order to make people interested in the topic
2. Have a storyline/background/plot so people know what they are doing
3. Have good spelling and grammar so people can understand you.
4. Make the details lengthy, but not so lengthy that they want to take a nap first.
Good rule of thumb:
Having too much freedom can lead you to being stuck outside of this guild and land you with too many Private Messages that you would honestly rather deal with later or not at all. Having a roleplay that has some restrictions and some guidance to where you want it to go will make a big difference in both popularity and with more time in the roleplay.
I hope this helps those who are too young to even be on here.
